I said it many times but I'll say it again, this app is just insane. Thank you for the tutorial mate, wanted to animate my wallpapers for a long time now. :)
Thank you and your hard work, blinking eyes is absolutely bring the photo come to life, i cant thank you enough for this. Keep up the good work friend. Much obliged!
All right here’s the story, i’ve stopped making wallpapers about 7 months ago and i saw your wallpapers get more popular. Also your ideas and new techiques seemed great so after checking out few of your wallpapers i googled: „Wallpaper Engine Animated Eyes”. After watching the whole wideo i wanted to take look at your channel. So i scroll down and i see „Vell” 😂
Im glad some of my videos are helpful :D I mostly stopped making wallpapers myself, not that theyre not fun the content rules on the workshop are just to annoying and i cant post the content i make now. There are a few other kinda neat things that i never got around to making videos about like multilayer shakes or using multiple of the same shake with offset times to create a random movement. I still might but its tricky to find a way to represent... inappropriate content in a youtube friendly way.
Hello Vell! Your vids are very cool! I just discover wallpaper engine and by now i've spent more time watching your chanel than testing it lol... Realy well explained, and gives a lot of ideas. I dont know if you already had one (just dicover your chanel too), i think maybe you should give a try to a pen tablet, espacialy for that kind of stuff, as your knowledge of softwares do the most work not your drawing skills; it would save you a lot of time and the result would be more acurate :) (i personaly use that tool with minecraft world edit for an example, even if it's not mean to; it's realy worth it) Maybe add a link to your workshop in your chanel infos so that people can find easyer your amazing work♥ (sry in advance for my bad english)
i have a (non clickable) link to my profile in my youtube banner, its just the majority of my wallpapers are NSFW and i dont know if youtube allows linking to that sort of content. i do have a table, i just cant draw very well so it didnt make a very big difference, i may try using it if i start making wallpapers again i just havnt wanted to in the last few months
I have been following all your steps however once it go to the blending point around 5:00 minutes instead the blink blending upwards it blends downwards ( I was trying to make a blink for an anime character if that provides any help ) do you know why this happens ?
so i know this video is outdated by about 2 years but im assuming most of the options in wallpaper engine are similar to what they were before, it sounds like your either painting in the wrong mask and changing the timeing/phasing or your not reducing the strength of the brush make sure your painting with 0 power and painting in the actual shake effect not the shakes flow map
actually you can use photoshop to extract the eye and fill the gap with skin color then follow this tutorial so that you can do slow the blinking animation and it will look perfect
I usually do the blinking in photoshop and aftereffects and that takes a load of time, this seems quite fast in comparison. is the any downsides to using this system?
everything in wallpaper engine is contained within wallpaper engine, if your making videos its not a good option, its only for creating looping wallpapers to run in the app
you can use it to make an animation, you would then need to record that animtion with something else to convert it to a video/gif wallpaper engine doesnt have an export feature
in the video its the value slider set to 0, in the current version of wallpaper engine its either value or strength i dont remember. most of what you paint in wallpaper engine is on masks, its either on (white or 100%) or off (black or 0%) any value in between is just on at a lesser amount. Setting the strengh of your brush to 0 is the same as switching to an eraser. you can make it blend together instead of having a harsh line by lowering the hardness and opacity. of the brush
theres an opacity option within the shake effect that you can draw in, when you add the opacity effect it defaults to everything on, to fix that set your brush strength to 0 and press the clear button to fill the opacity canvas with black, then you can swithc back to max strength and paint in your areas as white.
The only ways i know how are either by using the shake effect method in this video or by being able to draw the blinking frames and load them into your wallpaper as a gif
@@enochjames9037 i think my layout is still the default, im just using the obsidian theme to make it black. you can find the default themes under the general tab of wallpaper engines settings. there are a few you need to unlock by doing the konami code hidden achievement on the about tab of settings, can probably google around to find that.
Heya, i love your work and your tutorials, but i wonder how i can save my wallpapers as something i would be able to link to people like a video or gif? I like to do some nsfw myself, but i would need to be able to open it or share it outside of wallpaper :) Many regards me :)
There is no way built into wallpaper engine, But if you right click a wallpaper in your wallpaper browser and click play in window, you can capture that window with a program like OBS and record a 10-30 second video of the wallpaper. Thats how i make the nsfw video animtions on my twitter.
the bounds start at -1, 0 this make it so your shake is always at its maximum displacement, in terms of blinking they the eyes will be fully closed. i then change them to .994, .997 which is the blinking bounds i prefer.
Thanks for the tutorial! So much I don't know yet, all these sliders.. ^^" Unfortunately it didn't really work on my wallpaper because the eyes were quite larger than the space between her eyes and eyebrows, so not enough under-eyebrow-skin to cover the whole eye :/
if it goes semi transparent but still moves overtop of your eye its probably because you didnt use the full black color on the opacity mask. you can try deleting the mask with the red x near the opacity mask and doing it again.
wtf, i've done everything like you and animation doesn't play :c Please help. EDIT: If animation doesn't play you must add dot [ . ] in bounds before 994 and 997.
I love you so much for this, I've been looking for a tutorial on how to do this for a while. YOU HAVE BLESS US. THANK YOU
Same Thank you Vell

