Elon does not do as he is told to do by the neo con men. So they do stupid things to try and bring him into line with them. They dont realise, he is light years ahead.
Current EVs are like older phones slow charging and low runtime but what happen they stopped production and move with another product we don't get current high tech mobiles with very low charging time and full day battery and still developing.that theory can be apply to EVs as well.
Remember the old Acura legend ads of the 1980’s. They would roll a steel marble along body gabs to show consistency. Big 3 had huge issues with body fitments inside and out before Japanese cars arrived. I grew up in the 60’s. I would use wood screws to stop rattles and squeezing noises in my new Chevrolet. Plus all the paint blemishes. Many of their engines were horrible. It took Big 3 forever to get rid of drum brakes, carburetors(most non domestic fuel injected) sealed beam headlights, clutch radiator fans, etc. Cars have come along way in 100 years. I am never a gap guy. My new MB hatch now that I look at is not aligned well. As long as car starts and dependable more of a factor to me. Vehicles are becoming too expensive though for a depreciating liability. It’s not an asset unless you rent it putting money in your pocket each month.
I’ve tested my car with an empty roof rack on or removed. I’ve done the same round-trip and found about a 5% reduction in range. Considering the panels would have more wind resistance, it seems like a waste of time unless you’re traveling short distances per day and at lower speeds like in the city.
I've pre-ordered a RWD Highland M3 up in Canada but I'm curious whether it'll be shipped from Fremont or Shanghai, and what that will mean for battery architecture and chemistry.
I think that the ones from shanghai has the better battery, not a huuge difference! I think that there is the VIN number that you can check when you get it to see where its from!
TESLA needs to integrate enough panels into the roof and rear windows just to keep charge up when the car has sentry mode on and is not hybernating. It is very frustrating to find a 5% loss every day, especially those who can't keep the car plugged in overnight
hmmm....solar panels don't generate anything overnight, or in an undercover carpark, or in a garage, and only 15-20% on cloudy days and 10% on rainy days , on a cloudless day mid summer you might get a couple of percent back - it's the worst payback of any accessory on the planet.
Gaps in body panels from initial runs of all vehicles is an issue industry wide. It is just Tesla that is getting hammered over this. I have owned several Toyota vehicles and everyone has had panel gap issues. None of them were 1st run versions.
I thought you were gonna do your basic b thing and bust out the Apple M1 analogy for how much of an upgrade it is.. even though ARM has been in PCs for over a decade
Tesla has always amazed me. Legacy auto already had infrastructure and land. Tesla had to start from land up from nothing. Musk is a business genius as well as a scientist genius. To develop a completely new propulsion system car, multiple battery types, factors, superchargers, etc. Big 3 always begging for handouts. Plus wants public to pay for charging stations. 😊
Thank you for your reviews of the refreshed Model 3. They’ve been VERY helpful. If you have time, there are a few hings I’d like to have you explore: Hardware 4 Practically speaking how is it different than Hardware 3? Does AutoPilot or FSD work better? Perhaps fewer errors? Does Hardware 4 perform better with accident avoidance? 5G connectivity The car is supposed to have better cellular service. What does that mean? Is the map data presented more quickly? Does music or video stream more reliably? Improved Bluetooth I’ve read that the car will recognize your phone from farther away? Are there any other benefits? WiFi range is now dual band. Does that mean it will be easier to connect to my router at home? Or that my WiFi downloads will be faster if I can connect with 5G instead of the 2.4G found in my Tesla Model 3? Adaptive Matrix LED Lights Are these new to Model 4? I gather they will be able to map out cars in front of you to avoid blinding other drivers. Does this mean you can stay on high-beam all the time? Thanks again! Henry Henry F. Domke
Tesla got some many things in their generation 1 cars. Competition has several generations over past 100 years of ICE. I own a new 2017 model X, 3, and Y. My X has never been to service center. Only maintenance have been tires. I have solar/powerwall at home. Save $500/month on gas and home electricity. I can not control healthcare premiums but can control energy costs
I have Starlink and with battery backup able to have internet with power outages. My previous spectrum land internet must not have battery back up at company headquarters. With power outages I lose my spectrum modem signal and no land based internet. Tesla will have Starlink in their cars for worldwide fast internet anywhere.
USA started building EV’s and forgot to build USA battery companies forcing at least Big 3 to buy from expensive 3rd party battery manufacturers in China and Korea. EV’s will be cheaper and faster to build vs gas cars once battery factories line USA Big 3 forgot to build charging stations
If you are in Southern California, you can charge your car driving average 20 miles one direction with this on roof panels and drive your car for Sun's expense. You will drive your car for free. Wow. That's cool. Don't tell me that gasoline car can do that.
Solar is great on a roof......of a house.....not a car in Australia we generate 90kwh per day regularly in summer on cloudless days from a 13kw system / 10kw inverter
The loss in range from the added weight on the roof and worse aerodynamics will negate any 20 mile per day gains you will make when having the car parked all day. You will loose overall mileage in the long run if using this stupid contraption daily.
Germany afraid of tsunami of cheap Chinese EV’s. Germany thinking of dropping tax credits and placing tariffs on Chinese EV’s. Trump era has tariffs on Chinese cars. People buying Chinese EV over German as better interiors for the price, cheaper, better software platforms, and greater battery performance. EV’s selling great worldwide. USA sales gas and electric slowed down because high inflation, high interest rates, and historic consumer credit card debt. Dealer lots are overstocked LOT ROT. Give it back crisis, and increased repo’s.
The “Ahmed” solar panel on the top of the card like that is very ugly and would not have been disclose like that. Ugly and no I e should by this like this. The solar panel have to be integrated or way more designed. Just ugly and failed project !
I mean ur acting like the model 3 looks good in the first place. No offense but it looks like the most plain jane basic car out there. Front looks like a Chinese fish. No interesting lights or cuts and lines. Just meh
As a 7 year Model S owner, I can definitively state that EVs are one of the biggest scams ever perpetrated on consumers. I once owned over 3000 shares of Tesla, but now find myself shorting the stock. I really like Elon for SpaceX and X, but I’d like to see him cash out while he still can.
I was recently in Dubai and almost every Uber Model 3 was the refreshed version. Drivers loved them.
Tesla does not qualify for the US EV credit?! But in Canada it does! Uncle Sam needs to get his sanity check again.
Elon does not do as he is told to do by the neo con men. So they do stupid things to try and bring him into line with them. They dont realise, he is light years ahead.
Ur lucky that it even exists. Letting all us average Joe's be able to get our teslas
Its cause the new batteries are mostly manufactured in china, they dont care about the environment, its purely economical and political
Uncle Sam doesn’t like Musk right now
Why should EVs get a credit?
So cool, saving up so I can buy one. 📈
Rear seats are heated as well, but not ventilated

