    Season 1 of Arduino DCC++ was amazing. It 's all meat an no filler. Couldn't have been done better. I wish I had started with you videos first. Now I understand what's really happening and not just how to connect everything. Thank you!

    Thank you for posting these videos. DCC has always been cost prohibitive to me since I am retired and on a fixed income. I already have an Arduino Uno so now I´m going to get a motor shield so I can get started in DCC. Really great video tutorial.

    I am very impress with you software. I got it working myself with your code for the Arduino and jmri and a throttle on my android phone. Works like a charm.

    Hello, thaks for your videoguide. I hava problem with motor shield. i have cut the Vi connect but there is othes 2 points in bottom side of the shield. A e B breack disable. I should cut these connections? thank you very much.

I've assembled my Arduino and motor shield, but I'm finding that my Arduino doesn't communicate with any DCC devices, and I have previously used these with a DYNAMIS system. I'm using a 15V switched mode PSU - is that likely to cause an issue? I have turned power on with a .

    can a l298 motor driver be used.I am not able to get a motor shield with l298,only l293 is available at my place.

    At around 2:40 you talk about cutting the connection. Can I then connect a 12V supply to Vin?

      You wont need to as you need a computer running JMRI to send data to the Arduino so the computer will power the Arduino via 5v USB and the motor shield 15v input will power the DCC tracks.

    I can program the loco on the program track and i see it move a bit when it programs to it. but if i pull up a throttle to move it i get nothing.

    I need help from you, I have a problem where I have everything installed to the board and it’s all hooked up to track and such, when I connect it to track power, it disconnects signal from the USB port. I also have a problem where it was working fine last night. This evening when I tried to set it up, nothing works on the board, I’ve done the basic troubleshooting and nothing works at all.

    Are there any block detection systems that are compatible with DCC++ aside from using another system with its own interface for sending data to jmri ? as I would like to use DCC++ for the base station points control and block detection. Also will this be supported by Train-controller Gold by freiwald ?

      Looks like the power supply for a battery charger. You can find random wall warts at a thrift store

    This'll sound stupid, but how do I provide the 15V to the motor shield? I understand that it uses the 2 screw ports near the outputs, but I have a cable that goes with the lower port. Does anyone have a solution?

      The terminals are for a short section of bare cable to be clamped in place. Look up terminal connections, there are a lot of specifics and a million guides online for how to do it right. I get nervous as I work with watts not milliamps for 3d printer heating elements. I think at this level of power its a bit safer but still read up on those terminal connections first, then cut the cable and attach the positive and negative to the correct terminals. Be incredibly careful about that positive and negative part! Again, just advising you to read up on it providing a keyword, I am not an expert and this is not a guide.

      Make sure you set your voltmeter to measure AC voltage and not DC since the DCC signals are high-frequency bipolar signals, similar to AC.
