There is a song by marylin monrou that is called "diamonts are a girl's best friends" and is all about trying to get herself a sugar daddy that buy her diamonts, cause diamonts are forever. I think that's why she's got this line about being a sugar mama at the beggining. So I have figured that Cher quote also applies here "mama, I'm a rich man". At least I have thought that the song said that she didn't need a sugar daddy since she was rich herself. I may be wrong though.

Thank you so much! I studied literature in undergrad and wrote multiple essays on songs. For a school assignment, I'd recommend Joanna Newsom. Her lyrics feel very literary and contain a lot of literary and historical references, so you can pick any one of her songs and have enough material for a full essay. A few songs to consider analyzing might be Go Long, Sapokanikan, Anecdotes, '81, Leaving the City, and Emily, but her lyrics are so rich that you really can't go wrong with any of her songs. :)
@@ericmason6540 Please react to Eyes Wide Open it's more innocent because it's her first album with Disney. And EVOLution is a lot different compared to Eyes Wide Open because she had grown up quite a bit and started writing her own songs.