My home solar panels are 420 watts each. Why only 200 watts. Probably keeping costs down.

I felt the new Highland would offer the new version LFP(lithium Iron) battery M3P. 20% more range
When M3P battery?

Powerful golfcart. How did he increase the range and adjust for changing times. I have one idea
yes let me remove the fog lights
There are so many red tape in USA, time to change and get America going forward and the space future

Solar array on the car? So lame! Put the solar on your house roof.

EV’s now are like cell phones in the 90’s they are going to get a million times better…
You gotta love that sun thing. 6 hours gets you 20 miles. Just shows a good example of the efficiency of solar.
Well it's a good hail protection

Funny to see the amateur approach adding solar panels to the roof rack. RIDICULOUS!

I ordered mine in canada with the optional 4 cyl motor. So when its minus 52 I at least can get to work
It's ugly on the MY, but maybe in the bed of the cybertruck, motorized removing, pointing to the sun... Will see
No car is perfect in gaps
Tesla not fit for snow winter and drains battery frozen cold below -30, -40
Probably a few thousand dollars for a solar setup to give you 20 miles extra? Not EVEN worth it, even if you discount the ugly factor.
Have you seen the Aptera with 700 W of solar molded smoothly into its shape?

I wonder if you have to use the screen to go in reverse. Honestly the stupidest design choice I've ever seen.
My guess is like other changes. It just takes a little while to adapt. Will likely think it’s better a few weeks later.
