I had heard other documentaries about her and they said the people who leaked the photos tried other outlets but they refused to publish them because Miss America was a respectable position and they would not want to stain the institution. Unfortunately, Hustler weren't so moral and were wack to leak the photos during her reign and not after. They just had to wait a few months. Vanessa's career luckily took off in the early 90's. She was the it girl. Just sad that she had to go through the embarrassment of the photos and having to step down
