My favorite couple on the internet right now.. stuck in the epicenter of New York the two of you made me survive quarantine... itching to travel, but for now I’ll just follow your vlogs!
1:07:00 Don't worry about thunderstorms if you are in a vehicle.. pretty safe - you're in an electrical (Faraday) shield ... just keep back a bit from the windows a bit if you can. I'd worry more about high winds, landslides or flash flooding - just choose your parking spots sensibly... high ground if possible, sheltered if possible.
Just discovered your channel while digesting every vlog about Queenstown.I really loved your vlog ,it was never boring ,absolutely amazing .Thank you and stay safe.
If you loved caves you should have gone to the Waitomo Caves they are magnificent and you even get to see the fireflies on the roof, but a great travel blog love seeing all of your blogs you guys have a great outlook on life.
Loved your easy going but frank approach to recording your epic trip around my home country. Sand fleas are the worst haha. All love for your ongoing ad ensures thru life 🥰😊
This is one of the most beautiful videos on NZ . So realistic and it makes you feel the wanderlust to travel . Everyday isn't perfect . Weather can ruin a planned vacation . This shows you need to be resourceful and go with the flow . Loved it . I'm now a subscriber !
One of the best, most informative, practical, funny, well documented pieces of information I've found to help with our travels later this year. Thank you for sharing the highs (and the lows) with us.
Well done guys because I haven't even been to south island I have lived in central North island NZ all my life I'm 38 now and watching this i think it's time to spread my wings
46:30 Suggestion: Next time, try driving to Glenorchy and chilling out there for a bit - decent pubs etc. and nice end of the lake. Sunrise over the big tops is gobsmacking - I did that in February 2018, ended up sleeping on the bench outside the pub in my motorcycle gear - there was nothing available in Queenstown as I arrive much later than I realized... didn't get much sleep and even at that time of the year it wasn't warm by any stretch - but that sunrise made it all worthwhile :-)
I like cockles steamed open then you add malt vinegar, and finely chopped brown onion, let chill in the fridge then enjoy (some like them on white bread) I so want some now. Cockles or Pipies both are nice I also typically let them spit any sand over night in a bucket of tap water.
It felt like travelling with you..I too hate the rains and can keep up at night when it rains. More love to you Finn. Six weeks is a long time to be in a small van and we could still see soo many smiles. Love you both for the energy.
I heard New Zealand was one of the most countries the world . Looks like it was a crazy experience But those crazy experiences are the most memorable I think I’ll do Bali ❤️
Good job guys. I have lived here in the south island almost 7 years and you still managed to show me things I had not seen and different perspectives on some of the places I have seen. Loved it. I only wish the internet had been invented when I was so much younger so I could have embarked on a travelling career :)
Time is runnin` so fast...now it`s 2021, Corona all over,,no flights,no travelin`....nothing! I was with my wife 2007/2008 for 6 Month and ´round 15000 k`s by Campervan in New Zealand ! No job,no workin, no fruitpickin`,no housekeeping, nothing like this`..just fun and traveling with our own Ford hightop-campervan! One of the best experience in my life- and I have seen a lot from this world- with my age 60.. !! New zealand was part of our 20 months-Worldtrip...!We did the right at this time! We both love the Kiwi, the amazing landscape, the adventures we made, the 20 hikes,or to explore the sea a few times with a sea-kajak...!! B.L.,Brigachtal-Germany
I stayed up until 3:50 a.m. to watch the whole video here and it was such an adventure. My sacrifice was small compared to yours, living in the wild and weathering it all for good or bad. What a trip you took us on. Beautiful and fun! Thank you! Cheers from Canada! P.S. Love your positive attitudes and playful natures!!
You guys are amazing! I just binged watched your videos!! I feel like your my new kids!! So proud of you doing what you're doing!! I just love you both!!
