This video makes me feel old. It does not seem that long ago I would spend time and money buying DVD players. I thought it was great when I purchased a Philips DVD player with HDMI output.

There's a small gold plated eye in the laser assembly and two small strong magnets, (think they're earth magnets ), in the assembly.

I’d imagine the Hilander DVD player would be the best one. The name brand players are probably region locked to the stupid DVD region Australia was assigned to. The no name brand players usually were region free plus they did karaoke.

It was the worst one for scrap Karl - hardly anything in it!

Those coils you are thinking about micro-scrapping: I crack the ferrite core with some pliers, and thread one of the steel rods I get from the DVD section through to allow the coil housing to spin freely while I pull of the wire. Quite fun! Oh yeah - very occasionally devices like these have gold plated audio connectors, I look out for those.

Yep, they are kind of fun to pull the wire from David - and that's more or less the method I use. When I get 10 largish ones, I'll do a quick video on them and weigh up the wire 👍😊

Great video brother I love the hand written lists as always.. the boards in the faces I get away with selling as power boards .. but I pull all the copper off to melt from those power boards .. I love your videos brother you have a great voice for teaching my friend you speak very well .. can’t wait to see that table
