    I absolutely loved this, Navajo Grandma. Thank you for always being so transparent and loving in sharing much needed history. Furthermore, so many people view Christianity as the “white man’s religion” without realizing that Jesus showed the way to many throughout the land long before colonization. I appreciate how you never stop sharing that aspect, too. I send you my love, prayers, and also have a beautiful Mother’s Day!

      @@NavajoGrandma thank you! No, I am not a mom (my baby is with the Lord 👼🏽 ), BUT I am a former educator who influenced the lives of children of all ages for 20 years (until I retired early from Education last year) and I am a cat mom to a tabby - LOL. Moreover, I still have my mom and she is absolutely wonderful. I am so blessed to have her and my dad in my life and they’re still happily married. Mother’s Day will be beautiful!

      HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO MY PRETTY GIRL!!! Goodness time flies so fast, I have been so busy and doing grade school presentations and trying to save the Navajo Nation and remaining involved, goodness its a full time job. Prayer is so important. Thank you for your kind words Amye. I want you to know because of your one question long ago, it continues to open doors to all Jews, all Nations everywhere and it is an absolute honor that you were the one who opened these doors with your questions. There are those who are creepy but for the most part, they are full of happy knowledge and celebrate your question and answers that have driven deep into my life and past and my ancestral generations of Paternal and Maternal lines. See why you were so important to open these doors and why you are here. Look what you did to me LOL!! No I am serious you opened the world to asking questions that everyone has had in their hearts and spirit. Thank you and may you be blessed for this. God has a plan for you woman. Love and Hugs. Just saw this, I haven’t been getting notifications. They stole our story, yes, but it is all our story. Your grandfather was one of the few to treasure, respect and remember our place in the story. The court case, the trust indenture. Prayer is the best teacher are words of wisdom that sound foolish to those who don’t walk in prayer and with spirit. If you take the father’s hand and follow the son’s path , they just seem so true one forgets to say it. 💚🙏🏻

      @@NavajoGrandma thank you for answering back, dear Gramma! I've heard about little 🐻. His great grandparents baptized in the Church in the times of Joseph Smith because they saw fulfilled in him the all-sewn-up man prophecy they had in their traditions. It's amazing.

    • @NavajoGrandma
      @NavajoGrandma  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@EMonzon I just say we still need to be careful what we entrust into what is called documentations of the Scriptures. We need to fast and pray and know for sure but as the Mormons didn't believe this was the Large Plates as it wasn't leading and end readings became out of sorts. It started okay but again I haven't read all of it, but what I read did start out good then it digressed way way into something really really way out of hand. That is not what the Large Plates are intended as you read what they are suppose to be. Thus I am very Leary about what he is presenting. Some have truly believed this and it causes me some worry but again we all have the agency to choose what to believe and what we should not. That is why I even ask that everyone here on Navajo Grandma do not just believe my words but pray and ask God if what I am teaching you all is true. There is only one true source. I pray you will do the same. I felt very shaky about this guy and will not listen or uphold what he has shared. It does sound great but until you read his stuff, its very very unsettling. Pray always. Navajo Grandma

    I had grandparents who lived in Oklahoma and were poor farmers. They didn’t have running water or electricity when I was little & used an old wagon & horse for transportation. I didn’t live with them but visited so I have a little understanding of how you lived. It is hard. In 1959 we moved to the Zuni Reservation where my mother taught for a year. I was 15 & sadly didn’t understand what a wonderful opportunity it was to observe such an ancient culture. We then lived in Gallup for 2 years where I was exposed to the Navajo culture. I am now 80 years old and have lived in New York state for over 60 years. New Mexico ( really the Southwest) has such a special place in my heart even now. When I get to visit I am overcome with such a spiritual feeling in my innermost self. So many wonderful memories, but also some heartache when I think about the disrespectful ways that Native Americans have been treated over so many years. I remember learning ( remember I was 16-18 yrs old) that my Navajo classmates had to live in a boarding school. I didn’t understand the logistics involved at that age, I just thought about the little ones being away from their parents all week. Your videos are bringing back so many memories, so thank you for reminding me and for sharing your life. ❤️🙏

      @jeanroberto5171 MY dear Jean, what beautiful memories, some sad but did you ever write these memories down? You see, you are the only one, you experienced these years and no one else saw it thru your eyes, with your emotions, your thoughts, that only you can write perfectly all of what you went thru. That is the beauty of personal journals, personal experiences, personal thoughts, etc. They belong to you that makes all of your writing so unique & valuable. What you wrote was so interesting & full of personal history that your posterity, family would treasure! You are such a good soul for being in the Navajo reservation as I know you were so kind. You were a light to those Indian children who went to school with you. Thank you so much. Love & hugs. Navajo Grandma