Just want to thank you both for cheering me up and keeping me entertained, I’ve not long been diagnosed with a very rare cancer Called a cordoma , I’ve got a major operation on the 5 th of December after the op I will be-in hospital for two months so I can recuperate and learn how to walk again . After my stint in hospital 3 of my best buddies have arranged for me to go on a lovely road trip albeit in my brand new Peugeot 5008 suv which I pick up in March , all this by the way as soon as I can walk properly and pain free. The 4 of us are going from the uk to calais in France then to Dunkirk to see the ww2 beech landings then upto flanders fields.to see the massive war cemetery , after that we drive to East Germany obviously after we have spent the night in Belgium, in Germany we go to see Colditz castle which a Was a ww2 prisoner of war camp ,we will stay in or around the town of colditz for a couple of nights . After that the mood of the trip lightens where we head back through switzerland Austria and the wonderful Bavarian alps where we throw away it he itinerary and just play vit by ear where we go and what.we do , so we are really looking forward to it all it’s just up to me to get myself better . Tim n Fin you have inspired me on your wonderful trip wish I knew you for real because you are a fantastic. Lovable couple anyway enough of my ramblings. Love you both to bits, always take care of each other , and Alison keep smiling that beautiful stunning smile .
Jeff, I know this was 11 months ago but I pray that your surgery and recovery was a huge success and that you got to continue your plans to travel Europe. Continued prayers that you remain cancer free for the rest of your life! Im a 3 time survivor with the strength of Wonder Woman💪 n let nothing get in my way. I truly believe in a positive attitude that heals us faster then any medication, and I wish you sir the very best! Happy trails✌☮🌼
@@timandfin Hi guys thank you for your lovely kind words , yes I'm doing ok thank you still a long way to go but I'm getting there, not managed to do the road trip yet because of the covid but still planning to go once this is all over . Hope you guys are well and once again thank you it means a lot xxx
Absolutely beautiful. It makes me miss my home. I think you missed some of the great parts of New Zealand. Rotorua is every part as good as Yellowstone. Minus the Buffalo! There are three green and blue lakes. And further north the Waipua Kauri forest. I think it would have blown your mind!
OMG First blog and in that I spent 25years traveling around north and south isle. Very little rain and no no people. How come!z! Wh ole it was 1964 and in the summer. I have enjoyed the trip very much and love Allison all 6 feet of delightful young women child. She has a rare character of pure joy and and a lot of apprehension which is good.. she is beautiful besides which is great. Linden
Hi thanks for sharing Aotearoa with us ...sorry you had so many rainy days , its a shame you never did the east coast of the North Island ...Kia kaha stay strong
I loved your video. It was pleasing to see you fed our sandflies - the annoying thing about them is they can live ok without blood so don’t have to bite us. Insect repellent is a must in some places. But at least you don’t have to worry about other ferocious animals here. As you found out 6 weeks is not enough time to see the country. I’ve subscribed to your channel and looking forward to watching more.
Hey Tim and Fin… so I have been watching you all for about 6 months and watched the NZ’land road trip last week. Wanted to comment on your channel, the quality of the filming, editing, choreography, and general entertainment quality of your productions…a solid 10, best of anything I watch. The emotional connections, the sincerity of the communication often touches deeply. Hope you all are well. Hope you can continue at some point, your filming and travels! ☮️♥️ good luck..
Hi ! Cool Video ! I've found something kind of bizarre in the beginning of this video ! If you'll slow the speed down to 25% & starting at time 5:59 & it ends at 6:00. You may have captured a very unique UFO sighting ! And to add that Tim woke with a swollen face hints to a possible encounter. Best of Luck !
Lol love your energy. Only Americans call them red eye flights. Loved the hippie van. Reminds me of the 70s. So glad i stumbled across your channel. I see a binge watch coming on.
This is amazing! Thank you, guys! So much helpful information! I love that this video reflects a reality of your trip, all great and challenging moments!
