I have been a fan of Scott For years. Eila you gave him a run for the money on this one. Such a wonderful tone breath control I thought I saw so rebreathing in there as well. I still love you Scott but that young lady is just terrific. She is so talented her violin playing in these old standards is also surprising pleasing. I’m a fan. Joan you are also a remarkable musician and teacher. God Bless you all.

Ce disque dans son intégralité est parfait. Ce morceau était un défi pour Elia: être à la hauteur de Scott pour un duo tant ils sont différents et complémentaires! Défi remporté, tant ils en avaient envie l'un et l'autre, et ça pour notre plus grand plaisir! Les voir tous les deux s'écouter mutuellement, apercevoir de temps à autre l'immense sourire de Joan en découvrant leurs impros c'est extra! Merci à tous les 5 de cette petite merveille!

Two souls in sync on their tenors - wonderful! - and three others in support, Joan and Marc with their own lines in their beautiful solos, and Arnau mending it all with his percussion impulses, just marvellous!
We have heard their connection between strings and reeds, but here, the last separation falls!

Everything that comes out of this project (Andrea, Joan, guitar guy, and each and every player and singer) is a 'rabbit hole' for me; once I start watching/ listening I can't stop. So I took a break ... Now I come back to find this sublime tenor sax duet ... and one of them is a violin player! Bravo ... still in love!

Elia es ya toda una maestra. ¡Qué forma de soplar el tenor! No es fácil ver en la actualidad multi instrumentistas tocando instrumentos tan diversos como el saxofón y el violín con el nivel que ellla tiene. Es admirable. Magnífica interpretación. Transmisión de calor, precisión y emoción a partes iguales por parte de toda la banda. Gracias!

Bravo..bravo..bravo... The 2 tenors complimented each other very brilliantly, i can hear a lot of Scott's influence in the young ladies playing. The piano players solo was exceptional, i was waiting for a solo with bass and drums. But that was certainly a worthwhile listen.❤️❤️

HERE’S A SECRET - The secret of Joan Chamorro’s and Sant Andreu’s success in propelling youngsters forwards to be huge stars, both in their own right like Alba Armengou, and working with others (Andrea M and WDR). It’s the EXEMPLARY MODESTY OF YOUR RHYTHM SECTION, which never ‘resta protagonismo’ / ‘takes the highlight off’ your great up-and-coming musicians that you so rightly want to showcase! I’ve worked with both a Grapelli/Reinhardt bassist (as a child vocalist) and more recently as a choir member with Andrea Bocelli, so you learn about things like taking centre stage, or achieving a relaxing state of modesty! Well done! Enhorabona! And having said that, it’s great for you to have Scott H on board!!

I happened to be looking away from the monitor while this was playing, and I couldn't tell by ear if it was Bastida or Hamilton playing. It was a meeting of equals, with a fantastic band behind them.

I took a break.. from listening to the SAJB... And, now after a few busy weeks - its wonderfully pleasurable.. to get back to the Mellifluous sounds of the SAJB.. Comfortable, like being back with old friends..Elia Bastida this time with the tenor saxophone improv, & then, Scott Hamilton, great piano improv by Marc Martin .. presided over by Joan Chamorro.. who helps bring it all together as ever..! Great work. Cool..! Thank you..
