I hope this video could be some kind of help for vintage camera tinkerers and lovers.
Have fun!

Amazing restoration 👍🏻
Thanks!
Really cool video. My Movikon 8 needs to be oiled but I have no idea how to take apart so I'm not even going to try. I'm sure I'd lose a small part along the process. But this was so cool seeing inside of the camera.
Thanks, i am glad you like it 😀
thanks, very an outstanding project and labour of love. I got a movikon, sadly the lens is infected with mould, I thought i could open to clean the lens, after seeing how complicated the internal mechanism of a movikon, i am convinced I cannot try to open it. I won't be able to put it back together. i already try to fix less complex cameras with very little success. However, the video helps me to understand how extraordinary a precision machine a Movikon 8 is. hats off!
Thank you! I think it is not so hard to remove the lens block and try with a little patience.
Thanks for the encouragement, probably one day I'm on the right mindset i will have a go removing and cleaning the lens. Cheers!
Hi, at 1:02, when you put the sping, be careful : the end of the spring (with the 90° bend going up) going up the camera needs to be to the right of the knob. Othewise the frame by frame shot doesn't work.
Thanks for the input. Its been sometime since then and i can't remember exactly what i did. Thanks again.
Are there any precautions to be taken when disassembling the camera? Very interesting video btw!!
Thank you. Nothing special from what i remember.
can you make a video of ho wyou turn it in to a 16mm cam?
?
Was oil used during the reassembly or do they generally run dry?
Oil, grease or nothing, dependts the spot.
Shame your winder is coroded. It is a beautiful and strange camera.
It is a shame yes, but that is life... On the other hand i really enjoyed tinkering with it and now runs as it should :)
@@ChrisTDownTheRabbitHole I got one myself and it is absurdly loud, is it supposed to be this way?
@@hypnotised-clover I don't think so. Compared to others this is very quiet!
