Absolutely interested in a Patreon (but can’t contribute for a few years - saving for house) - happy to watch/read everything you put out. BoardGameCo and you are top of the list for entities I want to Patreon/support. VERY excited to see the two videos you mentioned about unplayed games in your collection
Of my 227 games, 79 of them have not been played. And that's not even counting games like Catan and Stone Age that I've played before, just not my copies! That's gotta make you feel better about your situation. I am all in for the videos about the games you haven't played. Even a series where you keep us aprised of your progress (mini reviews, whether you'll keep them in your collection, etc.). As far as support: I'm more inclined to back a yearly Kickstarter than a Patreon. If only because five bucks a month seems like more of a commitment/responsibility than $60 on a Kickstarter 🤷🏿♂️.
I want to get the "classics" played first. Viticulture, Like A Feast for Odin, and Eldritch Horror. A lot of people love them, and I've had them on my shelf for too long. And then some of the first board games I ever purchased that are still sitting there: Detective: A Modem Crime Board Game, Orleans, Targi.
Would definitely be interested in the unplayed games video with follow up at year's end. Just checked my collection yesterday using BG Stats app and currently sitting at 130 unplayed games out of 488 games owned. Decided to set a challenge to play 50 new to me games this year. We'll see how it goes... Congrats on your resolutions and growing channel!
@@boardandsaviorgames Well, it SHOULD be something I've owned for a year or more (oh the shame), but will probably be some new hotness like LotR Duel for Middle Earth or River Valley Glassworks.
Love the channel so far. Definitely want to see the unplayed games videos. As I’ve gotten into the hobby, I’ve now collected a handful of games I’ve yet to play. I need to tackle that as well haha
I shrunk my Shelf of Opportunity down to 15 games by the end of the year. During the pandemic, the shelf was closer to 50 games. The games left require special player counts and campaign/legacy games.
I want to say how much I enjoy your channel. The hard work you put into the production of your videos are truly a joy to watch. I would be happy to support you through a patreon type platform. Not sure of what else all I would care to see from you that you aren't already doing. Except maybe it would be really neat if you did some sort of play online with your paid viewers? Or even just do some videos of you playing with some of your friends but in person? Idk, whatever you end up doing i will continue to support and watch your stuff!
I'm resolved to continue to buy less this year than last, which was already a huge cut from the year prior. Space is a very serious concern these days. 😅 I'm also determined to work on my shelf of shame and get things played as way too much came in during the last year and a half from my pandemic crowdfunding purchases and I just... have not had the time. Congrats on the game creation project! Huge respect for putting yourself out there and making things.
@@boardandsaviorgames Not sure why I didn't see this comment until now, but 24. I had quite a lot of deliveries last year. 😅 Could be worse, but a number of them are campaign games and will be harder to cross off the list.
Just stumbled upon your channel this morning (YT sucks at recommending things I actually like!) and I've already watched 13 videos! Love what you do, keep it up! Congratulation on the weight loss, you look like a different person today!
I have roughly 200 games at my place (too many, my new year's resolution is to sell a bunch), of which 6 unplayed. Three are multiplayer wargames (Pendragon, Pericles, Gandhi), which require a very dedicated group. One is a two player wargame (which I should finally play today!). The last two games require a big group (New Angeles, Riverbed Hunt). I love learning new games (I even like reading rulebooks), and my girlfriend really likes to try out new titles, so usually a new game gets played quickly. Now I do have a whole bunch of games that got played only 2-3 times, and like 7 campaign games that are halfway, so still some 'work' to do.
The second you sell the multiplayer war games you'll have a group ready to play 😜. For real though, I got rid of a few that haven't hit the table and I wound up regretting it 😤😖
@@JacobRamirez-li9dt So far I have never sold any unplayed games, I love discovering a game for the first time :) I will be stubborn for awhile longer ;)
I definitely want to see a video of your unplayed games and what becomes of them. As far as Patreon goes, I only support a few channels and it's usually only a once a year donation, not a subscription. So, I probably wouldn't financially support you, at least yet, as there are already so many other gaming channels asking for money. I do love your channel, so if you were to do a donation drive, I'd consider it.
Honestly all of these resolutions really resonate with me to be honest. The lamp maybe the least but still a valid point to make. Appreciate seeing you have a good community around you as well. Developing the board game esespecially. I've been cooking one too that I'm very excited for but haven't gotten very far on haha. Anyways, keep up the good work and I'm excited to see what you have in store for 2025!
@boardandsaviorgames will do! Still in the very early stages right now where it's basically all in my head on and notes but I'm going to start making physical parts and piecing it together throughout the year
One piece of advice for developing your own games is to make a prototype ASAP. Try not to care how it looks and it doesn't even have to be a full game (just the core mechanism). If you can play a few turns/rounds it is perfect (ie. Make a deck of 10 cards instead of 50, no need for end game conditions yet, etc., you just need a goal and a turn/round structure). Then give it a quick playtest, evaluate and iterate (or if there is no spark, start over).
I'd be down for a patreon if everyone else is, although I really can't have an opinion as I'm not even allowed to pay for that kind of stuff. Just a few years into having my own collection with 18 games 3 of them + 1 expansion being unplayed but one of themselves Hedbanz so im not sure that should count.
I know there are board game rental services online, to try out games before you buy. But most of the games I'm attracted to are the thick'ems hefty ones that shipping for a rental would not make sense. I honestly have been debating on in my area offering a "try before you buy" type service, but on top of being able to try the game, we would meet in a public place like a local game store and I would run the game and teach the rules without having to read ANOTHER rulebook to get started. Which is something I wish I had, because I have games where I want to play but I do not want to learn by myself (like marvel champions ATM).
I understand that pull to the thick’ems. My last purchase of 2024 was Andromeda’s Edge, so that’ll be *37 games to play in ‘25… A try before you buy service sounds amazing and honestly like the kind of thing that’s perfect right now. Seems like money is getting tighter across the board so any little ways to help people save will probably be a hit
I have 6 games on my Shelf of Opportunity, in my collection of 42. Feels like too many :) I’ll be trying to hold off on buying more, and trying to play my collection and getting my unplayed played. Get to the backlog, it will only get bigger!
Floorlamp: Philips Hue (gradient) Signe. Small footprint, different light options (daylight, reading, all colours, intensities, ...) and cool design. Not cheap though. I have mine for 5+ years and would replace it with the same, if it ever would fail me. I even bought a second one for on my desk.

Very good to know, and very sweet as well! Good luck saving for that house (make sure there’s a nice game room before you buy)
Love your sense of humour. 😊
Happy New Year!!🎉
Yes!!! To the unplayed games! I have 16 unplayed games and all were acquired this year......😅 love your videos!
