It appears we have a culture that views efficiency in almost anything as ideal - getting the most out of the least input. I appreciate how you show that authentic learning may entail reading from paper - an apparently less efficient approach. After this, I am definitely getting a home printer!
Tara, have you tried reading on a vertical 16:9 screen? Coders use them a lot, and for them, the smallest of errors can make or break their work. Also, I wonder how much of the differences between screen and paper are a matter of reflections on the screen or the distance from the eyes.
