Good video guys I was number 4 to like and first to comment !!! You guys probably could sell that rig you are working on for a goog deal of money. Then you could have enough money to redue a W.W. 2 American. Sherman tank. ( I'm sure you could find one on the internet for sale. ) it might have a little rust or something , but what the hell. THANK you Frank from montana. U.S.A.

Correct me if wrong but when talking about the Mk2 W461 built from 2003 onwards (the production maybe still continues in Algeria) there were 4 product lines:
Greenline- vehicles for military use, 2003-2021/2
Worker- working vehicle for Swiss market, 2003-2013/4
PUR- 30th anniversary limited edition, 2009/10
Professional- working vehicle for EU, Australia, South Africa, some Asian markets, 2010-2013/4
There were also 5 4x4 body styles:
BM4- box van with 3 or 4 doors (in case of double tailgate W51) and 2850mm wheelbase
BM6- station wagon with 5 or 6 doors (in case of double tailgate W51) and 2850mm wheelbase
BM9- 2 door chassis cab with either short and long cab (RHD Australian military only) and 3428 mm wheelbase
BM10- 3 door LWB cabrio with 2850 mm wheelbase
BM11- 4 door chassis doublecab with 3428 mm wheelbase (AFAIK Dutch Airforce only, the FD in Niederdorf has a G270CDI BM11 but I think that´s either some proto or a conversion)
and 3 6x6 bodystyles- chassis cab with both short and long 2 door cab like BM9 (AFAIK RHD Australian military only, short as proto only) and 4 door chassis doublecab like BM11 all with 3120 mm wheelbase between the 1st and 2nd axle and 4220 mm between the 1st and 3rd axle.
All of the bodystyles were available as Greenline, BM11 only as G280CDI and 6x6 only as G300CDI (there were some G280CDI protos).
Worker was available as BM6, BM9 (short cab) and BM4 (G270CDI only)
PUR was available as BM6 G280CDI
Professional was available as BM6 (both G280CDI and G300CDI), BM4 and BM9 short cab (both G300CDI only)
In Algeria they were building BM6 and BM9 G300CDi since 2016 and it´s possible that the production continues until nowdays.

Really like your series, even though you are not completely right about the W461 being available for the public. My 1996 W461 pickup has been a civilian all of its life. Maybe it was only sold in Denmark due to tax regulations. It is quite rare though, to my knowledge only 229 were ever made of the W461 pickup.

I want some 😂😂😂CHUCKY off-road tires!!! You guys are hilarious 😆!
Thanks for all the history…who says we’re all not gonna be GKlasse experts when you guys get done with us 😎🍻!
TOTALLY OFF TOPIC: have you guys been following NARWEZ, as he rebuilds an M110 in 3parts…? (To me) it seems like a very well put together rebuild. The only thing is that I wish it was in English. Hey Lasse, maybe you could reboot it for us…
One day, when I go visit you guys I’m gonna try and get our friend Felix to do the same. OR NOT…instead maybe we’ll do a video in German, English and Spanish. We’ll call it “the good, the bad and the ugly” Felix will be the UGLY…¿did you see what his W460 Frankenstein!? THAT WAS UUUGLY!!!
    🌺He did an amazing transformation!!!

Lots of great research here that even top G gurus will not have known. So many 461 models that I now want to own. And, you answer the common 460 worker owner complaint... The Pur and Professional is for them, if you can find them. Instead, the ex-army 461s are sought after.

    • @jonasfreitag

I am curious, why didn’t you guys get an ex-army vehicle instead of the G-wagon from Norway - any particular reason???

    • @jonasfreitag
      @jonasfreitag  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Price is the simple answer. A nice ex military 290GD from the 90s as a 5 door hardtop rarely goes under 20k. Then the're usually 24V and need some transmission work to run comfortably down a highway. That just was not in our budget at the time.
