  • The 2022 Weaver Wander sees classic cars and a varied selection of more recent sportscars take to the roads of Cheshire & Shropshire, with various charities benefiting from the entry fees to this navigational road run. It's organised by the Rotary Club of Crewe and Nantwich Weaver.
The cars initially gathered in Hankelow, near Audlem, which isn't far from the Cheshire/Shropshire border, their occupants - driver & navigator(s) - then signed in over the road in the White Lion pub. At around 10am the cars headed off, there were two route options available, one 50 miles, the other 80 miles, which explains why cars are shown heading in different directions in this Old Classic Car video. Later they'd return to the grounds of a nearby country pile for a cup of tea and a chance to chat with fellow entrants.
In this video I talk about many of the cars that took part, with an emphasis on older cars as befits the channel. One in particular caught my eye, an immaculate 1947 MG TC and I was fortunate enough to grab a few minutes with its owner and have a chat about its restoration, the conversation we had is in the vid. My thanks to him for spending time having a chat with me for the vid. Later the cars are shown heading off on the run.
Other cars include a Jaguar Mk2, Morris 1100, lots of MGs, Triumphs, various VWs, a rare Mazda RX3, Jaguars, Austins, a tasty Volvo 123GT and a late SAAB 96 V4, several Citroen 2CVs, and many others.
When you're finished here please take a look at the other vids now on the channel, many of which feature other old-car meets & museums in this and other areas.

Hi from NZ! Thanks so much for the nostalgia from a 72 MGB GT owner (ex-UK). Lovely to see so many classic cars. We're also ex-MX5 Mk1 and 2 owners. Your comments about the Morris 1100 were spot on - we suffered exactly that rot!
    Cheers,
    Geoff

Hello Richard . Another cracking show ! The hard top on that MGB was a Bermuda . That "Rally " mini with the sliding windows ? It had concealed hinges !!! A right mixture ! And l must say that TR5 was a horrible shade of Green ! Thanks Richard

How nice to see the Austin 1100
I took on my Grandads in 1974 after his passing to try keep his memory going, inner and outer sills gone, sub frame gone, floor pan gone n/s so changed both, tried to keep it going but sadly after 2 yrs I had to scrap it 🙁
Lovely video to see the rare cars ty 👍🙂

Had a Morris 1100, sporty steering wheel, my wife loved, until we found out the dangerous faults. Ah well, that's life. Love the video, keep them coming. Peace be unto you.

First 😀 an excellent distraction from the worlds current turmoil. Comment before watching completely because I know it will be interestingly good.

I enjoyed this video very much . I have a Morris Minor 1000 and two ADO16, A' 67 MG sports saloon, and a '68 Austin America. The hydrolastic suspension in the ado16 are mind boggling on our washboard roads out here in the California high desert.

Nice to see so many MG's of different years. Very interesting to hear from an owner on the work done. I liked the 1100, a friend had one for a number of years I think he may have passed his test in, he loved that car. I know they are a bit modern but the TVR with that changing paint was so nice and not forgetting the thunderbird. Thanls Rick for a Great video.

"Pretty Car", love it. Great overage of a super meeting, many thanks. Some beautiful cars present. If I had to choose, it would be the Standard Steel Bentley and the Austin Big 7.

Absolutely with you re number plates - if it’s newer than 1972 at the youngest they just look ridiculous 👍

Lovely cars, lovely day. My favourite was the Morris 1100. Second favourite the little black Austin. Thanks for the video. Cheers from Tasmania Australia.

I agree about the 1100, having learnt to drive on one exactly like it.. If I remember rightly that colour was advertised as smoke grey, which never struck me as a good description

@@jb3222 My first two cars were 1100s. The second one was an 1100 S which were an Australian special. Had the 1275 engine but single carb. Great little car. They were everywhere in Australia too but you rarely see one now.

The earlier SAAB 96s were 3-cylinder 2-stroke powered, this era of car though has a Ford of Germany V4 engine.

Thanks for another great video. Which car(s) would I choose for the run? The Bentley MK6 Standard Steel saloon, or the silver Corvette that showed itself at the last minute.
