- in this video we go over all the common issues since the release of the Bmw E60...
now as many of you are aware the Bmw e60 is given a bad bad name for many many faults which are all fixed completely free and cheap and with a big of common sense and knowledge I go over all the issues addressed here and explain why they fail and how they fail and how to repair the problems all these problems are fixed free and easy
A worn steering wheel is definitely a sign the car has had a hard life. You are definitely right, looked at one today steering wheel was worn but drove nice. The engine now was caked in oil, like it was everywhere even the air box. I walked away
I actually ended up buying 520d 2007 nfl automatic and tbh I had some issues with it but nothing astronomical. The steering wheel is worn but I'm not surprised because the heat in the summer it's just ridiculous and you can't really do anything about that
Life is too short to deal with all this.
It's a never ending story
All problems can be fixable with a bit of common sense as you've highlighted all faults and problems that occur with the e60s giving also solution and cure on the plate.
People should now buy them with confidence after gaining your (expertise) knowledge making life easier and livable with the sexy e60 model.
D.I.Y is the way forward to save money and having peace of mind, knowing the job is done correctly (the BMW doctors way). A*

@@BMWDoctor your comment about the spider wheels is very interesting, I've got vibration in my steering wheel around 70mph to 80 mph had wheels balanced new tyres tracking done , I had disc and pads done under warranty , still got the vibration so checking the inner wheel from cracks sounds likely 👍

Did you really just refer to the rear tire wear to be a common problem on the car? What rear wheel drive car would that not be a common problem on? Technically tire wear is a common problem on any car. That is not car specific.

I was thinking about buying one of these. 520d 2007 automatic gearbox. With the car I have atm every single time something happens I’ll fix it straight away. I’ll take it to the mechanic actually. The thing is that so far all I see and hear it’s only the common problems which are way too many. Looks like there’s only issues with it 🤷♂️
It looks beautiful and it drives beautiful too ( I drove one for a few hours) but there’s an endless number of issue with it.
That’s what it looks like to me and now i have 2nd thoughts on buying one 😅

Same. I was thinking seriously about buying one because they are not prone to rust but the electronics all in the trunk with leaks and seat heater overheating is not reassuring.
Do you have any advice on a clunk/gear jump issue on initial start up after the car has been parked for a couple hours/overnight? What I've experienced is that it feels like the car is jumping out of a gear. When I searched the forums I found some people saying that it is the fluid that has drained from the trans system and needs to be pumped back in which causes the initial clunk. Others say the trans ecu needs to be reset.

I have a problem with mine, 520d 2008 auto,, the problem just came up on dashboard on mine is.. RESTRAINT SYSTEM FAULTY.... i’ve been checking this problem on here and apparently it it a common problem on bmw, some say its easy fix? Some on here telling how it cost them over £1500 to put it right, obviously I don’t want to spend that kind of money on it, but id appreciate if you could tell me anything about it, where do you think the problem is, is it safe to drive as is?? Let me know please.. thank you 🙏

Hello Doc! Do you know the problem of ventilation on my E60 -05, sometimes it goes really well and sometimes when you want to increase the strength, nothing happens, neither sounds or blows. BTW, best Chanel for BMW owners. Good work!
Also when this problem happens with the airflow the heat on the seat doesn't work either.
Check air blower motor, relay and resistor. Check the power current and resistance
Sir I have BME 5 SERIES (E60) ISSUE IS THAN I START ANDT GO TO ROAD PUS RACE NORMAL IF ANY TIME I PUSHED THE RACE CAR ENJON IS OFF. AND SWITCH TO START. BRO WHAT PROBLEM.

Hi Doctor, this issue is driving me crazy. I have a 2009 630i convertible (E63) and very frequently when I stop at traffic lights and release the break for the car to start moving, it doesn't respond for a few milliseconds and then it feels as if the gear kicks in. Sometimes I may even roll back for a few inches. I have changed the upper section of my automatic gear shift as it was faulty and changed the gearbox oil twice, with no result. Any recommendations on how to fix.

It's a bit late but just bought 05 545i and my idrive is doing exactly what you described. How do you fix it ? Is there anyway or an aftermarket I can use ? . Or can I just run a blue tooth which dontou recommend?.

