I attended Roland W. Hayes Elementary School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, 1958-1964, a Julius Rosenwald / Booker T. Washington School.
Today 2024 our Neighborhood has formed a Core Committee and was donated a plaque, which has been ordered. A Memorials plaque that will be placed on the Home of The Bessie Smith Cultural Center's property located on Martin Luther King Blvd. in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
This plaque will represent our school Roland W. Hayes Elementary, and to thank Julius Rosenwald and Booker T. Washington for their dedication and gift to Black Education. Plans for this plaque and placement should be finalized by the end of 2024. 🙏
    Miz Rose
    Core Committee Member
