Even if you're not a fan of this genre or the band itself, you have have to respect and appreciate what Luke has brought to the table with this album, the parts he wrote both fit the songs as well as show off his ability. It shows a nice diversification from the more generic bands so I must say Luke, you and the rest of the band have really impressed me with this record, great job.
I don't get how ppl don't like his drumming...I've been a fan of Luke's since before he joined TWA and when I found out he was joining one of my favorite bands I got so excited! His fills are so original and there's so much more talent than ppl realize that goes into writing those beats. He's one drummer I try to model my style after. He obviously had the talent coming in with all those covers but I think this album proved he also had the finesse to be a solid member of the band at drums. A shame some ppl don't see that...
I took a lesson from him and even asked about that. It's crazy but it's not even blast beats, I think he said it was a rudiment called a flam accent, he's just ungodly coordinated and fast.
I don't know about anyone else, but I appreciate this album a lot more each time he releases a new playthrough video. Not dissing or anything, but I couldn't hear all of the detail work here from just listening a few times. :) Thanks for this, Luke.
I been really enjoying the all songs you written. I glad the band seems to give you tons of freedom to be creative. It for sure helps inspire me as a drummer also. Keep up the good work
This is a great video!! Also it was pretty amazing meeting you yesterday and getting that lesson during warped tour!!!! Keep it up and continue amazing people!
Luke is just awesome... my bud got a drum lesson from him @ Dallas Warped tour this year... shook his hand after a great set!! lol 'whats up doggy!' (:
I know this was made a while a go but this video always interested me. Like how do you do all this like seriously. Your by far the best drummer I know. Keep it up man seriously. It would suck to see you go.
Hey Luke! you made "the word alive" so much better, i just wish you can redo the drums to the first two albums. i give you props man so keep it,also i will be covering 94th st so keep me on the look out. \m/
So sick!! You need to bring back the pedal cam on your new videos man, and get you some new ES shoes lol was awesome to see you rep the best shoe company
Lovin' the new skin piece, lovin' the writing on this tune. It's always a treat watching you play. I'd be pretty ecstatic if you did a cover of a newer Misery Signals song or an older Northlane song sometime if you were up for it.
I'm proud i can play all his amazing works because i play every day since i was 8 (now i'm 18) with strong determination, but i find impossible how to write drum track like this. FUCK!! You're definitely my inspiration

I find it interesting how his left foot comes OFF the petal on the straight 120-150bpm double bass parts, very non-traditional but still clean.
Man i have have watch this video over and over again and still want to keep watching it. SOOOOO GOOOD!!!!!!!
HOLY FUCKING SHIT. Them blast beats at the beginning doe, my god
I took a lesson from him and even asked about that. It's crazy but it's not even blast beats, I think he said it was a rudiment called a flam accent, he's just ungodly coordinated and fast.
