I love the simplicity of the video! The idea to use the straw to make the hole is so good, I will definitely use it! Thank you for sharing your process with us ❤️
They look beautiful!!! I was thinking if someone is afraid of drawing they could probably stamp on these as well. There are some stamps that look like the old illustrations in pen and ink of flowers, bugs etc.
Hi Sanhita. Good idea, a stamp would be much easier If people don't want to draw them on. But I like to keep costs down and love drawing. Which design is your favorite? as I'm making you one so you can choose! Just let me know. Michelle x
Your pieces came out beautifully! Though you mentioned wanting to leave the matte look, wouldn’t it be advisable to apply a matte varnish to seal the pieces? What kind of mat do you have? The problem with the surface is that the clay can stick to it. Minnie is so cute and her eyes are adorable! Thank you!
Thank you for your comment. It's been a little while since I made the Insect tags so Im not sure what matt I used. I left them unglazed because I just prefer the matt look and didnt feel like they needed protecting, and years later they look exactly the same. I do however use a super matt finish spray if Im selling them in my shop. People often mention Minnies eyes, they look so human. Michelle :-)
These are lovely, you are so talented. I suppose you could do a transfer of a black and white print. I'm going to try that. Mainly because I can't draw a straight line with a ruler😊
Hi Michelle. Great idea, as usual. I think even I could have a go at that, not quite sure about the drawing tho. Enjoy your weekend. Can't wait for the Spring here. Today we should get to 18 dec. Almost bearable to sit outside for lunch, need a coat tho.👍🏻😀❤️
Hi Carol, you should give it a go. Spring is my favorite time of year, especially living here in the countryside. Its cold here today...I actually put a jumper on!! I'm busy working on making more insect plaques this evening to send of to my Patrons!... its a good job I like drawing! Michelle x
This should have a lot more views! I love your doggie and your accent is so charming. * warm greetings from America!, your ornaments look so professional .... I would buy those if I had seen them in a store 💕😉
These are awesome but what isn’t awesome that you create. Lol I love this but I don’t have a lot of patience and every person I’ve seen use that air dry clay said you needed to work quickly. I use my cooling racks almost exclusively during the holidays. I love nature things for decor. I’ve been collecting some things to decorate my new plant grow room that I use to start all my vegetable and flower seedlings in. I’m glad you didn’t gloss them. It’s amazing what you created with a package of clay and a sharpie. Hope I’m in the group of patrons who get one of these. I hope you and your kids as well as Minnie are all doing well. Take care!
Hello Tawana, sorry for the late reply. My children went back to school today after there summer holidays, so now I can get caught up! I'm so jealous that you have a grow room! I've always wanted a space like that. Maybe one day! I'm glad you like the insect plaques. I'm busy making you one right now. Which insect would you like me to draw on it? Michelle x
Michelle, I am so honored to support your channel, something I have been wanting to do for so long, as you know. Your gift in creating beauty out of everyday items is marvelous. Please do not be shy to contact me via email for any reasons, you are my friend from away, but still so close to my heart. Bigs hugs and kisses to the family, Minnie and especially yourself. Thank you so much for sharing. Celyne xxxx
Thank you Celyne, that means so much to me. Thank you for being a friend, it really does feel like your there for me, and that's a really nice feeling. Without your support, I just wouldn't be able to do what I do. Hope you love your clay plaques as much as I enjoy making them ♥ Michelle ♥ x
@@MinnieandMoore Michelle, I see that many women are afraid to try their hands on something new and are afraid to show their true talent by saying that they cannot draw but will stamp; it is sad as I am so certain that with a little practice, they would be fabulous. Never give up, never give in...we are winners and so wonderful. Know that even nature is not always perfect, and these imperfections are most prized. Love always, Celyne xxx
You are so right in what you say. My drawings seem to start out quite imperfect, then I just have faith and put my heart into it, then it seems to always turn out well. I strategy I use in life I guess!! x
@@MinnieandMoore Yes Michelle, it is called self-confidence. You view yourself doing it and you hand will follow your vision in your mind's eye. It takes practice, but anyone can draw beautifully if just giving themselves a chance. Trust in yourself and your ability. xx
These are just gorgeous Michelle. I’m so impressed you drew the insects off the top of your head. How long have you been doing illustrations of insects? 😊
These are fabulous! (the bee!!!) I was so sure these were stamps but you actually draw then! oO ! Oh I really want to make some now!! (but stamping them :D no way I can draw!)
Hi! Glad you like my insect plaques. It's really not that tricky if you draw it on with a pencil first. I've just spent the past few hours drawing bee's on plaques for my patrons as they've all said that's the one they like best! Thank you for your comment! Michelle x
I love your channel and Minnie. She’s so lovable. I want to use the air dry clay to make stems for my velvet pumpkins but I’m worried they’ll be too fragile and break. Is this material easy to break? Thanks!
Hi Kellie, I moved into the town after splitting up with my husband. Its only 10 minutes away from where we lived, and we are still in the beautiful northumberland countryside. :-)
These are beautiful thanks for the tutorial ... Watching from new Zealand and will try this one.
Thanks so much 😊 Minnie

Thought they were print transfer
Great drawings but by not sealing the work aren't they in danger of drawing moisture to the clay and crumbling? Could use a matt finish.

Hello! Sorry for the late reply. I think the air dried clay would work ok, but maybe don't make it too big? Let me know how you get on. Michelle :-)
Hi,
Can I ask which varnish you use? I’m trying to figure out the vest way to give my air dry clay a shiny/glazed effect .
Thanks :) xx
Hi there. Thank you for your question. I didn't varnish them. I liked the flat matt look too much! :-)
Stamping it would be faster and easier
Very true! but more expensive. I try to make things on a budget so people can copy easier. Thank you for your comment. Michelle
Why did you move to the city. I'd stay at the farm house more freedom.
Hi Kellie, I moved into the town after splitting up with my husband. Its only 10 minutes away from where we lived, and we are still in the beautiful northumberland countryside. :-)
