I found this very displeasing the British ingenuity was incredible The gun didn’t fit so they put it in sideways The radio didn’t fit so they cut a hole in the back and had it stick out the back And the engine was crap so they got five car engines and stuck them together
The Sherman is my favorite ww2 tank. It had an amazing crew survival rate and was mass produced but didn’t have the same problems of the t-34 which wasn’t very good
My favorite part of playing M4s is how well armor angling works if you're not looking down the barrel of a Tiger. The exception being the M4A1 and that cast hull having a pretty obvious flat spot on the corners, but the welded hull M4s are just awesome. I like to work from odd approaches and long flanks as a lone wolf or in a small group of 2-3 shermans, and you find yourself getting prime flanking shots on all sorts of targets. With the stabilizer, you can rip off quick stop shots with ease and keep yourself moving. It's hella fun to back up and have a dead even gun with no movement whatsoever.

New serie idea: Every episode of the serie, pick up a nation and BR and hop into battle with a SPECIFIC LINE-UP. Explain why there is a good synergy btw these vehicles & general strategy to employ with those. (Also, how it will help you tu grind, how to manage SP btw them,...) It would be nice.
1:09 True, however the Sherman is able to bounce Panzer 4 rounds if you're able to angle that armor. The ideal is if you got a slight up slope. For instance if you drive into a crater or a ditch allowing you to tilt the tank so the slope of the armor increases. Angle it correctly and all the stock round of the Panzer 4 can do is pen the machine gunner position, transmission and underneath the gauntlet on either side. In such a hull down sloped position the sherman is actually able perform a bit like a heavy tank. Mind you, I'm talking the 3.7 M4 here. The 3.3 M4A1 is absolutely trash in that position because it opens up huge weak spots on the sides of the hull because they're rounded instead of angled.
I love and hate watching your videos. I love them for the comedy and entertainment, and hate them for motivating me to try War Thunder until I realize yet again how terribad I am at the game. Keep up the great work, Phly.

Ever since the most recent pen mechanics took effect, that 3.7 Sherman has become amazing. Before, when the gun only had ~79mm of pen with that APCBC shell it was just too undergunned to be anything other than OK. Now it is a beast of a tank at its BR. Particularly with the track armor. I have bounced shells from PZ 4s frontally (obviously only when angled or when they hit the track armor for the closer range shots) and then OSKed them without difficulty, even 800 m away. And the poor 3.3/3.7 T-34s have to be really careful with shot placement or they will just bounce off and they aren't nearly so hard to kill anymore.
M4A2 is probably one of the most underrated tanks. I almost never see people praise it, when it's one of my favorite to use. You have good mobility, a gun that can effectively deal with almost every tank you'll meet up to 4.3-7 or so, armor that can bounce rounds from time to time, top mounted .50 cal, and you will almost never face a turreted tank destroyer
Steel Division 2 is coming out May 2, and is in beta right now. It's by Eugen, the same people who made R.U.S.E, the Wargame series, and the first Steel Division. It doesn't have the base building and sector powerups and the "Ruse" aspect of the game, but it's a modern Wargame/Ruse style RTS, and you may like it.
They just check how strong their enemies are, they let 1 shell go through, if the opponent is too weak they just leave the battle. In Soviet Russia, tanks get tested with people in them.

The KV-1 zis 5 was my fav at one time, several years ago. Then I got my KV-1E. Well, we know the story from there. With a T-34E in the my lineup beside those 2 beast. You can't go wrong.

I say yes play the kv1 or any of the low br vehicles. Sense the ammo change they are different now ,plus its been awhile sense your last vids on them . Most importantly, low br is fun br . Great vid.

Earlier AP shot used to have 110mm of penetration at 10m and APCBC had 90mm. The new update changed the meta for US guns a lot. Also after the update angling is more effective. And more importantly how you did not see that T-34 at 8:59 or why were you using AP at 17:56 lol.
It's worth noting that the American 75mm APCBC only gained increased penetration over the standard AP when the new penetration formulas were implemented. Prior to that it had worse penetration.

Sherman’s are actually pretty good because of their stabilizers. Another factor is that if you’re good and you use the Sherman it can even be better than the Panzer IV’s in some cases
The filled round being better is a result of the ballistic calculation overhaul. It used to be AP penned 110mm and APCBC penned 90mm. Same thing happened with the American 76; the AP round (*which is not stock and costs money to use*) is now totally useless..
While the KV1 has great armor, the enemies you'll face with it have guns that treat your front plate like tissue paper, and the original gun is so weak the only way you are taking out another heavy with it is to land an HE round underneath them or ram them into the canal. Don't bother using the KV1 or KV1E. Just take the KV1S. It solves the gun problem and lightens it enough to handle like a medium tank.
The AP being worse than APCBC is a post-penetration change thing. Before when it had historical values the AP shot did have better penetration, but not anymore for some goofy reason.
Ive made a sherman tank in build a boat for treasure roblox the roundness too and the slope's I just couldnt perfect the turret that much still loks cool
The M61 shot used to have less pen (around 69-72MM) than the m72 shot but they changed it after the whole shell re-work patch. I don't know if this change was for the better or the worse.

M61 is the best shell for post pen damage right now. Easily getting 2-3 kills on my worst matches in the 75mm M4s.
