Wish I can see it in person. I think the face is really good, maybe something with his mouth is not good. Have you seen Smaug from Weta, for me it is a big hit, maybe the only Hobbit statue I want, but I am afraid of the price and it is really big.

But maybe I'm being too optimistic. Will be interested to see the edition size as it's the hobbit and I've noticed a lot of people who like it but only collect LOTR. Hoping the release date is a little further out so I can sort my finances for it :D

Congrats on the pickup. Looks like a solid effort from Prime 1 with some areas as always that could be improved upon. Good call on the concept and comparing to the Night King, that's a great idea and would have been epic. Still debating on whether to order the Night King or not. Thanks for the review. You were very thorough. I think the piece overall looks fantastic. I would have definitely preferred a simpler base though. I also think it's just a bit too green, so a lot of the details on the ghosts gets lost unless you're really looking closely. It's also strange that Legolas and Gimli were set on Helm's Deep themed bases, and Aragorn is from Return of The King.
Hey matey! Yeah, the theme of the base isn’t really an issue for me, to be honest? I like a bit of diversity, makes sense for Gimli and Legolas to pair up as they were ‘close friends’ whereas Aragorn does become the king of Gondor! Anyway, great to hear from you matey, really appreciate it dude 👍🏻

It's more on 60 to 70 percent likeness 90percent is very generous.. it's a very nice statue nice base too..but if you're a collector who is very picky when it comes to likeness this statue is not for you.

Great review overall. I do think it's a good Aragorn piece, even with it's flaws. I never really saw Viggo in the sculpt much, but I do see Aragorn so that's a good consolation. I think the mouth is the reason for the likeness problems. I always thought it was too wide or something. It's tough to put my finger on it, but it's just not Viggo. The only other critique I would have is the paint seems a bit too flat and monotone and shiny over the entire statue, particularly his outfit, but that could also be due to your camera as it seems to wash out colors a bit. I imagine it's more vibrant in person. I think this is where Weta, Sideshow, and even Iron Studios seem to excel a bit more.

The overcoat and cloak are awesome, and the face is decent although I agree that it has something off about it but for the life of me I can't figure out what it is. But I really don't like this as much as some others you have reviewed. I in particular have a dislike of the base with the dead.
Yeah, the concept of the base has been something that has certainly divided people - personally, I quite like it. Would I have preferred a separate King of the Dead? Definitely!! Cheers for the comment matey 👍🏻

The overcoat and cloak are awesome, and the face is decent although I agree that it has something off about it but for the life of me I can't figure out what it is. But I really don't like this as much as some others you have reviewed. I in particular have a dislike of the base with the dead.
Yeah, the concept of the base has been something that has certainly divided people - personally, I quite like it. Would I have preferred a separate King of the Dead? Definitely!!

Yeah, one or two people have said the same matey, personally, to me, and having this in hand, they look good! But, I guess, this is one of those pieces that divides opinions?