@@2020Viszion usually with a smg there are a lot of problems sadly. It is a turbo v8 with cooling issues. The best bmws are actually the worst to own 😂.
What about the problem of the steering wheel shaking when you turn it lock to lock while at a stop with the brake on? I've never heard anyone diagnose that.
that is true as there is no fix mate get used to owning a E60 Many people have changed the whole suspension system trying to fix this and you cant its something thats normal on E60

mate to be honest with you it aint that great it feels like there is extra power but its not if I honest with you its still installed on my car and I hardly use it mate the only time I use it is mainly for take off at the lights to get infant it makes the throttle as light as a feather its really really good for take off and quick gear shifts but that's about it Its not something I can rate to use all the time please remember I got this given to me for review for me it cost me nothing to do and nothing to buy for someone else it aint worth there money it is quite expensive for what it is and to be honest I've had sprint boosters before that did the same thing this company took over sprint booster and now there owned by a German company

Hey dr dean you mention you got a 4w alignment/track and toe. Can you explain. Possibly make a video as to the pros and cons as to why/why not bmw vehicles are supposedly ment to be weighed down during the alignment process? There is a lot of conflicting info out there on forums bro. Cheers🤙
That’s why you can’t trust the forums I now have the hunter machine so I do all the wheel alignment myself the car DOES NOT need to weight down for the alignment if your using proper equipment the weight doesn’t matter at all that’s all crap and stop reading forums on there they have no brains and are clueless to cars
@@BMWDoctor I dont trust the forums mate. The internet is riddled with conflicting information on the subject. A few tyre shops local to me claim to weight the car down. I could never get my head around this because iv never owned other branded vehicles none specifies needing weighted down. Iv looked on bmw tis and cant find any information regarding. Possibly a myth busting vlog on the matter bud?
Mate it’s all bullshit trust me don’t believe everything you read mate the wheel alignement and tracking can be done without the weighing it down people only do that for track cars to make the ride STIFF AND HANDLING

Forget about this car, it is a money pit. I got one about a month ago. Spend close to 1k for a start and problem keeps coming. I mean, you have to “register” battery ?! There is no temperature gauge?! It’s a joke.
I have an 06 e60 525i with a p1727 code... swapped crank sensor...still getting code. Is there a fuse for this sensor?
No there is no fuse if your still getting crank sensor that will probably be your vanos solenoids
How is the car for you in general? Do you recommend buying it? I found one 525i from 2006 with only 110,000km. It is pretty much in new state.
What modules are in the boot? I use my spare tire space as storage space it was empty under there

Hi mate, I've got 2007 BMW 5 series diesel. i have acceleration problem once i hit 50mph its struggles to go past it. if i take my foot off and then press again it goes much better. I have reseted acceleration settings. i have no fault lights on dash, only thing is sometimes oil pressure sensor comes on and then it despairs.. Can that effect performance of car?? in town its fine.... while in park mode if i press acceleration full on it dose not go past 4rpm .... is this car screwed??? thx in advance

Oils leaks like of the M57 engine .. rocker cover oil filter housing and main seal leaks
I have a problem with my E60, when I turn the ignition off, there is a relay clicking sound and the rear brake lights stay on, A quick solution is to disconnect the battery.
But the problem comes back after a few weeks. Any ideas

Dean have you got an email? I've just recently bought an e60 520d with really good service history, had the timing chains water pump turbos etc replaced around 140k, it was running fine although on cold start it was a bit rough. Well yesterday I took it for about an hours drive, lost power during driving, then it cut out, after trying to start a few times got it running and managed to get it home, and it will start then tries to die but if I give it some gas it will stay running, got it booked in Friday but you seem to be the doctor so thought I'd hit you up 👌

Automatic transmission box is clunking when i change into d, r, p etc... Transmission warning light and doesnt work in manual mode... Any ideas

@@BMWDoctor 530d 2004 e60, jolting when i change gear when parked up, its like something is stuck... Sounds bad too and manual mode isn't working... Just revs up doesn't change.
Same issue on my 2010 528i
It randomly skips into a high gear and transmission malfunction light shows up and says drive moderately message and it goes kinda in a limp mode as it does not let you accelerate much. I just turn engine off and turn it back on to fix it but it always happens to me

Yes on the 2001 - 2005 they have alot of issue. Buy a 2006 or newer instead
Teacher Teacher found the problem used INPA this time for the Heck of it to play with it. Found it. Check your E-mail. No parts required. Ista would have pointed me but aborted the the test. Loose O2 sensor. Heater checked good on ohm test. Thought bad O2 not the case.
