- A lot of people have asked for a DIY mass loading and damping kit for the beyerdynamic DT880. So.... I got James, my young padawan to make one.

You mean your company doesn't pay in experience and exposure? Sounds like these employees are abusing the advantages you offer by also asking for money for stuff like food... instead you should call it an all inclusive work/diet programme and have them pay you.

This black thing is bitumen? It's very toxic, especially in the summer, tried some mods with this 😔
as far as I can tell, even if it is, it's only an issue while curing/liquid and while hot due to fumes, so like 80 degrees or so.
If so (I'm no expert), I don't see this causing any issues.

The right earphone of BayerDymic dt880 stopped working. I took it to someone to replace the headband cable. He fixed it but now it has a sound with more mids. What is the cause and how do I fix it?
I would do a phase test - if they sound right when the sound is playing out of phase than the driver is soldered the wrong way round

I got the kit and the video was super helpful but I could not get the copper ring install without it touching the filter. So far the mod seems to exactly work as expected but is this intended or potentially a problem?
No, that will be fine if it is touching the mesh screen
After this mod, how would you say these 880s compare to say the DT 1770 Pro? I know they are slightly different headphones. I am just thinking about if it's worth me paying the extra money for the latter, if the former are just as good? Are the Tesla drivers really that much better?
They are a bit different - the mids and highs will be similar but the 1770 has some of the best bass you can get. The sound stage will be a bit better on the 880. It is down to what you prefer
would the copper mod further reduce the treble peaks of the 990's? I know you have a kit with the foam and lead but I'm just wondering if the copper is worth considering on top of that.

We have not tested it on the Pro version but it should be the same
