@@kev614 No it started when my Tigers got whooped by West Virginia in the Orange bowl. This was def a huge win and changed some aspects with recruiting. But that 70-33 ass whooping is what changed some much needed coaching areas on the defensive end...and we all know defense wins championships.
@@andrewroof8042I'll also echo that is a fair point. However, this game, particularly the 4th and 17, is where those changes and their effects became a reality. This was the point that everyone started believing they got a shot at this thing. This was the point after which we began to have real expectations that we were eventually gonna go all the way. At least, that's definitely true for me. This was a game changer for me.
A lot of players played in this game that had played or currently playing in the NFL. This game was loaded with talent, but this was a coaching mismatch. This was just one of the several marks of a slowly decent of the Les Miles program, that started in January of 2012.
@@B-rad00 Fans are just cheerleaders... The TEAM ascended to the top of the mountain. Not the fans. Anyone can jump on any team's bandwagon and pretend to have been there from the start until that team starts to lose again and they go somewhere else.
@@B-rad00 my comment went completely over your head. I have lived in SC my entire life and been a Gamecocks fan since I was like 8 or 9 and I can remember when both USC and Clemson had those great seasons together from 2011 to 2013 the state was nearly divided. Half and half. Now that USC has sucked since then and Clemson has gone on to win 2 NATIONAL titles, all of a sudden there's more orange and I can see the difference between real fans and bandwagon. Hell, I've seen people who have been Gamecock fans or Georgia fans for the longest time suddenly jump on Clemson's bandwagon. And they want to say "oh we national champions" so again I say there is no WE when the team wins it. We don't get rings or hardware. We are just cheerleaders.
Dabo literally had that conviction from day one. Listen to this 2:41:27. You can say what you want about Dabo but this man is a prime example of what happens when you believe and execute. I'll never forget watching Clemson win the nat title in Tampa with my family. I was right there in the end zone where Renfrow caught it. Man. Thank you for the memories Dabo.
saddest game I have ever watched... was there and crying... My first LSU game... wish they won... but this year 2016-2017 we r gonna be great. (MARK MY WORDS)
You’re stupid if you didn’t understand the reference, I didn’t say Clemson is done for good, that’s almost as dumb as saying Lsu is a one and done team with 3 titles since ‘03 😂👌🏻😐
Did I say that? No. You said that LSU ended it for Clemson, it being their dynasty. I’m not even a Clemson fan, I’m a big time gator, but even I can admit that Clemson is still one of the best teams in college football and their dynasty is far from over
Are you kidding? They didn't want to give Clemson a break on that final drive with that missed PI that even the announcers said; and they made up for it later anyway. But the more obvious bad calls to me were in LSU's favor...
This is where it all started for Clemson... 10 years later, I still get chills every time I come back and watch this every few months. GO TIGERS.
nah it started after you beat Oklahoma in 2014 id say
Bro listen to Dabo at 2:41:27 . I just rewatched this game for the first time. I got chills when he said this.

This is the last game my father, a Clemson grad, watched. I wish he could have seen the two National Championships but I'm glad he got to see this.
Tough game! This is where it began for the Tigers 🐅
This game is the best pre new years day game in recent memory
The announcers are LSU cheer leaders till the end of the game
This was the game where Clemson stopped being a joke and LSU stopped being a powerhouse.
@Bob Ross These 2 teams may very well find themselves knocking boots in a pretty big game in January 2020...............
This comment is the most stupidest one I have seen yet.
Now they both meet in the championship game... holy cow
You’re not wrong... LSU went downhill a bit afterwards. Now they’re back and are top of the world! #NationalChamps
Yikes

now they are about to retire
From here we started the ascent
We? Yeah "WE" as in the team. Fans didn't ascend shit.
@@brandonjones9998 If they had no fans they would have no drive to do great

That was a very tense game that went all the way to the last 0:02 seconds to win...
Im a Auburn fan, best this is the best non bcs bowl i ca
LSU faked so many injuries in this game it is amazing there weren't any consequences after.
Mingo was a beast in college. Too bad his talent never translated in the pros.
Who was here at the 2019 national championship and who was here in the 2020 season

More like tiger bowl
Tajh got it all started!!!
4th and 16
4th and cade klubnik
Faking injuries to slow us down on the final drive. lol.
it's 2019 and I still don't understand why LSU passed it 3 times in a row with under 2:30 to play in the 4th.
Cus Les Miles that's why 😧
Just glad they did
barkevious mingo i thought would be the next jevon kearse...

don't look so great no offense
Your right we need to get our passing going
Yeah and then that lost to auburn tonight like dang LSU 2-2 now less miles might lose his job
tru but there was a penalty before the last lay making the clock run when the ball is snapped on the next play. Meaning LSU should have won.
True they should have
and Catanzaro is about to be a Doctor now good luck to him
Dabo Swinney and Brett Venables absolutely outcoached Les Miles this day.
Worst commentators EVER
Isn’t it ironic y’all say this is the game that started it all for Clemson, then it all ended for Clemson in New Orleans, geaux tigers.

Bama winning next 5 championships
Also ended LSU title run since then lol 😂

this game had the refs in favor of Clemson so much. still a great game though
