Doug, that flat tool you found is your emergency gear shifter lever when the hondamatic transmission electric motor stops working for shifting there's a little nut on the side of the transmission you stick at on and it lets you manually shift gears.
@@SXSBlog yes look on you gearbox or sometimes its an access panel under or near the seats should look like an ATV GEAR shift shaft sticking out that tool will fit on. See Honda puts it on all Hondamatic drives because if the shift motor goes bad you can't shift the unit into any gear. This tool lets you put the unit into any gear and drive BUT you CAN NOT shift gears while driving its just to get you limping home. 👍
Mount location for that doesn't really have an impact since it has to run around the front edge of the seat anyways. Its job is just to keep the main harness located correctly.
I’m not sure what’s in Nick’s vape but I want it. I will have to hide this video from my 13 year old kid, he likes to vape on the bus. He’s a work in progress.

Interesting article discussing 2" vs 3" harness webbing: www.onedirt.com/tech/chassis-suspension/are-2-inch-lap-restraints-safer-than-3-inch-lap-belts/ At 26 minutes, where 5th point "importance" is mentioned, with Sous belted in, his lap belt is too loose (read too high-should be in the "pelvic pocket"), and his shoulder straps are too tight (pulling the lap belt up too high). That condition could cause internal injuries, as mentioned in the article linked above. For the Talon (or any upright seated SxS), I'll use 2" 4 point. I think 5th points are more effective/necessary in more reclined seating positions, as found in open wheel road course cars. I agree Simpson is a good choice (offers 2" webbing) as many automotive harness makers don't incorporate shoulder pads, since most auto rules require flame retardant suits, so pads aren't needed. Safety for recreational vehicles, while obviously important, is a compromise between comfort/convenience/safety. I have enough confidence in a properly secured 4 point, in a upright seat SxS, as I do the 3 point/air bag systems in my street vehicles.
the funky tool that was just sitting there is important! If for some reason your transmission will not select a gear...that goes on a nut on the transmission and you can select a gear and limp home
