Asta deciding to make a contract on equal terms was actually a smart move, since the contract is based primarily on trust and not dominance. I think no human can really use 100% of their linked devil's power (even Nacht) except for Asta due to the nature of his contract with Liebe. After all, you're always gonna be more willing to help someone you trust rather than someone who enslaved you, right?
Just finished it cause the movie dropped. You’re right but I think there’s an actual cannon explanation. So they explained it anybody with devil powers can’t use 100% of their power due to the gate being closed. However if you remember Liebe got thrown through the gate and is actually physically in the human world unlike the other devils who are just there spiritually or however they’re doing it. Also there’s a little part in one episode fighting the Gravity magic guy when he’s explaining the part about 80% devil power he actually says “though I’m not sure about this one” referring to Asta.
liebe is the older brother that acts tough but does actually care asta is the dumb younger brother whos skull is as dense as a star but he has a pure heart
I don't get it though, was Asta given to the church as a baby before Richita met Liebe and took him in?? She died protecting Liebe so how would she have a child after that?

The reason for Asta's mutation is probably because during lichita's pregnancy Asta probably had magic and due to her body's ability she was constantly absorbing his magic but because during pregnancy mothers support their children with nutrients and all other necessities he remained alive and it was a constant cycle, so his body evolved to survive (like ban in purgatory) thus making him magic less. I think. Though I'm not all certain about the theoretical frame work of the subconsciousness, the reason why he developed anti-magic I think out of his love for lichita's and the fact that he cursed the devils he subconsciously developed anti-magic. He had previously seen how she drained the snake of it's life energy and luceferio of the magic he used to possess Liebe. Now we can assume that whatever was happening to lichita was unique and since he could mimic it (like how it's possible to have the same magic attribute in a family line like house of Silva or house Vermillion) he subconsciously created something similar. Let me know what you think of this hypothesis.

On the other hand, why would Tabata put so much focus on that gate other than to show it's main purpose, which is to keep the other devils inside?? Why would he go so far as to show that the gates would smash other devils to pieces because they have magic? Anti-magic is the only explanation I can think of. Maybe Liebe accidentally extracted anti-magic energy from the gate when he went through it?? This, along with the curses, helped him manifest it. As for how the devils walked through it, they just simply avoided touching the doors, as they walked past them.
Actually Henry only absorb Mana litchia absorbs Mana and life force it will probably come up when asta actually learns about his mom because right now only liebe knows about her and they don't really have time to talk at the moment. Also my best guess is that Henry and litchia has a medical condition Henry has had it since he was born and litchia probably got it while pregnant with asta.

Why would he go so far as to show that the gates would smash other devils to pieces because they have magic? Anti-magic is the only explanation I can think of. Maybe Liebe accidentally extracted anti-magic energy from the gate when he went through it?? This, along with the curses, helped him manifest it. As for how the devils walked through it, they just simply avoided touching the doors, as they walked past them.

Actually Henry only absorb Mana litchia absorbs Mana and life force it will probably come up when asta actually learns about his mom because right now only liebe knows about her and they don't really have time to talk at the moment. Also my best guess is that Henry and litchia has a medical condition Henry has had it since he was born and litchia probably got it while pregnant with asta.
