I think Peter Yearsley is one of the very best readers with Librivox. I look forward to anything he reads, whether I like the book or not. I wish he would read all of the Cleek of Scotland Yard detective mysteries. He has the best voice for detective mysteries.
Incredible story, and this is a great audio version of it. I'd recommend the new Zemial EP of the same name for anyone looking for a musical accompaniment to it.
Excellent! Really enjoyed this and got really into it! I found out about Robert w Chambers through reading H.P Lovecraft and have been listening to this along with works by Arthur Machen, who I also haven't read as yet. I must say...I much prefer Chamber's already...as I sort of suspected I would through hearing some of the story set ups beforehand. I would be interested to know, despite the unreliable narrator, if Wilde really had such contacts and also why he felt compelled to keep that cat...although maybe both he and Hildred were just both madman, fuelling each other madness. But then...Wilde knew were the missing pieces of armour were...
I find this narrator incredibly soothing and satisfying. Perfect for the creeping, luxurious doom of the King In Yellow.

I've heard this at x1 speed many times. Trying it at x2 I'm pleasantly surprised that it sounds natural at twice the speed. Thanks TH-cam 😁
