      The drone definitely adds some perspective to the videos! It's a lot of fun to fly and learn how to use, too. Thank you for watching😊

    Brilliant move, Ben. Bring a master carpenter with you to build the dock!
    Reminds me of helping my dad build the dock at Goss Lake. You are getting better at making these videos. Wolverine and Deadpool have nothing on you!

      Probably the best move of the entire trip! I miss going up to the Goss Lake cabin with you and your family. Great times and awesome trout fishing! Those are some of my favorite memories growing up.
      It would be interesting to see how a professional movie director/producer would edit some of these videos 😂 thank you for recognizing the improvements, effort, and for watching!!! 😊

    Great to see you back at the cabin with your dad. Can’t wait until you bring your family out.😊

      Thank you for watching! The family and I cant wait to get them all out there, too. Unfortunately, we will likely wait another year or two. Tickets for 3 from Tokyo to Anchorage are quite expensive.
      On the bright side, this gives me more time to make it safer and more comfortable for them on their first visit! 😁

    You guys sure have a lot of Alaskan hummingbirds around your cabin. They must like the fact that you're building a new float dock for them.

      You have an astute eye for noticing! Maybe we should put out a few hummingbird feeders. Thank you for watching!

    Great job. It's such a priviledge to work with ones dad. I learned so much from mine. Looking forward to seeing the floating deck. Maybe great to sit an fish from in the evenings? 😊

    Here is an idea you can use for your generator cord at the cabin. Get yourself a good quality 12 gauge cord and a female replacement end for the cord.
    Find a good spot in the cabin where you want to charge your tools and such. Drill a hole in the floor just a little bit larger than the cord. Cut odd the female end of the cord and pass it into the cabin and install the replacement female end on the cord. Now you will be able to have power inside the cabin and have the door closed so the bugs don’t get in.
    When you are ready to leave the cabin just pull all the outside cord back into the cabin for safe storage.

    • @OhashiOutdoors
      @OhashiOutdoors  หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is a great idea! Eventually I wan't to have a generator box a good distance from the cabin, and have an extension cord that plugs into an outlet wired into the cabin, done very similar to how you describe above. This is a few trips in the future though, I wan't to get a deck built, and re-work the bed situation. Thank you for watching!

      Much appreciated, @billgoeckel6344 ! It will definitely make life easier and prevent me from having to convince every bush pilot to just beach their airplane on the shore every trip 🤣 Thank you for watching!

    Awesome build! The suspense is killing me!😊
    Can't wait to see it completed!
    I also thought that design could be an awesome addition to you cabin!. Even if it was just a covered deck. As always, thanks for sharing, and I look forward to your next video!

    • @OhashiOutdoors
      @OhashiOutdoors  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Much appreciated, @deadpinecollective ! We are hoping it holds up through the winter. There is a lot I don't know about floating docks getting locked up in ice for 7+ months.
      I keep calling the little critter a beaver in my videos, but I think it's actually a muskrat. There will be some decent shots of it in a future video

    • @deadpinecollective

      @@OhashiOutdoorsyup I went back and watched again and you are correct, it’s a muskrat.

      Coffee and youtube is a great way to start your morning! Thank you for watching 😊
      Most of my videos are created from whatever I was able to film that day. This part of the dock build was very repetitive, and I didn't want to bore most people with 20+ minutes of cutting, drilling and screwing.
