I own a California T. Its an absolute dream. Top down in the sunshine and with nearly 600bhp you're in heaven! A lot of snobs out there question whether this is a true Ferrari - trust me its absolute perfection!
Perfectly said , sold my 21 HTC vett which was a great car for the money no question. However fit , finish , ride , comfort , torque on the higher end are fantastic . Just taking a ride is so worth it . I believe it’s also as fast or faster than some of what the snobs call real Ferraris. Love the styling of the car , they are beautiful.
fernando quiñones Car Throttle is good but I like Matt's video style and his commentary. And I dont think anyone watches carbuyer. The channel has been buried to shit ever since Matt left.
TechTips It's New Year time, and for some reason I was thinking about elves.. and then I watched Mat's new upload, and some reason he reminded me of a cute elf. I'm sorry, it is a bit twisted I fully understand
+Mario D. Zmaj Plucky Brits! They never let ANYTHING spoil their passion. Not wheater, not hate or jealousy, not govermental control, idiotic rules, or bureacry, overtaxing, overcrowded ares or traffic jams, NOTHIGN will stop them from having fun. I admire the ENGLISH!
I bought a 2016 T april of 2023, my first Ferrari. I am soooo happy with it. I love it, the first thing i did was tune it about 2 weeks after i bought it. Didn't have to add any parts, just a modest stage one tune. Dyno came out to 660HP and...oh hell like 670 something pounds of torque. It was very fast before the tune. After the tune, i unleashed a beast. The car is frighteningly fast. i would say im doing 0-60MPH about 2.8 on a good launch. The transmission is pure pleasure as well. I hit 175 MPH in 6th gear at about 5,000 RPM, and she had no sign of losing power to keep on! Pure pleasure.
Mat Watson is absolutely fantastic. It's really refreshing to see a channel focus on the practicality of living with a more high-end car than simply thrashing it around a track and measuring it's suitability by how quick it is.
I can see why these great cars are expensive. Ferrari are always nearly bust because of their lack of economies of scale. The prices of the options seem really silly, though. Who would want to pay £1000 for a cover for cup holders?Surely really rich folk want value too, otherwise they won't be rich for long.
David Hayes the options are mental, but sadly are in keeping with their compition . 2k for apple car play, it's coming as standered in some normal cars. some are bundling with £700 sat nav packs that I think is to much, given how much you can pick a more capable taller for. the worst (normal brands) are the likes of jaguar, that chick in a crappy 5" or 7" low Res slow CPU system hoping you'll pony up the grand or so extra to upgrade it. the price difference for the origanal crappy system and their better one will be in the reason of £20 to 30, to Jag. just stick the better one in as standered and charge an extra 250 to 500 across the board. it would probably generate more profit across the board as everyone would be "upgraded" in stead of just the higher end ones. and it would stop the feeling of being "nickle and dimed" as the yanks say.
+David Hayes They shouldn't have sold their soul and implant digital gismos and other rubbish in their cars, or copmltely commit heressy by using HYBRID technology, the stupidiest most uninovative crap on the planet. Otherwise they'd do better nor would their cars burn down to the ground out of nowhere.
Cars that start at this price should just come with all the options at one price. Options on a cheap car i can understand but not at high starting prices.
The options list is how you personalise your car. Spending this amount of money you want something unique, tailored, bespoke, like your Armani suit, your architect designed house with its custom amenities, your yacht with its luxury wooden inlays. Besides, Brits usually eschew the options and go for lightweight and stripped out which is the opposite of markets like Dubai and Asia.
Awayze Companys aren't stupid and give you options for free, if they can hook you with a low starting prize and make double the money in the end. And they know you are forced to choose options for a proper resale value.
Steven Farrington *lol* Really? So the average working class british housewife is going for lightweight instead of comfort and resale value? Get out of your bubble, pal. 99% of customers of cars don't care for weight and the rest will most likely buy a Lotus or Caterham.
Steven Farrington But the people who can afford the "base" car will go all out on options anyway. Have it one price and just let customers on one or two options, not £100k worth.
The reason options are so expensive is because these are not mass produced cars, so for every little option that you want, Ferrari has to set up a totally new manufacturing process, and that takes a long time and a lot of money if you're only gonna produce a few parts in that process. You're not paying for a scuderia badge on the side of your car, you're paying for them having to go out of their way to design a fender that has that indentation integrated into it, and a new manufacturing process that will develop those fenders just for you or for just a few other people. If they didn't charge so much money for all these custom options, they'd be losing money on each and every one of them. Same goes for all the little carbon fiber parts, which require CNC machining of molds (EXTREMELY expensive) and templates, totally new way of laying down carbon fiber sheets, cooking it, etc. Same goes for this stitching, which again requires totally different stitching methods, etc. It's one thing when BMW makes 10,000 interior interior trim parts out of wood and 10,000 out of aluminium, and then just give one of those to you depending on what you pick, and it's different when Ferrari makes 10 of aluminium ones, but you're the only one who wants a carbon fiber one that month, they have to make one especially for you, and at a quality level higher than anyone else in the industry does it. I don't think most people can appreciate just how high quality Ferrari interiors for example are. It's another step up from cars like Mercedes S class. Not just because of materials and fit and finish and attention to detail, but what's UNDER those parts too. Forged magnesium dashboard frame instead of a mold injected plastic one, for example, that other expensive cars use. There's much more money hidden where you can't see it in these cars. They're definitely not overpriced, you get what you pay for if you know what to look at.
