DIY Pallet Barn/Shed Build In 10 minutes Timelapse

- This is a quick timelapse overview of how we built our pallet barn out of reclaimed wood. We collected pallets and whatever reclaimed lumber we could find and repurpose. The siding came from old shipping crates and cedar fencing. We still need to add a steel roof to the barn. The pallet barn is roughly 10 feet by 20 feet. We currently house 4 goats in the barn as well as storing 30 bales of hay in the hay loft.

We still need to source our reclaimed steel roofing for the barn, but it's working very well for us. The playlist of each step of the build can be found here: th-cam.com/video/Ab2dSJ1pGFw/w-d-xo.html
How many many hours do you think it took to build that
Why do no YT videos of this type ever include: size of building, date started, date completed, total cost, and total man hours to build?
@@CraigerAce Because TH-camrs are too lazy to do that sort of thing 🤷 🤷♀️
You can find the playlist linked above which explains some of your questions in the various videos of the build process….
Hey, this is amazing! Right now I am in the process of building a tree fort for my grand daughter, who I have custody of. I am building it on a zero dollar budget, and have been collecting wood and anything else I can manage to get my hands on for free. I REALLY APPRECIATE these videos, as I am learning as I go, and this has given e so many ideas! I have the first platform up and will be
adding the walls next, and I love how you did your walls, and I am going to attempt to do mine the same. Thanks So Much !!! Wish me luck please!
Oh yeah, my people! This is what we have done to build our greenhouse. The pallets were from my husband's job...pallets like I have never seen...made out of 4x4's and 2x6's...you wanna talk about heavy...but we lugged them home and have built a very nice greenhouse for just the cost of the windows (from The ReStore) for about 190.00. Everything we have built on this house was practically free. Taking down old decks, fences, you name it...the deck I'm sitting on 10x24 was repurposed wood, total cost about 150 bucks! Wood is wood! I love this so much. So glad to see we aren't the only ones who refuse to pay those prices lol Subbed! ~Kelly
Wait till you see our greenhouse! We build anything and everything out of repurposed wood. Welcome to the Wilderstead!
You 2 are a gteat team that makes me smile. Sometimes (if u do it right) each other are all that u need.
I absolutely love people building thing with what the have or just on a very small budget. This turned out absolutely fantastic!
Thanks Dan Jim!
I love up cycling and re cycling, I use pallets for lots around here too, nice revisiting the ol' build!
Thank you! Cheers Mike!
This is one of my favourite videos. I love using reclaimed materials to make things. Definitely saving this one to use as a template ❤️
Out of all the videos I see on TH-cam, this one is definitely the best in my opinion, I been saving pallets all winter for a storage garage and I have my own logs prep from my property, not a carpenter by no means but I could definitely do this one, thanks for the idea people, unfortunately my wife who I care about isn't as handy as yours she will help me with what ever she can
You can do it!
@@Wilderstead yes I know I have skills it's the time
One of my favorite builds in this TH-cam community. Really love the look of that barn. Watching this video gets me excited to build something with materials from our boneyard. Nice job with editing this video also.
Awesome! Thank you Jay!
I never laughed so much watching a video. It was informative and entertaining. There's no way that an architect and an engineer could have done something more appealing than you guys. Thank you for creating and sharing your video. I wish I had a barn like yours. I AM ENVIOUS! 👍🇨🇦
Glad you enjoyed it!
WOW. This is the absolute BEST pallet build barn build I've seen yet. I'm getting ready to build a barn/ shed. I'll be doing it by myself, so I've been looking for the easiest yet sturdy build. Ya'll nailed it. Hell of a job. I'll definitely be watching ya'll videos for my other projects as well.
That came out beautiful! Excellent work and your wife is a rockstar. Love the soundtrack! It fit perfectly.
Thank you! Cheers!
What a great team! Well done you guys, it's awesome!👏👏👏
Great build guys and girls! Thank you for the wonderful video. It was great seeing the new barn holding up against the winter elements
I see yall bought one of the greatest tool sets on the market. Team Ridgid all the way! Affordable and reliable
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! I LOVE IT!!!
Fantastic effort guy's

