A friend of mine found a signed picture of Tallulah at an Estate Sale and gave it to me for Christmas. I love this woman!

I'm so surprised that no one has made a movie about her life. it would be great.

No doubt Tallulah was snickering behind Ethel's back. We used to be cool.

Ethel doesn't have hardly any wobble on her song here, but her vowels are sometimes so changed during a held word. Gershwin told her to not take any voice lessons, and she didn't...but I wish that she would have coached some...

…. I love love love the way Merman pronounces words in her singing. I’m glad that there was no singing coach to tone her down or to adjust her style. Ethel Merman was unique and she’s one of the few singers whom I can listen to and I just smile and my spirits are lifted. 🥰🥰🥰

Judith L. Morton: Just because you’re a lesbian doesn’t mean that every woman is. “So it said”, who says so? I don’t know about Bankhead but there is no indication in any of Merman’s biographies. And she was very clear that she preferred and enjoyed men.

@@johnpickford4222 That’s always the most lame and borderline anti-gay of responses. Leave the condescending and presumptuous “just because you’re…” nonsense at the door.
