I am not at all surprised that you are a 5-star host. You certainly have the gift of hospitality! Your rentals continue to look beautiful. The one positive thing about impossible to please guests is that their stay is only temporary!
I don’t anticipate ever being an AirBnB host but I appreciate you sharing this info - it’s fascinating and I can totally see the care and effort you put into hosting. If I’m ever in “your neck of the woods,” I’d be thrilled to stay at one of your properties. ❤
I’ve stayed in dozens guest rentals and only once (in Portugal) have I met a similar level of care that I see in your preparations. Most of the time, places did show a bit of tear and wear but also, they were not arranged or designed with the same level of effort or imagination when it comes to needs of guest. If I ever visit Canada (currently staying literally on the other side of the world) I would love to visit one of your cabins!
Oh my goodness that cleaning list couldn’t have come at a better time. I have guests arriving today and they are staying in our guest house and it will be perfect to go over and make sure that everything is ready for them! As always thank you for all your hard work, love your videos and have a wonderful Thanksgiving 💕
I’m one of those who notices the little things. 😬 🤷♀️ lol I’ve noticed some housekeepers clean “from the counter top down”. (A lot of people do this) Most have been absolutely amazing, but it’s important to make sure cabinets faces, open shelves, tops of fridges, tops of tubs or shower inserts, shower curtain rods, etc are addressed. The last one I was in, I cleaned. From the countertop down, it was spotless. 😂
Both rentals are beautiful and im sure you have reaped the benefits of all that you put into the renovations. You have such a wonderful personality on your Chanel and no doubt your ❤ is in everything you do. I am going to download your checklist thanks for sharing. BTW have any of your TH-cam subscribers stayed in your rentals -I was wondering. Thanks for sharing in all that you do!
Your cabins are absolutely wonderful looking. I live in France and have owned a small scale campsite (16 pitches) and have 2 holiday lets on our property. They are proper old French houses with 60cm thick stone walls. There is always a lot of upkeep. I do the cleaning mostly myself, sometimes with help and it stresses me out so much to get everything just perfect. I also do the laundry in house, plus I cook 3 dinners per week during the summer months (also for the campsite guests) We rent out by week in the summer, the rest of the year it is a minimum of 3 nights. We only ever used our own website and word of mouth as 'advertising' and we've had loads of returning guests, which we take as a compliment. Now it is time to move on and leave the property in the hands of the next owners. We are 'retiring' 😄 Some of our guests have 'promised' us that they will set up camp in the garden of our new place. Haha.
You are always so lovely! The Cabins are so welcoming and comfortable looking. I do have a question about your binder LOL. Is it an organizer or day timer style? I know you would be really organized and I am looking to get some kind of binder organizer. Do you have any wisdom or tips on organizing your time?
Thanks so much! 🩷 The binder in our cabins is a guidebook for our guests. But for my own organization I'm all digital. I use Google Calendar because it integrates with all my other apps (like my cleaning scheduler & rental management system). I also really like an app called Sectograoh to time block my days!
Your cabins always look so clean, something I love when I go away because we have stayed at some rentals that are not very clean. Unfortunately the odd guests you have had that are unpleasant, they would probably complain at 5 star hotels. Some people are just never happy. Keep up the good work.
I would like to see a realistic view of what your airbnb looks like after a renter and before the cleaning is done. I am just curious how renters tend to leave it. We have a second home but right now only rent to friends and family and in fact don't even have a cleaning service come in. Each renter just cleans it before they leave.
I can't believe people would be so picky and rude. People like that need to work on a job where you wait or serve people, they would have a change of attitude. Just work with the public for about a year. I'm so sorry you have had people like that.

Thank you! Very true. 🩷
You set the standard with your level of care for your guests. I’m sure they appreciate all the touches!
Your cabins are gorgeous. I love your attention to the tiny details ❤
Thank you so much!

Thank you so much! 🩷 Yes, we've had the pleasure of hosting some of my subscribers at the cabins.
Wow thanks for the info😊5 -star congratulations 😊
Beautiful cabins and you make it so welcoming for your guest!!!
Thank you so much! 💕
Beautiful cabins. Great job!👍
Thank you! 😊
Hi Christina. I have been hosting for 7 years now and love it. Unfortunately. You cant please all the people all the time. But we do our best. ❤
That's right! ☺️
There should be a star rating for unhappy/problematic guests that Air B&B hosts can access.
Yes, we can rate Airbnb guests and indicate whether or not we'd host them again.
I would love to have a stay at one of these lovely cabins! Researching...
Did you post a Vrbo link? I can't seem to find you!
Thank you! Our website is littlelakehouse.ca
Love your channel! I have often wondered if your family ever uses the rentals? Keep up the great work.
Yes, we use them periodically. It's fun and it helps us see if anything needs to be fixed. Thank you!

Congratulations on retiring from that big job! It's so much work, but it sounds like you did a fantastic job.
Branded hoodie? Cool!
Hi Cristina, I cannot even imagine finding fault? Really? They must be fussy unhappy people, your cabins are beautiful and thoughtful. ❤
Thank you so much!

Great job with all your personal touches, however that couch arm tray is just asking for things to spill on the couch. We rent a vacation home too.

Thank you! I think the cleanliness of the properties is the most important aspect.

We're actually usually very impressed with how our guests leave the cabin. Most leave them almost spotless!
Very nice! Question: what part of the world are these rentals in?
Thank you! I'm on Alberta, Canada.
❤❤❤
Where could I get a list of all the inventory items needed for a rental?
Here's my ultimate checklist for setting up a vacation rental: thediymommy.com/ultimate-airbnb-host-checklist-for-setting-up-your-rental/
You need to find a cabin for your use.
We do use these. ☺️
👍👍

Is 5 star the same as a super host?
Yes, on Airbnb any host above 4.8 stars that has a good response rate and with the minimum number of bookings is a Superhost.
Woohoo @@thediymommy🎉🎉🎉
You are doing a wonderful job with your rentals!❤️
As for the guests who are hard to please, I’m certain they treat everyone like that. It’s not you.
Thank you!