Thanks Leo!
That is so amazing team work!!!!!
I just subscribed to your blog. One onf the best pallett shed builds i have seen
Absolutely fantastic! I’m smiling from ear to ear this is just great! Well done y’all 🇨🇦👏🏼
Glad you enjoyed it! Tons of work but we really like the outcome. Cheers!
Great job making a simplistic jig for the rafters. I always believe in mass production being simple
Like the manner in which your barn was built. Good work guys. Thanks for sharing 👍.
Thanks TS! Appreciate it!
I vould not pick a fight with his wife! This man married well to a wife as tough as he is. Great job guys! As a matter of fact...I'm going to pattern after your build. Thank you both so much! BTW..my wife loved your video.
Love the roof truss jig!
Very handy!!
Well done! I now have a perfect example of what I need to build! 👍
Great to hear Kristal! Cheers!
What a great team, thanks for sharing this doable build.
Our pleasure!
BRILLIANT JOB GUYS! VERY INSPIRING
Thanks John!
Nice job guys, love the rustic style of the barn. Good teamwork. I like that it’s diy too, I always custom build my own stuff too. Always nice to recap a build in a timelapse, I did one for my custom ultimate duck house. See ya on the next one. Cheers, Chad
Cool! We'll have to check that one out!
Man, that is awesome. gonna try & build similar for goats!! thx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing accomplishment! I loved the time lapse. Made me.wanna watch the original. You guys really did well. 👏👏👏❤
Thank you so much 😁
Very well done and edited time-lapse. Fantastic job guys!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Awesome 👍 Great little barn! My husband enjoyed the soundtrack 😎
Excellent! You guys all settled in now?
@@Wilderstead for the most part. We still need to build some new shelters for the livestock when the ground thaws - will definitely take some inspiration from your pallet barn!
3:00 you can stop there for the roof and put the roof different with a flat roof. Just overlap tiling the boards for that to be the roof on a 20° angle the highest point is at the doorway which is seven and it goes down to 6 ft at the back it overhangs a foot on all sides the entryways into the house from the overhang is blocked off first saving heat but later on you'd have to had to have add events in the future.
Absolutely LOVE it. Great video. love the design and the use of recycled material. New sub from Australia. Keep up the good work guys. awesome!!!!
Thank you. Welcome aboard!
Big project...looks great!!! Imagine we could work at time lapse speed, and put something like this up in 10 mins! HA.
That would be cool! I wonder if a few gallons of maple sap coffee might do the trick hahaha! Cheers Dunne!!
I like the fence post idea
What

Great job! What teamwork.
Thanks Jim!
Made a believer out of me! 👍🏼 well done!
Glad to hear it!
I really enjoy your You Tube Sight!! Shows a lot of ingenuity and of cours ambition! rlg
We appreciate that! Thanks Roy!
Very impressed!
Thanks, Richard!
very well built.
The lowes by me always has a big pile of pallets by the garden center. Would you recommend treating/sealing it?
Awesome job guys!!!
Thanks folks!
Kudos to you! That takes alot of muscle.
Lots of work for sure. But well worth the end result!
Awesome remix!
Thanks 🔥
Amazing! Lot of work
Nice I love it because it's giving me ideas 🤙
Great work !
Thanks John!
Nice work !