Oh my goodness I really appreciate it this video you guys done a fantastic job of showcasing the perfect country in the world. Absolutely inspirational and as soon as this virus is over I want to get down to the South Island of New Zealand and have a look around to those views those Mountains the vibe I'm sure is amazing super super keen for the Inspiration
You missed out on the penguins in the Caitlins and I can't believe you didn't go to Stewart Island. Apart from that it looks like you had a great time. Yes we do get quite a lot of rain, that's why my country is so green and our farm produce is so good.
Went and stay in North Island in 2019. Love the country. Perhaps, one day I can do a road trip and have a period of Van life, road trip as you guys did ❤
Sandflies. ..Man & women would sit and just admire the beauty of paradise. Nothing would get done. So the powers that be introduced Sandflies to get people moving. Almost August now. Only kiwis travelling around now.Thank for the video.
That's funny, I had to stop because the audio was pretty bad - I had trouble hearing what they were saying. Still will probably go back to it and push through though. :)
Ahhhh, my home country, tho Oz has been my home for the last 21 yrs. Sorry about the rain, it happens there, particularly the west and SW areas of the South Island. But you had your revenge, my wife and I got hurricane struck during our 2018 Hawaii holiday haha
Tim u are a perfect match fo this girl and show it once in a while making us feel good for a wonderful couple. I am sorry to say that u missed some outstanding places on North isle. Rotorua is great hot bubbling springs and thermal electric plants. Linden
Is nice to see you guys kept smiling and happy when you got stuck :) we had a similar experience but with a 7.2m motorhome stuck in the mud deep into the Caitlins, we had to walk a few km to find a farmer with a tractor, the farmer was super friendly and we got to experience a bit of day to day farming. Great video btw! Not even half way in and this already is giving me good ideas for my next trip :)
Thanks! Still can't believe to this day we managed to get unstuck. Grew up riding four wheelers and driving 4x4's....and I didn't think there was anyway we were gonna get that little wicked camper unstuck in that kind of mud on an incline. Finneys rock idea worked though and away we went. We did miss out on the whole "Find a farmer experience" though. Next time!
Great Video! Like it... specially your positive feeling with many smiles 😊 although a lot of rain. In 2005 we travelled to NZ for 5 weeks. Mostly better wheather than you. 🤷🏼♂️ Next time with a camper van? You encouraged us! 🎉 Thanks a lot ❤
We went to a cruise to NZ 2 years ago and the star destination was a trip from Milford Sound across the island to Dunedin, with a stop in Queenstown. It was about 1000$ per person. The trip was canceled due to strong storms in the area which blocked the roads. They directed us to Stewart Island, which was breathtaking. Now I realize that weather can actually spoil the whole trip on these destinations. Anyways, you guys are amazing, we say hi to you from Michigan!
Sorry we served up some shit weather in my island, glad you made the best of it. Thanks for keeping the rubbish under control too, totally awesome, so you're welcome to come back lol, you know you will. Marlborough weather mostly always good and you can wake up in a vineyard. Live life - Be safe.
I discovered your first videos about 8 months ago. You do a great job, have funny personalities, and make entertaining yet true-to-life content. I do love it. But I am right now in NZ in Wellington, about to tour the South Island knowing that my itinerary will have to be altered after major landslides closed my route a couple weeks ago, and TH-cam happened to be recommended your NZ experience. I was SO excited to see your trip, and so SAD that you missed most of the very best places! My family lived a year in Mount Maunganui in 2015, and my sons and I took frequent budget road trips when school was out. As a professional photographer, I couldn't wait to see you your reaction to amazing places, but I also know it is very hard to be on the road, on a deadline, and plan on the fly. Seriously though, you have got to give NZ another chance. I'd love to provide you with a better itinerary! But yeah, the weather... that's another thing. Keep up the good work. Love the aerial footage too!
@@timandfin haha yes. Doing the dishes is not the most fun thing to do, but if I can dream in the meanwhile that I am in New Zealand on the coolest spots, makes it way less worse😃
Great video! Loved to see your travelling and reminds me so much from when I was in NZ about 13 years ago! I've travelled NZ for a total of 9 months and in between went to Australia for 3 months as well. Was a great experience just after graduating uni and before starting my working life! I'm planning to go back and have a wonderful trip again (although not for 9 months duration unfortunately)!
