    A friend was on a cruise where a couple "adopted" a small dog in a port of call and brought it into their cabin. They were also kicked off.

      Everyone and everything they bring back onto the ship is screened. Bags sent thru xray and walking thru metal detector. It would be very difficult to smuggle an animal onboard.

    The thought of 'jumping off the ship' always totally blows my mind. My first cruise was timed (accidentally) with Spring break in the US, and I remember being on the top deck of NCL Escape and a group of young people were talking about how fun it would be. It BAFFLES ME that people would even consider it!

    Going into some of the Mexican ports and disembarking in order to go to some actual local stores and places away from the dock or dock vendors can be rewarding although a bit sketchy and unnerving. But going a bit further out is where you get better deals on all kinds of items such as coffee, vanilla, alcohol, chocolate, silver jewelry, chess sets, carvings. I have purchased a folding pocket knife to go out with and tossed it once back in the safe zone before getting back on the ship. I felt more comfortable knowing I had some protection if needed and I didn’t mind tossing a $10.00 knife for the security

  • @Ariadne147

    You story about the guy being inappropriate during a massage was upsetting. I feel bad for his family, too! And for you! Gross. I actually had the opposite happen to me - a woman who was giving me a facial told me her whole personal story about sex with men on the ship which made me extremely uncomfortable and when the facial was over, she tried to kiss me on the mouth passionately. Even if I weren't a straight woman, this was so inappropriate! I felt stunned and embarrassed and to this day I wish I had gone to the spa manager to report her.

    You cannot be disembarked for having sex with a crew member. No where in all the documents and contracts while booking a cruise is having sex with crew members mentioned. The burden and consequences of sex between passengers and crew fall entirely on the crew.

    Just a couple of thoughts, Virgin will throw you off the ship for possessing Cannabis even if it's legal in some of the ports they stop at (there are clear warnings about this). You don't need to be trafficking
    While I'm happily married I really don't remember ever seeing anything in terms and conditions saying you can't sleep with the crew. If that is in the terms I would love to see what else is in there.
    I also think breaking quarantine will not just get you thrown off the ship it's actually a criminal offense as you are endangering the ship. Doctors using the Captain's authority have an incredible amount of legal powers when it comes to this

      If you really want to have sex with someone in the crew, just wait and do it on the final day when you have already left port to go back to the starting point of the cruise. I'm sure they wouldn't turn around to dump you off, so you'd get dumped off where you were going to get off anyway.

    On my last cruise there was a parent and a kid or two who got back late, and I mean really late by about an hour. The only reason we were still there and they were allowed back on was because there had been a medical emergency and the person (and travelling companions) were being disembarked - on the first port of a two week cruise, poor sods. Didn’t realise at the time that there was such a thing as pier runners so I was just like, ok, lucky them.

    Sadly, the travel and hospitality industry suffered greatly from the COVID nightmare, and as a result air travel and cruise lines have dramatically reduced fares. The immediate and predictable result is that many who couldn't afford to travel in this fashion now find that they can. Far too many of them aren't of a mind to use discretion and civility in their daily affairs, and they bring this attitude with them when they travel. It's unfortunate, really.

    They told him what she had done and informed him they were going to put her off at the next port.
    He told them he'd back them 100% and apologized to them.
    They kept her in her room till they made port.

  • @truespirit
    @truespirit 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've been on 28 cruises and never once did I hear about anyone getting kicked off for being late. The standard procedure is like what happens when you are late for a flight, it leaves without you!! Then you must pay out of pocket to get to the next port or back home. It's as easy and simple as that. If the ship happens to still be there when you arrive late due to another reason, the crew will likely tell you how lucky you were that you weren't left behind. They'd have no reason to want to kick you off. If you are late again, the problem solves itself because you'll won't be on the ship due to missing it. LOL If the captain is willing to spend $100k's just to wait on passengers, it's he that should be fired by the cruise line and kicked off the ship, not the passenger.

    • @TexasbyStorm
      @TexasbyStorm 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Several of these are not true. Like sleeping with a crew member. There is no recourse for the passenger if there is consensual sex between a crew member and passenger. The crew member would be fired, but the passenger absolutely would not get kicked off the ship. Not having sex with passengers is 100% on the crew.

    I have a problem with the "no fighting" rule.
    I believe everyone has a eight to self defense.
    If I get kicked off a cruise ship that I paid a ton of money for and some drunken passenger thinks he's Johnny Lawrence from Cobra Kai.
    I'm not just going to sit there and wait for crew to arrive when seconds count.
    Kick me off for defending myself, you better give me a refund on my cruise or you and Johnny will be hearing from my lawyer.

    I have ZERO plans to go on a cruise especially after watching hours of video about cruises.

      Reminds me of a company I worked for many years ago -- riding up in the elevator with the owner -- looked at his shoes and they needed a good polish -- I was like , seriously dude -- you own the company but can't polish your shoes!! And it was not a small mom and pop -- there were several hundred employees.

    If I’m assaulted I WILL contain the assault, that is my right. However I will use military restraint techniques to de-escalate the situation. If I’m using de-escalation why should I be punished?
    Obviously you are British, Americans have the constitutional right to bear arms, but many forget it does not extend beyond our borders. Within the US I travel with a gun, but I’m extra careful that I don’t take outside the US.
