There is a cleaner that is made for MAF sensors you can get an any auto parts store, but if you really want to clean this device on the cheap FFS don't use 70% grocery store alcohol. Get some 90%+ at least.
Funny you said that... I'm was looking at him clean Maf with alcohol and I'm staring right at MAF Spray(was in the basement At the time)and still have it from like 10 years ago 😆
My 2014 Terrain with 2.4, I had random sputter at idle/stop. Also was throwing a p2271 code. So yesterday, cleaned maf with electrical cleaner spray, then cleaned throttle body, while there decided to replace the vvt intake and exhaust sensor things on top left of engine. Noticed my 02 rear sensor was replaced at one time with a Bosch and was touching frame, not sure if it made difference but I put in a smaller walker 02 sensor. Crossing fingers, think it's fixed, cel light would come on about every 6 or 7 stops, yesterday put on 76 miles and no cel. Pvc hose was clean, almost like a new car, I added a vented ac Delco gas cap also. All the parts combined cost about $65. Just worked on the common issues first, was cheaper than a scan at dealer to do myself in less than a hour. I also use AFC fuel cleaner in triple dose every 2nd fuel fill to try to keep injectors and misc clean. A good fuel cleaner with PEA in it can help, I had good luck with AFC fuel cleaner in past, not sure if it even has pea but made huge difference 2 other vehicles. Vented ac Delco cap is only $10 new and a cheap insurance for rear main seal.
My son and I did all the same and installed an Oil Catch Can to the PVC system and all is good! We also added the vented AC Delco cap as well. Noticed that the blow-by was greatly reduced.
@toddcanipe1190 My stall just at starts came back right away. I ended up seeing a youtuber say try adding bardahl no smoke(is a oil thickener) I add 6-8oz at every oil change and past 3 years, not one stall. If I don't add it, stalls. So far zero issues with the additive and vvt.
Man thank you for this , I am going to try on my 2011 Chevy equinox. I’ve had it for 6 months and it was owned by an older couple. Got it about 6 months ago and suddenly the engine sputters, feels like it misfires when idling , sounds like it has a lack of power when coming from a complete stop at a red light and lightly hitting the gas. Dealership warranty just expired yesterday and I have no idea why it’s running so crappy. Have to change the oil ASAP but once that is done I will run a bunch of tests on it. Please keep making videos about this car . Nobody else on TH-cam is doing it so recently and I need help with this car I just bought for 10 grand that has 90k miles on
Freddy Lopez hey I was just wondering if you cleaned the injectors on your equinox if so did it fix it. Mine is doing the same as yours and just wondering if that fixed yours. Thanks.
Same! I bought a 2014 terrain denali and had to put a BRAND NEW engine in it 3 months after I bought it!! Now 3 months after replacing engine its hesitating when I go to slow down or press on the gas. I f#cking HATE this car! But it's so beautiful
Great vid I have one question though. I had a 2007 solstice with basically the same engine. The high pressure fuel rail at the connection had basically a one time disconnect connection. It would deform the ball connevtion joint ever so slightly. So if you didn't get it aligned perfectly it would leak.
I realize this comment is a year old, but I've had the same issue in the past and can say that you need to get a set of fuel line disconnect tools. A whole set in a hard case is pretty cheap on Amazon and it solved this issue for me.
I’m getting codes P0172/175 I’ve tried a few things. My engine runs rich after relearning with a computer reset. And my Chevy equinox 2011 doesn’t pick up speed after stopping at red lights and sputters. Can I get some advice from anyone please. I don’t want to continue fixing things that doesn’t need fixing. I thought it was the transmission since it would misfire when changing speeds.
I’m having the same problem with sputtering. Can I try using fuel injector cleaner instead of dismantling the engine? I’ve gone as far as replacing all the plugs and ignition coils.
So I replaced tb(oem), maf(oem) both new. New Wagner rear 02, both vvt Solenoids(generic ones), gas cap(oem) 2 tanks of techron cleaner, 1 tank liquid moly cleaner, new air filter. I reset computer and ran perfect for 10 days and around 75 starts. Then it's like when computer relearned, all of a sudden rough idle again and stall. I reset computer and is perfect again. Now I am stumped, I have a new purge solenoid and plugs I haven't installed yet, but is odd it runs perfect until computer relearns driving style.
@@PriorToImpact reset, spell check changed my word. Have not pulled injectors yet, The Terrain has less than 60k miles. But what is confusing me is why when I reset the computer, is all good for over a week of driving every day, then starts doing it again. Kind of rules out fuel pump or vacuum leak.
I have a 2006 Chevy Equinox and it didn’t want to start yesterday and it was sputtering and had a rough idle. I changed the plugs and wires but it still has a rough idle. I’ve noticed more water coming from the exhaust. Do you think that catalytic converter cleaner would fix this. A friend checked my codes as the service engine soon light was on and it threw a code that said my battery was weak(which it wouldn’t be) but the SES light is off now but it STILL has the rough idle. It’s not an extremely rough idle but it’s noticeable. From time to time since owning my car, it would die when going down a low incline hill (brakes applied) ? I’m just confused and was hoping for some advice. Thanks so much for your help. New subscriber 👍
Hi, you new subscriber here. I just want to ask if you have encountered the "Service Stabilitrak" appearing on the dashboard? Because everytime I start to drive our 2011 GMC Terrain, that message always appear. I don't know what to do about it. Please need your support if you have any idea to fix it. Thanks.
The button for stabilitrak was poorly designed put right next to the cup holders and coin/nik nak holder which always ends up as the area for a quick sandwich/food item with crumbs etc..