World certainly has changed since you guys were down under in New Zealand. Hope covid 19 has dulled you spirits and that yous are well. All the best from Nz.
as a humble kiwi i thank you for your extremely watchable wander through Aotearoa. I apologise for the sandflies (we asked for perfection but were told 'perhaps next-time'), and natures grimace as far as the weather went but all going well it will give you an excuse to travel back here in later life when i'm sure she will allow you a further glance at her wondrous beauty.
Everything wouldn't be so green without the rain! As soon as the world gets back to normal, we hope to visit again. In the meantime, we're jealous everytime we see a rugby match or huge public gathering from NZ and everything looks 100% normal! Hope you guys have the sandflies problem sorted by then too ;)
Next time use Avon's Skin so soft oil to prevent bug bites. Fun it on you skin before getting dressed. We went camping all the time growing up and that stuff works great for all kinds of bugs including sand fleas/flies.
May I suggest that next time you should go to NZ during Oct-Nov-Dec as it's going into summer so its a lot warmer. Thank you for your vids it was funny and yet so good to see my home country again. :)
Hi guys, I love the format of your videos as compared with other van life explorers, you provide viewers the entire kitten kaboodle unlike many of the other vloggers that compartmentalize the locations possibly to save on vlogging. So thank you for allll of your tireless efforts that provide high value to viewers😙💯🔱🕉🏁
Hey I'm Dave, I'm kiwi, I live in the North Island and I did a similar trip around the South Island to the one you both did. It was awesome watching your road trip sorry the weather was wet haha that can be typical for our country at times, awesome work you look like a great couple😀
I just hate being sick.. However, it has it's perks because you have time to watch T&F:s travel videos for the 20:th time. :) Thanks guys for doing this!
Kia Ora, you two are very entertaining! i am from Aotearoa NZ and was wondering how long ago you's were here? i started watching your videos only just recently and didnt realise that you's had even traveled here. i think that you's are cool as and good on you's. great travelling. enjoyed all your RV travels as well. Awesome as.
Thanks Ben! That was back in March 2017-ish? NZ was def a highlight of the trip and we talk frequently about going back. We had to go on such a barebones budget which made it fun, but also had to skip a lot of things we'd be able to do now. For example, no eating out- only PAK'nSAVE runs. We had to skp all the fun stuff in Queenstown too! Luckily, the best stuff is free if you're willing to put in the work and hike. We'll be back soon to make up for all the amazing adventures that we had to miss the first time round.
You's are awesome! You would of really enjoyed it if it was the summer,( because it shine's a lot ), and if you made it to the Bay of Islands, also, because a lot of sights are all in a close vicinity of one another. Rock on Tim & Fin!
That's amazing, if you's ever make it to the Bay of Islands, Northland, look us up. i'll have a place for you's to park up, (at no cost ), and shower and toilet, lol, and maybe take you sight seeing if you's like? Love the vlogs.
Next time you want to experience the cheeky Kea... go skiing at Mt Hutt and you'll see a couple of naughty little guys (one gets the crowd amused, while the other one tears the rubber from the windscreen of the said crowd's rental car...) farkin' funny as, bro... I love them... crazy birds...
wow you guys are studs now, not the scruffy backpackers of yesterday. I would love to do that NZ trek some day ... just need to find my muse first
My favorite couple on the internet right now.. stuck in the epicenter of New York the two of you made me survive quarantine... itching to travel, but for now I’ll just follow your vlogs!

Love the honest way of taking us with you on this roadtrip. And being part of the adventure.
You gotta visit the Ocean Boulders during low tide, several are 1/2 eroded Away creating a seat in the center, pretty cool!
Great that you enjoyed your time in my country, we need more people from afar like you. Safe trip and stay safe....

Fantastic!! and the drone footage, while it is probably a pain to carry, really adds sooo much to the videos....great job!
