I am 81 and use to be a football player in the UK at a high level. I have seen some wonderful players in my time but Messi leaves them all for dead. There is nothing he cannot do! He is indeed the greatest player of all time bar none!

What can I say... I've seen Maradona videos, but Messi was ALWAYS a more disciplined player, and in my opinion, better. Never into drugs and always paying attention to his body, thats why in his many years of play, almost never injured.. and still going strong (Although a little slower and older).

MESSI AND MARADONA ARE FROM ANOTHER PLANET.
We all are wowed by the flicks and tricks of these incredible athletes, but what struck me more when I had the opportunity to see Messi live was how much time he spent in warmups just doing the very basics. Nothing fancy, just one and two touch passing, simple dribbling, simple trapping, basic keepy-uppy. Probably 95% of his routine when not doing drills with teammates was just that stuff. Imagine the dedication to one's craft it takes to not show off and just focus on the rudiments in front of thousands of people? Nothing is ever mastered, everything can be done better. That's why the fundamentals matter and what I learned from Messi that night.
