I use condor zero stress molded ones, I think they make me play better and it stops the flight keep popping off which used to piss me off a ton, I find molder a more fun playing experience tbh 👍
Great video guys! I'm using shell lock caps with regular flight and stem setup. No more robinhoods and no more broken stems at all and you can buy a shell lock flight punch cheaper than a set of molded flight. Personally I don't really like the look of the molded flights, if you can customize your setup is much more fun.
Yeah moulded miss out on the customisation aspect, maybe one day it will be an option. Flight protectors are a viable option for keeping the flights safe 🐂🎯
Storm points and l style champagne rings are my favourite combination. They are so durable and you only ever need to replace the flights as the rings and stems last forever (at least they have for me!)
Spot on: I glue my flights in. They never come out & the cost of replacing the lot is minimal. Have you tried rip stop fabric flights? They're thick so even without gluing they pretty much stay put (I'll glue when stems slacken) but apart from being really durable they're very flexible & don't obstruct following darts as much.
I preferred the condors when they came out but not a great selection of colors and where to expensive which then made me change back to the standard stem and flight
I've used moulded flights ever since condor became pretty big and i started playing more seriously like a year and a half ago and before that always traditional flight and stem and i have never had any problems with molded flights. Of course traditional will always give you more for your money but moulded is still really good price-value. A set of K-Flex is like 10 euros. The benefits of moulded surpass the ones of traditional for me. They are really durable, haven't changed my K-Flex in a month practicing 4 to 6 hours a day, i think they look the best, everything the same color and no obvious and eye catching branding or logos which i absolutely hate, the chance for Robin Hoods and flights popping off is literally 0 which i always found really obnoxious plus they always stay in the exact same angle obviously. Also i don't care about customizability in the slightest, always plain black. So yeah traditional flight and stem is great but i think it will always be moulded for me personally. I use Lstyle carbon stems with the L1 ez flights and never looked back , £16 for the stems and £6 for flights every time they need replacing. Carbon stems are solid and no issues in the 9 months of heavy use only thing that has worn on them is the logo, flights are good but like most get chewed up is you dont have something like a storm point but keep their shape nice
Used many combos over the past 30 years playing. Ive tried most of the moulded and im now set on using fusions. I dont find i have any more deflection than a standard setup. The big plus for me is purely phycological, i was forever fiddling with and checking my flights when playing. Now i know they are always 100% right and my concentration is better. Playing better than ever. The fusions last pretty well, slight chips in the ends after many hours. I wont be going back to a standard setup any time soon.
Another note. K fkex and fusion are 7-8 pound on Amazon. Next day delivery. Getting hold of them isnt difficult. Buy 2 sets then if one breaks you have a replacement there and then.
I use condor axe and k flex. I would never use a folded flight again. I don’t get bounce outs and if you’re worried about chipping the flights buy 180 nose ones or tapered points. I have flights that I’ve used for 6 months with out a single nick in it. Also it actually helps grouping. The flight has a channel on the stem that lets the incoming darts follow the stem and barrel straight into almost the same hole as the previous dart
I use Cuesoul AK5 all in one, the stem is a hard stem, but the flight is a lot more flexible than condor, kflex and winmau. going back to where you said the kflex snapped when it fell out the board, I see a lot of people showing their broken kflex. thats just how the flight was manufactured, and it may just have been a bad batch
If I was a pro I would be using folded as they make for less bounce outs and deflections. But for me when I play maybe 30 minutes a day moulded are so much more convienient. No flights popping off, no broken stems, you don't need to change the flights every week etc. My Condor Axes look brand new after playing with them everyday for the past 6 months, no damage to them besides cosmetic scratches. I don't think there is right or wrong here, just whatever is more important to you.
Played darts over 50yrs, tried every type of stem and flight combination at present using the 8 stems for screw on flight, there great, better than moulded also cheaper as you can buy flight or stem separately
i've messed around with loads of setups, still the best one for me are the target progrip stems with mission titanium rings and trident nose cones. with that setup my stems last months, the rings never break and the flights last forever. still have a setup that has lasted about 4 months and is still almost new.

