the au works best in underfell, imo. it's a story about frisk being a beacon of kindness in a world that hates them and refusing to fight, even if it means dying over and over again, making a friend despite it all, and eventually sacrificing themself to free the underground. the monsters in underfell being so much more cruel than the monsters in undertale makes it more impactful.
