Beautiful
Yes one of my favourite trees. Thanks for posting. Carl
Living in the sunbelt mine looked like a normal green tree the last 2 years. And it's grown quite vigorously. I imagine years where it looks like this it doesn't take in much energy. Hope I can get mine to do this one year.
I have only ever kept mine in extreme shade and have been pleased with the results. Hope you can find a super shady spot for yours. Thanks for watching and posting. Carl
I live in cloudy Ireland. I just bought one. I have highly hopes for this.
Lovely tree, I hope it does well 👍
nice.
Thank you! Cheers!
Какой красивый цвет листьев получился👍👍👍🔥. Теперь я знаю куда посадить своего малыша😊. Спасибо, Карл🥰
Location is super important for this one. Thanks for posting. Csrl
I've had my 'Ukigumo' for over 10 years. It has only been white (half as white as yours) only twice out of the 10 years, and green the other 8.
Do you keep yours in extreme shade while it leafs out or during the rest of the growing season? Or both?
Mine is planted under an oak canopy wooded area where it is heavily shaded through the growing season, but while my Ukigumo is leafing out it gets nearly full sun due to the fact Oaks leaf out 3-4 weeks after my Japanese maples where I live.
Hi, yes it’s kept in the same shady position and so far has stayed white. It does get late afternoon sun however. In general Japanese maples go green in too much shade, I’ve seen a weeping red Garnet completely green. I think Ukigumo is tricky, too much sun it burns, not enough you don’t get the colours. As mine is in a pot I have control of the compost too which may help. Carl
