Every time I play any of the tracks or clips that show up here, I fall in love w/the movie all over again. I wonder if it's a good thing, or a bad one, that they never made a sequel? W/ the way it ended, it'd be tough for them to write a credible follow-up story, so it most likely woulda bit. But you never know...
it was a great film, i have it somewhere on vhs, i really should buy it again on dvd format, since i dont even have a vcr anymore. Some movies are worth buying twice...this one makes that list.
I think possibly because in the movie the sax player does some showboating solo stuff, kinda ruins it for the band... (its in the script)> They Might have done a straight version.
@gazzamuso its a quote from the film jimmy rabbite says it to dean the sax player because hes playing jazz style instead of soul style have you seen the film check ya facts!
Hate to be the bearer of bad news folks (i love this film as much as you guys) but the vocals were actually performed by a chap called Sy Garretty and dubbed in to the film. Sy got absolutely no royalties whatsoever, as when he signed on the dotted line he didnt realise what a HUGE (and well deserved by the the way) success the film would become. That's contracts for you! Quality film though still!
Hi, I never heard this; also I've seen footage of Andrew Strong and he has a great voice. May I ask where you got this information from? Not that I'm doubting you, just curious. Have a great night!
Amazing What a voice! Bring the band back!!
Might just be me but I absolutely love the jazzy sax lines, but it's a good plot point too!
Ich liebe diesen Film.Andrew Strong hat eine Stimme, die mich immer wieder umhaut.
Wahnsinn...
They perfected an already great tune

It's a two-volume soundtrack, it's the opening track on Volume 2.

17 years old Andrew Strong!
possibly best sould ban ever, excellent brass section and andrew had just brilliant soul man voice!
There aren't too may rock and roll movies that are worth seeing this is one and Eddie and the Cruisers is the other one
Hicieron la version completa en "The Commitments Vol.2" el año 1992.
Pero no es exactamente igual. En la peli se oye mucho mejor. Con más energía, sentimiento, o no sé cómo decirlo

My arse the black crowes did the original hard to handle.
Go have a look at Otis Redding.
Hmpf, black crowes, that's just plain offensive.
Chris Robbinson rocks it out with the Black Crowes. This version is weak at best.
SPOOKSTR non jo coker
Awful cover.
