  • Leah Song takes us on a journey and a conversation that is as poetic as it is educational. She is one of the sisters of “Rising Appalachia” a popular band from the United States.
From her choosing to join an indigenous movement in Mexico instead of college, to being a wildly successful musician focused on art, Leah is honest, raw and this conversation was inspiring both from an artists’ point of view and an entrepreneurial point of view, too.

Thank you for this inspiration today. I am completely inspired by Leah's honesty and vulnerability. I really needed the reminder that authenticity does not equal perfection and there is value in the cracks and scars. Love. I am from the deep South of the US and have also gotten out and now live abroad. When I was leaving NOLA, I saw RA live and I cried the ENTIRE concert. I felt truly guilty about giving out that energy in that format. It simply just all came out. When she said she likes to feel the energy of the room... I thought OH NO! Hope she didn't see the crazy crying woman in the corner! HAA. Love her and her sister and am so glad to have stumbled upon this today.

I was born an outsider too but did not have a strong or encouraging family. I always felt like I had to be different than my true nature and this creates a lifetime of inner conflict and self abandonment. My heart is sad and I wish to heal and become comfortable with being an outsider. For now I usually just solitude and try protect my inner world