An ABSOLUTE pain to carry. Chappie just bit the dust in New Orleans though....so it looks like we're picking up a Mavic Air next week!
2 beautiful people in a beautiful country. Cheers from Australia!👍👍🍷🍷
I’ve just spent the last1.5 hours smiling. Thank you both!!! Lovely lovely lovely!!!
Amazing. so beautiful. excellent guidance. love it.
I made the comment on volume and learned about volume leveling on Roku so thank you for giving me the opportunity to learn.
This was one of the best doing the dishes video, many thx
Haha that’s what I do too! Thanks for the nice comment ☺️☺️ -Fin
@@timandfin haha yes. Doing the dishes is not the most fun thing to do, but if I can dream in the meanwhile that I am in New Zealand on the coolest spots, makes it way less worse😃
sometimes you can get a free van to deliver to auckland, they fill the tank and pay the ferry fare, also in reverse.
Just watched your live video....You guys are the best👍👍👍😁
I have been watching your videos from the start. I must say you are doing VERY GOOD, you are doing better than TV super star. Wow.
You two are just the best love you both to bits xxx
your verry happys...im hope your come back VIETNAM one more time...good luck for your trip
From New Zealand, you guys are fit, and you two, suit each other, awesome.
Love, love, love your video. You guys make a great team
World certainly has changed since you guys were down under in New Zealand. Hope covid 19 has dulled you spirits and that yous are well. All the best from Nz.
Lol sori, *HASN'T dulled your spirits 🙂👍
as a humble kiwi i thank you for your extremely watchable wander through Aotearoa.
Hope you guys have the sandflies problem sorted by then too ;)
I'm appreciate you guys for your work 🎉
Next time use Avon's Skin so soft oil to prevent bug bites. Fun it on you skin before getting dressed. We went camping all the time growing up and that stuff works great for all kinds of bugs including sand fleas/flies.
I feel like I'm traveling with too I never see anybody uploading hour+ videos I really like this.
What a ridiculously underrated vlog and channel
That was great, really enjoyed this video, your an entertaining team, well done guys.
BREATHTAKING VIEWS SCENERY COLORS & BEAUTY !
May I suggest that next time you should go to NZ during Oct-Nov-Dec as it's going into summer so its a lot warmer. Thank you for your vids it was funny and yet so good to see my home country again. :)
Could you do a video on what you packed please? 🙂
Wonderful intro ....stunningly professional good job
Great video guys. Real shame you didn't visit NZ in summer, and experience better weather.
You are so cool, guys! I enjoyed so much this video!
Thank you ☺️
Hey I'm Dave, I'm kiwi, I live in the North Island and I did a similar trip around the South Island to the one you both did. It was awesome watching your road trip sorry the weather was wet haha that can be typical for our country at times, awesome work you look like a great couple😀
In the process of getting a camper van actually to do just that in NZ. I've already come over in December, with a 14 day lock down. I've just arrived.
lol the land of the long white cloud. End of January is usually better weather here. And I do recommend DOC campsites. (department of conservation)
I just made it to New Zealand! Thank you for sharing such an incredible resource for backpackers! Just subscribed and excited to see more! :)
We have a New Zealand budget video if this helps for your trip! th-cam.com/video/_eG1ZuQzpUs/w-d-xo.html
You two are wonderful to watch
Nice and beautiful higcing and beautiful journey.
Those birds you both saw were commonly know here in NZ as 'Sea Gulls'.
Gerat video. I'm definitely going. BTW, what's that cool song at 1:11:30. I tried Shazam but no results.
Hi just curious to know what track was that at 39:28? The view looks insane. Lots of thanks!
Oldie but goodie! Y'all were super cute then! Now you're like travel pros Again, thanks for saving me from Mexico TV!
She looks so happy ❤️
hi guys I love love love your videos I am going to do the exact same thing when I grow up
Did you rock your way out of the mud? Wow never thought pushing would help.
