    This is perfect for our small office. I love it. Finally, no more ripping off consumers with ink refill.

    I'm looking for a printer that would allow me to print my own custom direct mail postcards. Is the print quality of this machine acceptable?

      Epson's are use at the college Photograpy class I was in. The thing with any printer is to use the paper that goes with the Printer. Use Epson ink jet paper with Epson, Canon with Canon and so forth. I say this from what happened in class. Our Professor told us all to get a certain Epson paper. One student got Cannon because it was cheaper and was so very disapointed when his photo came out with an Orange Color instead of a bold pink. Hope this helped. Plus learn the color settings before printing. Best Buy has one that is $330+ or a little more. That is my next printer. I have 2. This one is much more exconomica, ink wise.

    It looks like a really good printer. It was originally listed for either $650.99 ir $699.99, but at that price they could not keep it in stock. So to cut demand to meet their ability to supply it, they raised the price. At least that is my opinion why. They still do not have any readily available except by a waiting list even at the higher price.
    It is true that they do not recommend using papers other than their own, but what printer manufacturer is not going to tell you that? It is sad that the ET-16500 is not designed to print over 60# paper, yet then again, I have printed for years on HPs that were not suppose to take 110# stock without a problem. My issue with HP is the ever increasing ink cost, especially of older styles of HP cartridges.
    So the Epson Eco Tank idea looks great to me. My 3 concerns are availability, price, and the unknown concerning the durability and replacement cost (if it can be replaced) of the new printhead technology. Is the only option to replace the entire machine?
    If it had all the features the ET-16500, has as well as the higher recommended running workload and paper capacity it does have, I would go up a level and for only a little more than the current price of the 16500, I would get the next level up version of the Epson Eco; although I admit that the bags of ink on it, as opposed to the bottle filled versions of lower priced Ecos, does bother me. I fear the price of the bags will jump up faster than on the bottles, since it seems less likely to have 3rd party competition ink supplies to help keep the Epson bottle prices in check.
    If the price comes back down and there is one readily available, especially in a local store rather than on-line only. I will certainly want one of these. However, with the uncertainty of the print-head tech and no added warranty, like Best Buy and other store added warranties should be wiling to provide, I think I will chew on the bullet a bit longer and buy a couple more HP cartridges and wait it out.

      I don't think it will take that size. Not sure. Look at the paper size if it on here. That's sounds like the one I have, that I want to get rid of, Takes 5 cartrideges.

    • @fr1day1700
      @fr1day1700 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      For those in need of information, short answer is it cannot print borderless. Besides that one limitation, I really like the printer. I kinda wonder if they can fix it with an update on the driver.

      You are proberly right since black will be printed with CMY.
      A fifth color (photoblack) would be much better.

      This printer wasn't intended for photo-quality prints. It's great for quick color prints but that's about it. I would look at the Epson SureColor P800 17" Inkjet Color Printer that uses 9 colors of ink and works well with photo quality papers. In any print being made, the type of inks (pigmented vs dye) and papers (archival vs basic) have a different process for the job it was designed to do. I have an Epson Workforce 4540 for just plain old printing/scanning. I have an Epson Sure Color P600 (13in) and a Selphy (4x6) for my photography prints.