      @jeanroberto5171 You know Jean, we are conditioned to believe that no matter how "old" you & I are, you have more power over life & longevity than you have been taught. You see women who are single cattle hustlers look 35 yrs old because they work. They get up early, take good vitamins, they don't drink coffee, they drink plenty of lemon or lime tepid water, they carry it with them. They walk, run or jog for a good 10 minutes, they put on chapstick, they go to centers where they dance, they pray always, they look to God and pray to live to serve, where kindness has died they give kindness, they teach their grandchildren or neighbor kids, but afford themselves opportunities to help shape a spiraled down society. WE DEFINE, who we are, NOT AGE. I met women ranchers at 89 to 94 years of age and they are gorgeous, youthful women, brighter in mind than most. ITS LIVING, SERVING. LOVING, HUGGING & BEING HUGGED, READING, staying alive because each life such as yours is worth MORE THAN GOLD and YOU HAVE MORE WORTH THAN EVERYTHING IN & ON THIS PLANET!! So go take a walk in the water at your recreation center, sit in the jacuzzi, lift some cans of soup as weight lifters & begin to develop your muscles, don't allow them to atrify. Walk. Pray for protection, pray you will be guided to be a true Servant of God. Trust in God! He will be with you, guide & direct your life. JEAN, WE ARE AS YOUNG AS WE BELIEVE. Go brush your hair, put on some light rose lip gloss or lipstick. Schmooze on some mascara, put on a nice pair of pants, blouse, dab a little perfume on, walk to a store, window shop with a friend, you never need buy anything, just talk about how & where you would wear that outfit you see in the window, chew some bubble gum, have lunch, enjoy each bite!! Then get a big piece of paper or buy a coloring book and color to your hearts delight! Get some clay & mold something of your childhood, set it where you can see the finished clay mold as a trophy to be proud of. Take out your Bible, say a prayer to feel the spirit of each sentence read some Psalms, enjoy reading for 5 to 10 minutes. Ponder what you read. Pray again with gratitude that you can read, think, do, for all you have been blessed with. Then get those Campbell soup cans out again, do some more lifting, train your mind by being constructive thru prayer. Ask God to give you strength. Sunday, go to church, dressed up, lip gloss, hair combed. Look around & sit by someone who looks the loneliest. Smile be a friend, shake elbows, it's cold season, wear gloves. Smile like you just won a million $$'s. Jean, you have power over life. I know. God knows. Hugs from Navajo Grandma

I am an only child they would play with me best they could. Papa could work all day in garden They planted corn beans and squash squash in.west the beans would grow on corn. I cherish all the memories.Thank you for sharing.

      Nothing like our precious grandparents! Happy they also taught you. No wonder you are such a loving empathetic soul. Not that you can't be otherwise but grandparents are that extra goodness. Hugs from Navajo Grandma

      These are old for some and that temple is older than old which is atop Cabezon Peak in New Mexico. I believe it is a close to 4,000 foot climb. It is a view that few have seen. Our Paternal line use to go up the south stairways which has become destroyed. Thus you go straight up. Yikes but when I was young it was different. Then the others are old photos as well as the Navajo ancient buildings behind me are amazing. My great grandfather didn't excavate this one. But thank you. Hugs from Navajo Grandma

    How was Christianity brought to Navajos before the arrival of Europeans? Quite interesting.

    • @NavajoGrandma
      @NavajoGrandma  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know it was not called Christianity as you call it. It was worshipping God and that was the way of life coming with the people our ancestors from the East. You need to understand, our jargon of today does not fit into the Native American jargon you are use to. God, Jesus Christ and the HOly Spirit are the Holy Ones. As you can tell calling it Christianity can draw a lot of ire and that is what evil likes and also brings on anger and justification that it is anglocized and not Native worship. So yes, this worship came with our ancestors and remained, but as always, goodness and holiness always becomes derailed by those who feel it is too conforming and too hard to live and thus mythology popped up. Man's own imaginations and man's way of thinking to lessen the true holiness that man was created for. Evil is always the other side of the coin and it is evil when you do not adhere to the godly potential and godliness you were born from. You were made in the image of God. So if that is hard to swallow, then its your right to reject it. I know there are comments stating Indians are filthy and are dumb idiots and remain such. Well they are not talking about Navajo Grandma that's for sure. Hope you understand what is simple to us in worship. I am so grateful my Nali taught us correct principles and taught us what was handed down to him and his fathers father's and so forth. He refused to teach us mythology which are the teachings of men regarding spiritualism. Navajo Grandma
