      As a sixteen year old in 1967, I worked at a Rudy's Red Bud Grocery and I was treated to three to nine hours of this kind of elevator music for nearly two years. I'm permanently marked.

      I know what you mean! For me it was listening to the same 45 minutes Christmas songs disk every year starting November 1st till Jan 15th while working part time in stores during college!

    The reason the two M1 sets are different in size is the 20-852 that is supplied by Gaugemaster is the replacement (superceded version) for the 20-850 M1 set, this is globally not just USA. I think the extra "-1" at the end of the SKU may denote what wall plug adapter is supplied possibly ie. UK, USA, EU, Australia etc etc

    I love the idea of the unpainted coal wagons as you could have your own company with your own logo ect on the wagons and resprayed loco

    • @leewaymodels
      @leewaymodels  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is a fair point I guess. Locomotive is generic enough that it could be used for a lot of situations.

      Have you seen this video by Budget Model Railways where they upgrade a similar simple Lima diesel model to your Kato. It's really interesting and ends up looking fantastic.

      You could take off the pantograph and have it as a diesel as part of the conversion

    I love this set and am tempted to buy. One question - is the oval that it comes with larger or smaller than the oval you demonstrate with at the end ? Thanks

    • @leewaymodels
      @leewaymodels  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Is is much larger. I made a video about the oval that comes with it here: th-cam.com/video/zPhDUiRf1z8/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared

      @@leewaymodelsWow that a really big track by comparison. I think I'll have to pick up this set. Thanks for your time.

    • @leewaymodels
      @leewaymodels  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Indeed, Kato is generous with the M1 set. All the "V" track sets also makes it easy to expand your layout. At some point, I'll have a better living space where I will be able to build something.

    Do you think it's good or bad to run an "electric" train on a rail line with no power poles, the same track you would run steam or diesel?

    • @leewaymodels
      @leewaymodels  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In my opinion, to each their own. I don't see it as either good or bad. On the plus side, they sure looks great. However, when you add catanary, I feel that it is not as easy to put trains on track and also to re rail them in the case of a derailment.

    The es1 locomotive was built i. 1901 by by the north Easter railway

    • @leewaymodels
      @leewaymodels  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A really early electric locomotive. I really like the prototype. I am on the fence about getting one in 00 scale.

      I'd be happy to help but I live in the uk and in only 15 years old

    • @leewaymodels
      @leewaymodels  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Rails of Sheffield has an exclusive model of it made in collaboration with Heljan. I don't really like that manufacturer (as I had a class 1361 from them that caught fire...) but that model looks really good. It is on sale at this time.

      You definitely should have look at the n scale selection theres a sale if you set the listing order from bestselling to lowest to highest you will get the cheapest n scale they sell

    What's The Most Expensive Kato Train that you have seem?

    • @leewaymodels
      @leewaymodels  ปีที่แล้ว

      Mmm... Good question. I don't look much at expensive stuff. For my use, it makes more sense to look at reasonably (relatively speaking) priced trains. I do however prefer slightly simpler, more sturdy built models then overly detailed, super fragile models.

  • @Ducktheunchad

      I said in the video that I had so many questions with this, well this is one I couldn't find the answer. I will would really like to give you a proper answer but sadly I don't know! Tracks and locomotive are real Kato products though.