you guys are cool!!!!
😎
Very good...
so good
You’ll have a nice cozy spot to snuggle with the little goats next time you visit 😂
Pregunta: si la madera toca la tierra aunque esté bajo techo se pudre?
I wonder if you could build a 4 bedroom house, utilizing wooden pallets
Lots of cabins built with pallets here on TH-cam!
@@Wilderstead I know, but those cabins are barely big enough for one person, I'm talking a 4 bedroom house
@@bradmagnuson6963 Same principal. Just look at one of those small cabins as a single quadrant to a larger building.
@@Wilderstead that still doesn't answer my question
@@bradmagnuson6963 if you want to build a 4 bedroom house out of wooden pallets, go ahead and do it. What’s stopping you? Lack of pallets to fiddle with? Yep, you could build a 4 bedroom house, utilizing wooden pallets. But can YOU?
Thank you so much for using some rock music - and for not wasting time showing every single fastener neing installed. Got some great ideas from your video. By the way, I hope you weren't paying the goat too much - supervisor needs to stay put and supervise ! LOL🙃
Wish i could give u a 5 star
Nice
EPIC
Thanks!
Pallet houses are great
You will need other boards to enforce the walls
Plywood must be used too
Good ideal
Nice!!
8:41 what do you do if all you have is pallet wood for the peak?
I'm not sure. We just built this with what he had laying around.
@@Wilderstead how lucky :/
Nice
Thanks Zaney May!
Молодцы 👍
Supercool
My dad would never throw any kind of material away he said it would be used somewhere someday and he was right. Rest in peace ole man
We are much the same! Grandfather had a huge stash of ‘trash’ - and the repurposing I saw growing up always amazed me. Cheers!
good use of reclaimed wood but would have sunk those posts in concrete
Would have been nice to do, but we are sitting on Canadian shield. Most spots we have less than a foot of topsoil before we hit bedrock.
Love the video it was very direct and to the point.. come out very nice 👌. What is ur plan for the roof tho. The plywood will need some kind of protection, shingles or tin or something right?
Tin roof
Great job 👍 now you made me feel like building a barn .I don't know what for i live in the city maybe I'll build a cat house i don't have a dog either .
Good
Thanks
Most excellent. Chickens this year Nubian milking goats next year.
Where is the music from??
Epidemic Sound
Loved every minute of it. #newsubhere ❤❤❤❤❤ 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾♾️

Deja-vu
Hahaha! I was interesting editing it and reliving the build!
Неплохой сарайчик.
Thanks!
LOL
Weird. I had a feeling that it was me who built the barn during the play. Maybe because of that action.
Hahaha! Awesome!

Ever see any deer.
Mostly moose here. Some deer but not as numerous as the moose.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🇧🇷
Can it still be called a pallet shed when they make up less than 50% of the materials?
I showed you mine, can you show me yours?
@@Wilderstead Haha, nice one! 🤣👍
No, but maybe one day. In the meantime, I can show you these...
th-cam.com/video/j5tdql6gzFU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=haiJrYHVEykK1rdv
th-cam.com/video/B6voGWLU7Yk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RQViVWU3TSEj9pbJ
So you've shown me in the first video, a barn framed with pallets, which if you watch the later videos, the barn is clad with everything except pallets. And in the second video, a shed that is framed with pallets and clad with various other materials. Both being constructed and framed exactly as the one we built. What am I missing here?
@@Wilderstead I would call yours more of a "reclaimed wood" shed, incorporating some pallets. Others I've seen use almost exclusively pallet wood, either as-is or broken down to use as cladding. Sure, the roof trusses may be from the lumber yard, along with a few other bits, but I accept you're not going to bridge a 16ft span with pallets, no matter how creative you are! I'm not knocking your build, hats off to you and I wish I even had the space to build one myself.
@kramer26 neither of the two videos you linked use ‘almost exclusively’ pallet wood…..and our roof trusses are made from 3x3 lumber from the bases of 8x4 foot pallets. The cladding, aside from one wall which was an old cedar fence, is made from 12 x 4 foot pallets/shipping crates. Not all pallets are the common 4x4 skimpy little things that most people think of when they think l of ‘pallets’. Some of those walls in our framing are 10 x 4 foot pallets. The two stalls in the barn are separated using the same 3x3s and shipping crates. The 2x4 rafters and 4x4 structural base in ours were the only purchased lumber. We put together a whole playlist of building the barn that goes over just about every piece of material that was used that might interest you for some ideas for your future builds. Cheers!
Didn't like the music had to turn the sound off.
Thanks for the update.
better than chinas tofu buildings
Haha I have lived in worse that barn will be around a long time.
The goats are loving it so far!
Wish you'd take off the music. Too much and ruins the video
Mute the video....
@@Wilderstead I did.
Sorry no need for that insane music. Let's hear the sound of actually building of the shed.
Go watch the whole playlist of building the barn if you want to listen to power tools and hammers 😉