They are a bit more expensive but i'd never go back to normal stems and flights, they do have some cons but all flight/stem combos have them. In terms of grouping they are really solid & deflections are also really really good. They do deflect a bit but not nearly as much as normal stem/flight combos and robin hoods are 0,0 with my condors. I recommend anyone who sees this to at least give em a try and you will be impressed, i promise. Oh ps. What i wanted to mention also is that i throw alot better with the moulded ones, and i believe that is the reason why alot of pros dont use them, because theyre used to the normal stem/flight combos. You need to change your throw a little bit with moulded ones, i believe because they're not as rigid as the normal combos. They flex quite a bit and i believe that changes how the dart flies somewhat, and also with moulded ones you need to use darts which are 2g heavier to compensate for the weight loss of the stems/flights :)
Agreed, I use traditional flight and stem combo, I’ve tried moulded flights and they are not for me always revert back but the fusions and stuff are still a good choice and both have pros and cons
i use short pro grip with a punch and ring system black pear flight and a gold flight topper, i do go through a fair few sets of flights because i split them down the sides a lot so im going to try a molded system but im skeptical on it
Great video and nice honest opinion. I tried loads of different molded set ups (Condor, Target, Mission, Shot) and as much as I like the 90 degree flight, I found that the deflections I was getting were more extreme. I don’t think I was getting more, but instead of going for a 20 and deflecting into a 5, I was getting deflections into a 12 or 18. The expense is a big factor too. I’m sticking with medium stem and punched, folded flights for sure. 🎯👍

for me its molded because ive used condors for 2 years 15 quid set i have 5 sets but if you have a heavey tjrow like me when i use folded they fly all over the place
I use cosmo fit gear. Rocket insides, which are fairly thin and #3 carbon shafts, spinning. I'm actually trying out the S3 pros which have an extra lip around the edge to help them last longer before testing. I've tried the condors but I find them way too stiff and I get severe deflections. Enjoyed the video.
Been playing darts for pub teams since 1978. Throughout the years, I was a regular 'Robin Hooder.' The amount of flights and stems I wrecked was ridiculous. I have only recently turned to moulded and I am so enjoying them. No more Robin Hooding. No more flights whizzing out. Yes, they are pricey, but I think well worth it. I chuck 32 gram darts and they are fine.

I've found the Cuesoul Ak5's to be extremely durable, I agree with other comments about combining one piece flight systems with some sort of specialty point that has a trident or cone to avoid deflections. Enjoyed the video.👍
I dabbled with the condors but as i throw a light dart I felt they almost 'bounced' my darts away if they were going to group. When i tried with heavier wasnt an issue.

I've been using pro grip spin shafts with the Robson plus flights these help with the robin hood stuff and the flightsare very durable, I guess they're abit of both setups. I was thinking about trying the molded zero stress setup but don't want to throw money at something I might not like What do yous reckon?
I will have to disagree. I started with folded just like everyone else and I found that they just wouldn't hold up. Either my stems would break or the flight would get damaged. Since I have switched to molded system (over a year ago) I haven't had to replace anything. Now full disclosure, I am just a casual darts player. I play with my kids at home and go out to the pub with my friends about once a month. For me, paying a bit more for the molded flight is well worth it as it is a PITA to change the stems/flights on a regular basis.
I use both! I use the flights and stems on my mvg triology and Black intermediate K flex on my Littler Pixels. I think they both work very well and can't feel much difference between them!

You're using two of the three worst moulded on the market. Fusions are so unstable. K flex and reinforced at the top of the flight which just asks for deflections. The other trash moulded flights are the Shot! Look and feel like something out of a Kinder Egg! I've used all. And by far, the two best moulded on the market are Condor Axes, and Cuesoul Rost T19. Axe's are so stable and take a HUGE kicking with ease. T19's I find a slight less stable through the air. But they have the softest flight going. Thrown in the mix that I solely only use Storm points now. Deflections are almost none existent. 100% moulded all the way for me.
To be fair, the flights we used in the video was just to show the different version of flight and stems. Not necessarily a review of the fusion, just something to have in the dart while throwing, to discuss moulded flights in general. But we understand your point and it is personal preference 🐂🎯

Well said - too many people falling for the marketing and the new trendy accessories- I don’t mind the k flex or condor axe but they’re just not any better than a traditional setup. I only use them if I’m desperate to try regain some form and want my darts to fly differently

Big difference with moulded and folded set ups is that it'll cost you 60p to replace a flight.. But, if they're moulded it'll cost you £6.

The Shot mouldeds are the ones that give the least deflections theyre alot softer than the kflex and fusions
