VOB shows their angriness thru this song. In fact they found many cruel condition on the way to become rock musicians. Thx for your reaction, wish you give other reactions to VOB.
VOB really had a very difficult path to success.. and under such circumstances that followed them, hardly any band would succeed, but they did and they proved that dreams can come true.. and they are on the right path
Hello again MK and thanks for more VOB! Yes, they know very well about anger! Usually publicly constrained by the "politeness norms" of their religion, on stage they can unleash. They have spoken in the past about how their practice space was the one place that "accommodated all the fury of our feelings," now they have found other outlets. To really pull this song off, you have to "feel" it, and here, in France, where some of the most restrictive laws are in place regarding the wearing of religious clothing, they "feel" it!
I cry every time I see their performance on this track, especially when they enter F section... You can imagine what path they have gone through all this time...
Speaking of the high quality that VOB has..I highly recommend the reaction to "Kentut Merdeka" or "Say No To A Sick Act" from VOB live in Jakarta 2019..that song is literally a masterpiece...pure progressive metal..I have heard every song from VOB, but Kentut Merdeka is something special..you will be pleasantly surprised..
I've been enjoying your reactions. The VoB trajectory has three phases, each with a slightly different musical emphasis. VoB seem to have been managed by their guidance teacher Abah Ezra from 2014 when they began up to around 2020 when Amity Indonesia assisted in facilitating European tours and subsequently an American tour and were appointed as their management company. At the same time 12Wired of Indonesia became their record label. In December 2023 VoB split from Amity/12Wired. I suspect they were being pushed in a direction with which they were unhappy. There is a strong punk attitude about these women. Prior to 2020 there is a lot of video of them performing in Indonesia a mix (mostly) of covers and some of their own material. The Other Side of Metalism is from this time. Between 2020 and 2023 there are videos of concerts in Europe, the USA, Taiwan and Indonesia where they are increasingly accompanied by backing tracks. Their album Retas dates from this time. Since December 2023 there are concerts in Indonesia where they have returned to a simpler stage presentation, their original punk attitude while not losing a jot of musicality. There's a studio version of The Other Side of Metalism from early December and new song, Mighty Island, they've road-tested at two or possibly three concerts. Many treasures await you.
Thank you, and thanks for all that good information. I know some bands go through phases, and you always hope the reason is due to shifting musical interests as opposed to pressure from record execs. I admit that backing tracks can make me a little nervous for bands like this (where for me a large part of the interest is just from the raw aggression and power), but I'll always give them a fair chance. I've seen some other similar rock bands use the backing tracks live pretty successfully (like the Warning).
@@DadDaughtersandDrinks I wouldn't want to make too much of the backing tracks; they feature on a handful of the Retas songs and were used in some of the later 2022-23 live concerts. My concern was more issues of on-stage image and the random, small club venues of the American tour which their then management seemed to be using to lever them on to the Hu tour, which they wisely declined (excellent though the Hu are in their own way, it seemed an inappropriate fit for VoB). There's also some talk that they made very little from the American adventure. Now back home, they've recovered their punk attitudes and reverted to an earlier version of their logo with the incorporation of a red star. Some Western folks have seen this as a retreat. However, what we often forget is that Indonesia has a population of 280M and Southeast Asia, 800M. They're playing in a big pond; it's just not a Western pond. Live performances with good visuals and sound you might to check out are Transmusicales Rennes 2021, Pasiwali Taiwan 2022, Hellprint, Cimahi, 2023, and Hari Amal Bhakti Kementerian Agama, Jakarta 2024. Keep up the good work!
They already meet their idol Tom morrelo and tom show all support and wishes all the best for this young girls. Love it, they deserve so much support and love.
Hi Dad. Thanks for following my suggestion 🙏 You can go through all this concert without hesitation, one of their best in my opinion. Greetings from Switzerland. 🧕🧕🧕🤘✊💪
What Does the Voice of Baceprot Really Mean? In "Sundanese" (an ethnic group in Indonesia), baceprot means chatty or noisy. As the name suggests, the Voice of Baceprot personnel also try to make noise with their songs. That's why the band consisting of Firda (vocalist), Siti (drummer) and Widi (bassist) was named Voice of Baceprot. They want to voice their anxiety about things that are happening around them through rock numbers, for example 'School Revolution', 'The Enemy of Earth is You', to 'Houses with Land Not for Sale', and so on. These songs usually contain social criticism that originates from their observations and is conveyed in the song from their point of view.
Just response to your nice reaction. Basically they know each other. Tom Morello contacted them I think back in 2018 to invite for performance in the US. Unfortunately got cancel because of the visa problem.
I have seen him play; his renditions of some popular songs like Bohemian Rhapsody are just breath-taking. Are there any specific songs you'd like me to look at?
greeting from Jakarta. Thank you very much dad for your very nice reaction. Be healthy always and wish you all the best
Thank you for your kind words. I wish you the best also! Greetings from Texas :-)