I literally knew how I wanted to do this, I just can't find the eraser in this new version I have right now.
Cool video.
Amazing tutorials my dude!
Your tutorials are awesome. Thank you very much. Helped me a lot for my own wallpapers :)
Thanks dude. love ur tutorials c:
still a great, straight to the point, tutorial. thx man.

can you find a tutorial on how to do that?
@@psychedelia6695 I guess there is no tutorial on it I learnt by myself

Thank. Your works are among the best.
I don't understand, how do I remove it like eraser? (like this 4:23)
Your tutorials are great! Thanks
haha I watched this tutorial to use on a wallpaper I was making only to realize that all the characters had helmets, that aside great tutorial!
I can't get it as smooth as you did it even though I followed this to a t. Thanks for the tutorial though
Can you teach me plss how can u download that
My Eye lid is to small so I can't make the blink sadly.
I usually do the blinking in photoshop and aftereffects and that takes a load of time, this seems quite fast in comparison. is the any downsides to using this system?

How do I do this if a character has bangs over their eyes?
Really nice and helpful... Thanks!
can I use content from wallpaper engine for steam artwork?
you can use it to make an animation, you would then need to record that animtion with something else to convert it to a video/gif wallpaper engine doesnt have an export feature
Total noob question, how does one erase the small parts of the circle? like in 4:30, I can't seem to find a way to do that.. at all

Thank you soldier
tried it but lot of my pictures have lock of hairs above the eyes so its almost impossible to apply this method :'(
just photoshop your own image like what i did mine is auesthetic if you want to ask for it try searching fck love v5 or i can send you
You are AWESOME! Thank you!
HOW DO U ADD THE OPACITY TEXTURE
M CONFUSED ON THAT
theres an opacity option within the shake effect that you can draw in, when you add the opacity effect it defaults to everything on, to fix that set your brush strength to 0 and press the clear button to fill the opacity canvas with black, then you can swithc back to max strength and paint in your areas as white.
you're a king
how about those have some hair covering it?
you end up doing the same thing if theres hair or something in the way, it just ends up looking worse, there is no easy way to fix that
Спасибо за хороший tutorial!
its good and all but is there a way to slow it down
just the speed slider, but it will also increase the delay between each blink, lower the speed to like .3 or .4 and it will be noticably slower
There is no Opacity paint texture on my Engine wha should i do?
Do you have the show mask button enabled when your trying to edit the opacity mask, it will be at the bottom near your brush settings.
@@VellAnimations Looks like current version don't have this feature. I can't found those textures on Shake effect
@@Ashborn97 same , there's only the glow textures there
do you know how can i make a 2d anime style art blink?
The only ways i know how are either by using the shake effect method in this video or by being able to draw the blinking frames and load them into your wallpaper as a gif
I was the 200 Like! Good video
wow, thanks, it really helped :)
