Hello sir, Thank you for this video. My question is, I am currently studying undergraduate program, can I apply to Fulbright scholarship while I have one semester left?
I have a question in middle of university selection and visage process, they are asking to take toefl. Although students already submitted the Duolingo report before the results. Do you have any idea about that
Every university has a different policy, some prefer TOEFL only, some TOEFL/IELTS & some prefer one of the three options TOEFL, IELTS and Duolingo. So if the uni requires TOEFL then you need to take TOEFL.
Thanks for the response and in case they can't make the results as needed then is there any school policy course or students have to give the test until they get the score right one.
You have to meet their minimum threshold score, if someone is unable to score it, then they will drop that candidate. I know few cases in the past, where students were unable to get the required TOEFL score and the names were removed from the principal candidates list.
Hi, very informative video! My question is, if I get the full bright scholarship for MS, can I explore the possibilities of pursuing PhD after that or is it against the agreement to return to home country? Please clarify Ps: PhD funded by uni or other means not by fullbright Thank you!
What do you mean that we wont get into top notch schools if we get acceptance from any one of them ? Even if we're willing to pay the tution fee ourselves ? Please explain !
I am referring to the Fulbright scholarship process. You are allowed to apply to 4 universities and you need to study in one. The final decision of selecting a uni is not on you. It’s the Fulbright scholarship administration decision. So we have seen many cases in the past where students got admitted in both top notch universities as well as low tier universities and they were placed in low tier rather than top notch due to budget reasons. I hope this clarifies!
i am planning to apply for 2026-27 ,i checked the official site and the eligibilty requirements it says it also needs tofle...so do i have to take both?
Is it necessary for phd students to serve for 5 years in home country or there are two years for phd too. I heard that phds also need to serve for two years only!!!
Its 5 years for PhD because the scholarship is sponsored by local Govt which has a condiiton to serve 5 years. But J1 condition is 2 years. Which country are you applying from?
Please sir, you said the entire process takes about one year to complete. And I will be completing my degree program in 2026 Before August and I really want to have the Fulbright scholarship before that date. So that means I have to apply this year or u should wait until next year January? Thank you
If your degree is going to be completed this year, then apply this year, for Fulbright Scholarship else apply to the direct admissions scholarship this year.

TOEFL is usually required at the interview stage, when you are shortlisted.
