Im so excited to have come across your videos! Im living off grid and hopefully this next spring I can start building myself a little pallet castle too! Thanks for sharing your skills and ideas!
Ayeeeeee thanks bud. One board at a time. Glad you like the vibe change got the long form. I’m enjoying the slower more relaxed format for these larger scale videos.
That atmos sound mixed with the satisfying nail gun sfx is so chill. This genuinely looks awesome, so much character but also between the different wood tones and the blue door it actually looks cool too, haha. Awesome job man
Glad you liked the sound! The sounds are part of why I love building so much. And yeah I love how much character you get from repurposed materials. Things got history!
What a great idea to use old sliders as windows. When the one wall was still MIA, and the rain that popped up for a second time, I was looking at that space going and what you’re gonna do put sliders in there. Not even 30 seconds later I see you’re grabbing one of the sliders and taking it around. I laughed. That really is such a good idea. So when do we get to see you building out the inside?
Looks amazing!! Love the different textures of the wood color on the outside. I didn't even think about using sliding glass doors as windows! Can't wait to see more updates :).
Nice job . I had 2 large sliders. I broke them down and plan on using them in my next build the same way . I guess I needed to see your video. Thanks 👍🇺🇸
I hope that we’re able to see you furnish it and add the finishing touches! It honestly looks great. Do you think you’ll add electricity or anything? Even solar would be cool
I’ll definitely add more to the series when I’m ready to do the interior, that’s some of the most fun for me. Solar would be so sick! Maybe electricity, probably just a power chord coming in through the door or something :)
Good question! I’m still trying to learn and identify. Fairly certain the most common are pine, light yellow in color. There are some cedar, light weight red colored wood with the characteristic smell. Some hardwood which I guess would be oak or maple? Don’t know what it is but the boards are thinner and heavy. I’ve found some weird stuff that I can’t identify too
Looks awesome! Did u use gap foam around the windows and door and such? Just curious. I'm sure either way is fine with your temperate weather! Lucky bugger
Thanks Stephan! I didn’t but very well might. Kinda just slapped the trim down to get it out together, but will probably double back and clean it up/do some legit gap filling and caulking for water. Definitely a lot of loose ends to tie up still but the concept is there atleast haha.
I feel like for my purposes it’s not that big of a deal but for precise stuff yes, it can shrink and crack/create gaps or bow into weird positions. Most of this wood has been out in the elements for a long time though so I feel okay about it :)
Aww haha you know I just kinda want to change it up for the long form. Like short form is maximum attention and stimulation where as long form we chilllllll lol
It’s been genuinely so fulfilling watching this project take place over the year and I am as proud of a stranger as a person can be
Haha I appreciate you being here! Can’t believe it’s been like 8 mos since I started lol
It was the short installing windows that drove me here. Good job
Hell yeah haha thanks for checking it out

Looks great, mate! I love the energy difference between the long format and shorts. Killer work as always.

Loving this project! We get to see you finish the inside?
That’s the plan! Though I may take a break and do some smaller side projects. We’ll see 👀 thanks for being here!

Very inspiring, good job
Thank you!! Appreciate you being here.
Amazing job thus far, are you going to make a video of you finishing the interior?
Yes! I’m going to take a short break and build a sauna, then I’ll be back at the interior in the new year!
THANK YOU!!!! 😊
No thank you!!!
Have you tried recycled tin cans for hurricane straps? They work great
Dude that’s so smart! I’ll have to do some experimenting
Just out of curiosity, what wood species are most of these pallets made out of?
It varies, but most pallets are made of pine, oak, or cedar. You can find them made of nearly any species, yet those are the most common.
Good question! I’m still trying to learn and identify. Fairly certain the most common are pine, light yellow in color. This!
Front n back porch next
That would be fun!!! Now you got me thinking…

coffgrid approved
Is wet wood work possibly troublesome? Shrinking and swelling and what not. No gaps to worry about? I have ZERO clue just curious
I feel like for my purposes it’s not that big of a deal but for precise stuff yes, it can shrink and crack/create gaps or bow into weird positions. Most of this wood has been out in the elements for a long time though so I feel okay about it :)
Getm Jake
Getting em!!
Is that recycled pallet siding?
Yup! Nearly all the wood in this build is from pallets including the framing.
@jacobcochrane nice
Need update!!!
Part three. The insomnia persisits
glad I could help lol
And BAM, TH-cam
Welcooomeee!
Is that the metal roofing from the guy in the comment section?
No sadly! Found another nice guy online to get it from
Dang…where is all of the dirt daddy commentary that I am so used to hearing?
Aww haha you know I just kinda want to change it up for the long form. Like short form is maximum attention and stimulation where as long form we chilllllll lol
