Thank you for this reaction! Spirit Blossom was one of my favorite events when it first came out! They did Yone’s release so so well! It is kind of a darker theme with connections to the spirit world. Ionia is a region in Runeterra. Champions like Ahri, Yasuo, Yone, Akali, Shen, Lilia, Irelia, Karma and others are from Ionia! Ionia has a closer tie to the spirit world than other regions. Yasuo did kill his brother in self-defense 😢 Yasuo & Yone’s sword master was killed while Yone and other students went to fight the Noxius invasion (another region in Runeterra). Yasuo was supposed to stay behind and protect their master. When Yone and the students returned they found their master dead & Yasuo gone so they assumed Yasuo had done it. This is why Yone says “then why are you running”. When Yasuo killed Yone, Yone woke up in the spirit world. He was enraged by his failures as a brother and student, which is why he’s so angry in the animated trailer. But there was a red azakana, a demon, that laughed at him and attacked him. Yone didn’t defeat the azakana 100%, which is why the demon’s face is a mask on Yone that he cannot remove. It somehow made him go back to the real world and through the demon’s mask Yone can see other azakana, like the one that was hunting Yasuo. Azakana feed off of people’s fears and regrets. So Yone hunts azakana to protect others from being devoured, but he is not 100% protected himself because of the demon on his face. It was actually Riven who killed Yone & Yasuo’s master. I would have to double check, but I believe she asked their master to destroy her sword. And destroying the sword is what killed their master. 😢
While working the night shift tonight, all I have been doing is going back and watching people's reaction to Kin of the Stained Blade. Most of the vidoes are two years old now... I remember when I first watched it too. Kin of the Stained Blade is, in my opinion, the best cinematic Riot has -ever- released. The story of Yasuo is phenomenal, and Yone was an excellent addition to his backstory. There are very few stories like this in video games, the only ones I can even think of are of Arthas and Illidan (who btw has the same voice actor as Yasuo) from Warcraft 3 / World of Warcraft, and also Dante, Virgil and Nero from Devil May Cry. This cinematic is absolute -kino.- I'm happy to see that people are still watching it for the first time.

I forgot how much i loved the original cinematics for spirit blossom! The animation and audio are so cool
