As a housekeeping staff at 5 stars hotel, i can conffirmed its true at anywhere in the world not only in china, during high occupancy we sometimes doing that to cut the time during cleaning room, cause mostly 1 house keeping staff hotel responsible 2-3 floor with 20 - 25 rooms to clean and tidy up so we must be rushing with diffrent type of room
It doesn't waste lot of time to just change/grab the new sponge or towel. 😊
@@dewiyanti6948 you don't know what you're talking about. Every second counts, or else annoying clients like you will just be complaining that we're too slow after staying in the room until 3pm and making us wait.
yes thats right, not only in china but EVERYWHERE! When i was in college long ago, i worked part time as housekeeper for 2 years, i was put by my agency to work in many hotels (mostly 4-5 star hotels) and yes i know housekeepers do this. They don't care. Housekeepers need to be quick and take shortcut, we have fixed times on how long we can clean the room, you wont be paid if u take too long and sometimes the room is needed asap because the guest already arrived. That's why when staying in hotel please dont use the glass. Also they always throw the pillows on the ground even after they change the pillow sheet because they want to fix the bed. Oof, my mysophobia got worse after working as housekeeper.
Yup can confirm this. I mean using the same thigh to clean the toilet and the glasses? Bad. But you are under so much pressure to clean 18-20 rooms depending on your hotel. Always calls and the supervisors pressuring you to hurry.
@@dewiyanti6948 first of all have in mind that most customers can leave the hotel room at 12.00 and at 1.00 the next one comes in. That can happen in all the previously occupated rooms. If the hotel has 20 rooms alone, pretty small one, and you have to clean on your own a number of them you don't have the time to use clean towels.
Also apart the time think of it economically wise, sponges are not even considered because of the cost. Used towels or old towels/sheets transformed to cleaning towels have a lower cost for the hotel.
For the 1% that will be eating during an earthquake.

So... You expect The Staff to clean every single item in the Room, with Diffrent towel each time... Really?
Yes , towels used from toilets should be different fro towels used in glasses , unless you do that also to yourself
Some hotels do not supply enough cleaning cloths to housekeepers, staff have no choice, have to use guest towels to do the job. Also they have to finish cleaning all the rooms they are assigned to within a certain time frame. They do not have enough tools, materials, etc and time to clean like they can do at their own homes. Their wages is not high too even though guests pay a lot of money for their rooms. In other countries, it is the same thing, not only in China.

I work at a hotel, honestly it's kinda the same in the States if you're a busy hotel, staff barely have enough time to get the rooms ready for the next night, it's not really the workers fault they're encouraged to do this. So if it isn't disposable it's probably not actually clean.

Honestly, don’t trust washroom in hotels ever. And don’t use their glass cups ever. Never ever.
