It's horrible what Helene has done to many places not expecting such flash flooding. I think most of us are in the mindset of how to be prepared now. Thanks for your input on your experiences because we can learn from them too. Glad you're both safe.
I live in Houston Texas and we’ve gone through some hurricanes. Plenty we just had to straight wins in May and then hurricane Beryl.. but every year for the past, I don’t know 10 years or more we cut trees down, cut them down or cut them to the under the roof line so just recently before no actually after the street win and before the hurricane I cut I hired someone to cut this massive sycamore tree that was way above the roof line and if it would’ve cracked and broke, it would’ve landed on my roof and cracked it now this was a massive massive tree probably 40 years old or something I don’t know Big so they charged us a good penny but it was worth it. I think I paid $1800 to cut it down under the roof line Sycamore is very heavy wood so it took like two days for them to haul it all out here, but my mindset was gone because hurricane barrel did a number on my roof with my shingles but it could’ve been worse if I had that tree up so I’m cutting trees constantly trimming trees off the roof because it’s not good for the shingles. I mean Just right now. I don’t even have any big trees. I have a pear tree that we just did a massive pruning to it as well, but trees are not very big because it was really small. 23 years old now. 🍐
Smart move.
So glad y’all made it through the storm with minimal damage 🥰
Thank you so much 🥰
