  • Today I’m going to show you how to do embroidery on lightweight fabrics.
    Materials like chiffon, organza, and tulle can be a bit difficult to sew with but they can also be hard to embroider on if you haven’t done embroidery on them before.
    My costumes over the past year featured embroidery on materials such as chiffon, organza, and tulle forcing me to learn how to work with these lightweight fabrics.

    I like the explanation of the stabilisers and why the double fabric.... It just clicks! I have been asked by few people to make them Baptising/Christening gowns and I was avoiding it until now. Thank you! :-)

    I really like it when you explain stuff like this! It really sort of demystifies the process and gives me a framework of how to approach it in the future. There's so many costumes I want to have embroidery for, and it's way less intimidating this way. 🥰

    I wanted to do smth like this, but the embroidery machines are so expensive :/ I saw the cheapest Brother machine for $300, do you think it can produce the same results as more expensive ones? So far I don't see any differences between machines except of the hoop size and the amount of needles that can be used at the same time. I wish there was a review where they compare the same design on different machines

    • @CaseyReneeCosplay
      @CaseyReneeCosplay  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would absolutely NOT get a cheap embroidery machine. With that being said I also don't recommend a high end machine either. Something between $1500-$4000 are the best beginner embroidery machines that can last decades. I'd recommend looking for machines with mainly metal parts Bernette/Bernina make great machines. Husqvarna has amazing Embroidery Sewing Combo machines and with Black Friday coming up you can easily get a $4000 machine for $2000. Embroidery machines are an investment, if your $300 machine breaks it costs a minimum of $100 to get it serviced plus parts plus time meaning you could spend another $300 just to fix it. Or you could buy something nicer that is less likely to break and if you take care of it you'll never need another one.

    My embroidery loses it's shine and some structure when I wash away the stabilizer. Does that happen with you?

    • @CaseyReneeCosplay
      @CaseyReneeCosplay  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't had the experience of it losing the shine but you can always rinse less of the stabilizer out if you want a stiffer design.

    Your work ist fantastic. Absolutely. But I cannot listen to you calling tulle "tool". (And yes, that is MY problem).