This engine got "engine of the year" award. That's the car the rest is just extra. And that's why Ferrari are so ahead of everyone else. Beautiful car.
I absolutely love my California T. Not the most expensive Ferrari, but love the comfort and at 6’3” I fit comfortably into the car. 0-60 in 3.3 isn’t too shabby.
Guys, please always be alert and watch people around you. Yesterday, when I was on a sidewalk making my way home, a man came to me and withdrew a scissor. I was panicked so I immediately responded him with a rock. Imagine if I was not alert, I might accidentally answered him with a paper and lost the game.
Happy new year Mat and the people there at Carwow. I really like your reviews because they pretty much sum up the cars and their behaviors, making it easy for the viewer. Not only that there's a good bit of humor - although not always humorous - making it one of the best reviews you can find on the internet. I was wondering if you could make a Head2Head with the XC90, Q7, and the new Discovery (when it comes out) in 2017 tho... I know you made a video similar to this on a different channel but I really need one reviewing the new Disco. Oh and one more thing: try to make better puns because the ones you currently use are quite... abysmal in many ways. But that's just my opinion. As always, keep up the good work.
what I want to know about every sports or super car that people claim that it can be driven every day is that: is it high enough to go over speed humps? will the nose scratch when I'm going in to an inclined road?
Good reivew. But the complaint isn't that it's not a proper Ferrari, the complaint is that it just isn't a very good car for this price point/segment, period. Just from looking here, the AMG GTs look a lot more luxurious. The similarly priced AMG GT R would destroy the Cali T, and something like the McLaren 570 both looks better and can outperform this car for less money (when you include options). This really is Ferrari marketing at its worst, selling a badge instead of a great product.
Underwood95 like I'm going to work that hard to be able to afford a Ferrari just so I can impress some bimbo? You're obviously very young and don't even like driving much. To each their own I guess. But that's a bit sad.
Rofl. Ferrari isn't bad at marketing, YOU are. Do you really think this is a performance model for guys? It's a fancy cruiser for rich chicks and it will sell great. You can't take your kids to school in a damn McLaren. And a AMG GT isn't classy at all. It's guys like you why people with class buy other cars than the ones you prefer.
We didn't have it long enough to find out how reliable it is, but every Ferrari comes with a ridiculously good warranty/breakdown cover/servicing plan. 7 free services with each one sold!
Covert Whaaat? The current M6 Gran Coupé is literally the best of BMW (especially design-wise) at the moment (till the F90 M5 comes out), even when they do redo it; it's never gonna be as good as the current one... As far as the CLS63 goes, the only thing it beats the M6 at is its engine and its exhaust note, nothing else.
Covert Well yes, of course they do, however I was referring particularly to the current gen M6 and its huge depreciation when bought used... A new one would set you back around £100k (with some desirable options ofc) whereas a well specced used one can be found for less than half of that, with decent mileage... So yes, it isn't really worth it if buying it new compared to the ones in the used market.
Mat, I am sure you are wrong about winter tyres. If you have had summer tyres on that California in the middle of winter, you will be all over the place. With it being RWD, the traction control light will be permanently on. Winter tyres work best below 7℃ which is ideal for the condition of the road test. So no excuses. LoL
You asked if we "ever" get sunshine in England. Well obviously. What a ridiculous question. But there will be less in winter than in summer, because the daylight hours are shorter as much as anything else. Maybe look at some of Mat's other videos for confirmation (clue: he will probably be wearing a t-shirt). FYI, I am looking out at blue skies as I type this. HTH.
Samuel Brooks Exactly. My Citroen C1 has the same problem but I can understand that on a cheap car. If I bought a Ferrari and it did the same thing I would freak out about how lazy the company was.
2k not THAT expensive, I thought it'd be around 10k. Defo can get under 200k mark, w/out the crazy expensive Interior Carbon Pack and Ferrari shields. Lovely car, nice last review of '16. Happy New year!

Question have you reviewed the lexus gsf yet?

You should do a group test between the Aston, Ferrari and a Bentley continental or 570 GT or is that too much for a real world car channel
How do you know about the handbags?
