Mark got jealous because Tom & Travis did the boxcar racer side project, thought they were gonna kick him out of Blink. He started checking Toms messages and turning up at the studio unexpectedly, Tom grew weary of Marks behaviour and confronted him about it, they decided they needed a break. They had a break and got back together after Travis's accident but it just didn't feel right, they'd grown apart. They argued and split once more, for good.
And then let's fast forward many years later.... Tom releases "Dream Walker" during Dec. 2014 which was his best album since the "Untitled" album and Mark gets mad again and Tom is out Jan 2015.
***** The worst part is the... I was following these shows via youtube, you know, since years ago, and I see them get better and better, I even started to think "Fuck, they see so happy playing together, like old times, the new album maybe will be better"... it hurts I was so wrong :(
Definitely. They have an acoustic album, but it's unofficial. Someone recorded the acoustic music and just placed the singing tracks over it. But they need to actually make one.
of all of Tom's many great riffs, _Wasting Time_ has always been my favorite. it also happens to be one of his hardest riffs to play. and he just effortlessly nails it - pretty much - here, despite frequently flubbing even his most base, easy guitar parts. what seems to be the issue is that the _older_ a blink-182 song is, the better the guitar riffs are. and, weirdly, ALSO the more likely Tom will play it well live. Tom's _Wasting Time_ and _Carousel_ guitar parts are his hardest ones to play, and also the ones he almost always nails. so either it's some bizarrely advanced, deep joke of his or there's just some mental block set up with the stuff he wrote when he was, like, 20 years old. but seriously, though - _Cheshire Cat_ is LONG on great guitar riffs. _M&Ms, Carousel, Wasting Time._ all great, great stuff of his. the best guitar parts he ever did were on that record. _Enema of the State_ has the best songs, _Dude Ranch_ a close second. and _Cheshire Cat_ has the best guitar parts. so basically, as FAKE and re-recorded as it admittedly IS, _The Mark, Tom & Travis Show_ is the album i _most_ recommend to people who don't know Blink.
Touchdown Boy, Ben Wah Balls, and Toast and Bananas are all harder than Carousel. If anything, I would argue Carousel is the easiest in that list. Wasting Time is definitely up there with the others though. Tom is an absolute beast when it comes to downpicking, but I think he just likes to get drunk at shows; pretty sure was sober here 😂
Those older riffs are faster but not necessarily better. Tom started to write smarter parts that were technically easier to play but also musically more advanced
Tom actually started taking singing lessons between Untitled and the first AVA record. He actually sings pretty well live (not perfect though) with AVA, but I read somewhere that he sings poorly with blink-182 on purpose because everyone kind of expects him to/for nostalgia.

All I know is, if you look at the AVA live performances from right before the pandemic he was killing it. Hope his shows coming up soon are even better!
Wasting time is the best my fav songs of Blink182 in their Cheshire Cat album, instead M+M's, and Carousel. I'm overthinking that I was in the band to impress my crush, act real tough, and writing song about her :D But that never gonna happen cause I'm stoopid and doombass :D Thanks Blink182 for your great songs 😍
i really think give me one good reason might be the most underrated blink song. it was on such a popular album but seems to be one of the least popular on it and gets forgotten about
Cheshire Cat and dude ranch are popular :/. Dude ranch is actually probably the most main stream blink because Josie and dammit are still played on the radio to this day.
I can’t believe this was over 10 years ago…I remember back when that this tour came to be, I thought it was going to be a spectacle because of their age. Now 10 years later, i feel this current tour was what was missing with this previous one here. Seeing the boys this Sunday in Nashville btw. 😉
@@JacksonArmstrong-uk1qq me too. Seeing them in St.Louis. Dropped half a grand for it. I live for their shows, so I have something to look forward to. 🤙
Man I'd give so much for them to put out an acoustic EP or something. Or maybe 4-5 bonus tracks at the end of their next album that's just acoustic versions of some songs.
9 years later and I still think this the best blink will ever be. The ‘Neighborhoods’ era gets so over looked, but imo, this was the time that truly showed their advancements as musicians.
I was listening to this in pure bliss, after watching vids from late 2009 to early 2011, thinking toms voice was never going to go back to blink after ava. This is amazing.
ohh my days 24hrs before my birthday gutted i couldnt see them in london on 25th july on plus side saw them @ o2 arena epic gig never heard a better band sound so damn good glad they're doing different set lists for every gig :)
god I wish I could of seem this live . hey I'm glad I just got to meet them and go to their shows ( the one a cricket was a joke ) but the two others were soooo badass

Fucking Mark singing along and Tom sounding great and Travis being his usual talented self ugh I wanna cry
omg I know, they sound amazing here
Leo D same tho
+Maja Idk sweet
Wasting Time sounds so awesome acoustic
Nope, you wrong
Yeah... But since 2016 Mark forgot all the blink past for his commercial shitly songs of California & Nine
@@sebastiancarrillo1769 glad someone else said it. No doubt it’s some part of Tom leaving
Hell yes.
One good reason tho......
It just hits different

wtf, how do you even know that? checking toms messages?
wikileaks, man!
I really like this version of Wasting Time. It's like a campfire version of the song, very intimate and hits right at home.
Give Me One Good Reason played acoustic makes me wish for an acoustic album.
makes me wish they were still a functional band

I'm still devestated.

Tom is so freaking good here. I wish we could've gotten an acoustic blink album
Love that Tom looks at Travis at the end of Wasting Time and says "that was good!" These guys should do a punk goes acoustic album
Definitely. They have an acoustic album, but it's unofficial. Someone recorded the acoustic music and just placed the singing tracks over it. But they need to actually make one.

Monkey D. Luffy Jr. That's the one I'm talking about. It's unofficial. Means, they had nothing to do with it.
Doesn't mean it sucks, i think ot's still great
Monkey D. Luffy Jr. If the vocals were redone. I'm not saying it's bad either, but I like official.

Yea to me it’s the best song on the whole album
People don't sing "Wasting Time" because it's mostly die hard blink fans who know it. And "Give Me One Good Reason" is from Blink's mainstream era.

3 legends. This was wholesome to watch.
It really hurt to hear mark say you'll do great tom I got your back..

Brings back so many good memories with these songs!! :) Wish they could stick together just for the "kids".

Holy Christ! Incredible
I love Tom’s guitar too it’s beautiful I wonder if he still has it
The Girl in Wasting Time is a metaphor for Blink 182. Is mark siting at home thinking about blink, or is he just wasting his time?
And to see this is one of those shows Travis made baring in mind he was scared of flying and probably still is after 2008

A Dios gracias cuando a blink se le ocurre agregar canciones "no singles" de sus discos más viejos a los sets, y más cuando los hacen "acústicos"
Now if only these deep cuts could make their plugged in concerts too. Acoustic Wasting Time is awesome.
