Such a top notch team.. all of them were in my opinion. Also the first time I’ve seen Mark give a team a standing ovation.. a magnanimous gesture which I don’t know that we’ll see again anytime soon! 😂 good on you Mark..
I am From Australia, so I don't know as much about Him, But has Mark started To Tame Down (just a little bit) as He gets Older? Nowhere near as often, But He does appear on The Australian Version From Time to Time as well.
STATS: 28 questions asked, 24 correct, 4 wrong, 4 pushbacks and 86% accuracy. PS: What a amazing match between the team and the Beast. If it weren't for the wrong answers that the Chaser gave, he would've won clearly in a CLEAN sweep. How mega would that be, I wonder.
As a LOTR superfan it shocked me when he got that wrong, lol. But those contestants played incredibly well. A well deserved win, even though Beastie Boy was on form.
One of the best ones was when he got 26/26 without getting a question wrong and he took his time too. There's also been times they've caught a higher record, but that wasn't a clean sweep
There have been 2,000+ shows and 8,000+ players and yet the logic(not in this game) of choosing the middle offer, in a full house, when the lower offer is, virtually, the same money, per player, when split, infuriates me especially if the Top offer is 20 times more than the middle so, for example, where the offers are £60,000, £3,000,£1,000 and there is, already, say,£20,000 in the pot, it makes NO sense going for the middle offer . In this example, the player does not go for the 60,000 as they are "one step nearer the chaser" and yet that same player takes the 3,000 over the 1,000 and proves they are not worried about the extra step then and yet ,this time, there is little financial incentive.
@@T0rsentwell general knowledge is meant to be exactly that. You’ll know some niches and be completely useless at others. The reason Mark is there and you’re not is because he’d outscore you 99 times out of 100. You don’t become a chaser because you scored well one-week. You have to be consistent and be clued up on almost any topic
I've always considered that players take A more often but that's probably confirmation bias. I think in reality it's probably closer to 50/50. (Somewhere out there, someone will have the stats!)
Excuse my 70 year old London cynicism but who monitors and sets "A" nd "B"?? Id the 2 envelopes were placed,in view,on the panel desk and the team chose and handed to Brad, that is one thing but they could just hand them either set because they never see the envelopes.
hmmm, must put on my Doc Martins and drive my Honda to buy some Robson's marmalade ( after I've picked up my Optrex eye drops...), then I can take some Nytol and go to sleep.
`Don`t know whether anyone has pointed this out but `The Hobbit` was no more a part of the film trilogy `The Lord of The Rings` than The Silmarilion. But the Chaser, whose answer was rejected ( rightly ) might have swayed the contestants toward The Hobbit -which was accepted, but without justification. Both The Silmarillion and The Hobbit are distinct from the Trilogy "The Lord of The Rings." Therefore both answers were wrong - not least on the grounds that there is no correct answer. Notice, also, that JRR Tolkein was not mentioned in the question. The only thing we can deduce from the question is that there is an Orc called Azok, The Defiler who appeared in a film trilogy - in want of knowing the name of the trilogy. But as I`ve already said, The Hobbit is not a part of the Trilogy. It`s ambiguous at best.
I don’t understand the point you are making. The question just asked which film trilogy Azog the Defiler is in. The hobbit is a film trilogy. Or am I missing a technical point here?
What?? The question was “which film trilogy” and Azog the Defiler is from the film trilogy The Hobbit. He’s not in LotR and there’s no film of The Silmarillion. The correct answer is the answer that was given: The Hobbit.
Very good performance, just a shame that the prize money was relatively small. I would guess they chose cautiously low offers in the head-to-head. It still paid off though, having a full house in the final.
@@gameshowclips Oh dear, I hate contestants who take negative offers. If you think you're that valuable to the team, then you should be good enough to get past the chaser in the head-to-head with at least the middle cash offer.
@@nbartlett6538At the same time, the cash builder and the head-to-head can be two very different ball games due to one being quickfire and one being multiple-choice. We’ve seen plenty of instances in the past where 9s, 10s, and above completely crashed & burned at the table, so it’s no guarantee. That’s why I can always excuse people who take a low offer for the purpose of facilitating getting back to the team for the final chase.
@@nbartlett6538 I agree. The most ridiculous decision in the 8,000+ contestants is when they are offered, for example, "50,000" "3,000" and "1,000" and take the middle offer. Insane logic especially in Seat 4 if you are making up a Full House.
They literally chose a set of questions at the start of the chase and questions are only hard if you don't know the questions. I got more of the contestants than the chasers. Just everyone's knowledge is different
When it's mark, I always love the end of the chase. His comments make it sound like it's a science.
Very humble too, and he’s absolutely right - 21 with pushbacks is phenomenal, he didn’t lose, they won (deservedly of course)

The turning point was definitely when Mark got LOTR and The Hobbit mixed up, but easily done.
As a LOTR superfan it shocked me when he got that wrong, lol. But those contestants played incredibly well. A well deserved win, even though Beastie Boy was on form.
Our new slimmed-down Beastie did sooo well! Kudos dude❤
Mark, you know how to put up a really good fight.
Mark has to be the best chaser, second Shawn mostly because of his singing
He’s slow af though
@@therunawaykid6523 he didnt used to be. he once caught a team that set him 26

A game against Mark is usually a foregone conclusion. On the other hand, when they do win you know they earnt it.
My video's quality was shit anyway
team played very well
Strength in numbers
Mark has lost a lot of weight 😮
Mark's questions were much harder, to be fair. I got 20 on my own with the team's and I'm no quizzer.

Is it just me or do contestants on the UK Chase tend to choose set B over A more often?
I have a theory one set is more difficult then the other A is usually hard mode and B has some easier questions
