    September did not deserve what he got. I would do anything to see what happened with him between seasons 4 and 5, where he slowly began to feel and find family in the Fringe Team. I know he was killed, but part of me believes that, like Peter, not completely. I've been internally sobbing over my own concept that September loved the Fringe Team and they loved him back, so they refuse to let him go. Nothing can change the tragic ending he got, but he has to at least exist in a fond portion of their memories.

    the observers still existed. Only it was December and September who would cease to exist, since they ultimately sacrificed themselves and died to return things to normal. IN the future, the observers still exist, however they travel through time with much different intentions seeing as how the plan of September and Walter worked.

    • @UnlimitedRicePudding_
      @UnlimitedRicePudding_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well, as it implies that the observers never existed, then non of it should have happened. The observers arrived because the science team found the right time to strike, based on their research. If the science team never needed to go back, then nothing in the show should have happened.

    • @nerdkour
      @nerdkour 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The tape addressed to Peter definitely will be there, since that's the purpose of the tape. As the rest of the tapes, I am not sure because as it stands out in the final timeline, there were no observers at all. So Walter would never have seen an Observer till 2015.
      The question is how would he know that he has to make a tape for Peter and that he has to send that tulip, because the Walter before 2015 in the final timeline should ideally not know at all that he will be disappearing from the timeline in 2015.
      Maybe an explanation can be that essentially since Walter across the final timeline is a paradox, he might have gained that knowledge by being somehow able to see a part of the whole timeline before 2015 (or perhaps he came to know by some other means that he is going to disappear into the future). This part is open to interpretation, and I don't mind if this part is flawed as well because it makes the ending of series much better.

    • @trikstari7687
      @trikstari7687 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Because he's smart enough to have figured it out in that moment. Because the writers probably wanted some little thing to potentially continue the series on, IF it became possible to do so financially.
      Or just to mess with us. To be something that simply left us wondering. Like any truly great piece of art, it left us with some little piece of datum that sets the imagination alight. Perhaps it's nothing more than that.

      Because during the series Walter had said that he believed that one day he would get a sign that after all he had done and his world changing behaviour that everything was ok and he believed that sign would be a white flower.
      This scene implies that Peter has realized that if he is receiving the sign then Walter hasn't and so something has happened to Walter, something that they always feared, that time would catch up with Walter.
      It was also a soft ending that could be used as the opening scene for a new season, one where the team try to figure out what happened to Walter and then they find out the Observers have disappeared and all trace of their previous encounters has gone. The team would still remember the Observers because of the split timelines as the Observers were only erased AFTER the timeline split but when resetting the timeline it's only from the point the Observers made themselves fully known to the world (Etta in the park scene) and not from their creation, so all sightings of them up until their invasion would still be on record with Fringe Division.
      There was talk of a feature length movie possibly involving the team and a grown up Etta getting caught up in some scenario involving the alternate universe because remember a lot of the tech terrorists in "our" universe where not caught in the alternate universe as their timeline doesn't unfold like ours, but that idea was canned pretty early on after most of the cast thought it may not live up to the TV series.

      I see it a few different ways. There is this episode where this lady sees the ghost of her husband. But there is a twist, the husband is actually alive in the parallel universe and thinks he is seeing the ghost of his wife (the aforementioned woman). Basically, the whole reason this was able to happen was the extreme love they had for each other (as well as the membrane between universes being so thin).
      My point is, I think the writers wanted to say something along the lines that God had forgiven Walter due to the white tulip OR that the love between Peter and Walter transcended even beyond space and time itself. Either way, the way Peter looks up as if he remembered everything would prove my other two points. That God gave Peter in that moment the ability to experience all of the memories they had together.
      Which if you think about the themes of the series, it really blows your mind.

    By my understanding, Walter states earlier that things will change from the moment of the invasion. So rather than a complete rewrite of history (wherein the Observers never existed), the Observers simply cease to exist in that moment (coinciding with the deletion of Walter and Michael). Does this make 100% sense? Probably not. But the whole thing is a paradox, and last time I checked Paradoxes NEVER make sense. :P

      Think about it this way; The Observers from season 1 through 4 are still there, as the emotion enhanced versions know they need to be seen at those times, and say those things to keep the timeline from forming a paradox. They are, however, not the oringinal Observers we saw, but rather emotional enchanted humans made akin to the 'child Observer'.
      They appear when they do, and stop showing when they do, to maintain the timeline, and by doing so, maintain there own lives in the process. 'The child is important' was taken to mean Peter, but it has also come to mean the child Observer.

      realmente no, el plan era llevar al hijo de Septiembre al creador de la raza de los observadores, para mostrarle que la nueva raza de seres humanos podrian tener sentimientos y no tenian que ser frios y calculadores, problema que el creador no habia podido solucionar en su epoca. Osea el plan no era eliminar a los observadores sino que simplemente humanizarlos para que estos no busquen invadir el pasado.

    just watched it so am i right? is this some kind of another timeline and there's still a version of walter at the end? and the versions of peter, olivia, etta and everyone just don't remember the invasion, etta's death, walter walking into the future... because in their timeline it actually didn't happen? but it must somehow be connected with the timeline of the invasion, because when walter and the child walked into the future it created new types of observers so there would be no invasion

    • @timriggins70

    Fringe is just the best show ever!!! and i love these little hidden messages (though i'm not always sure if it's indeed a hidden massage or only a coincident)
    have you noticed the 513 on that door in 5x12? could just be 5x13 but remember Etta was 3 years 1 month and 5 days old when the observers invaded...

    Can someone explain to me how this timeline with Olivia, Peter and ther daughter exist? Walter went to the future with Michael, then he prevented the coming of observers, but that means there were none of events of a season 5, right? Soo, Walter just disappeared from that timeline before the scene in the park with Etta, didn't he? And what does Peter and others will think about his father's disappearance for an unknown reason?

    • @Queron81
      @Queron81 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Before his disappearance Walter recorded and left a video cassette for Peter to explain his disappearance (the video they found in the future and watched together). Peter will find this cassette in Walters laboratory.

    • @trikstari7687
      @trikstari7687 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      The observers invaded the exact moment before Peter was supposed to catch Etta, The ending creates a causality loop where only Walter and the Child observer are aware of the invasion, rebellion, and subsequent conclusion that resets the timeline so that the observers never actually invade.
      As a result, Walter and the child observer simply vanish from the face of the earth without explanation, beyond subtle clues Walter would have left. Knowing him, the white tulip would really be the only clue. And one could also argue that the people that stem from the child observer being propelled into the future, went back and made sure things played out in a way that allowed for the invasion to never happen.
      Because they are infinitely more sentimental than the original observers, it could be argued that they influenced things from the beginning of the series to ensure their own survival and existence, either working from behind the scenes, or directly. Because of the success of the plan, one could even argue that the observers from the beginning of the series were just acting towards that goal, whilst pretending to be the original, malicious breed of observers.
      Causality is a bitch, it's best not to thing about it.

    I loved the series. But if they went to the future to prevent the current observers from being created then technically September never saved Peter from drowning.
    Not only that... September wouldn't have distracted Walternate when he discovered the cure which would lead Walter NOT to cross over to get Peter.

      @@jeanarlert31 it's true but one more thing even before this.
      September would never have distracted Walternate from creating the cure for Peter. Which means Walter would never have crossed over to the other side.
      Now we can say Walter is very depressed and still goes over to kidnap Peter.

      @Lavenderstar The Dragon The original is Greensleeves, from year 1580. "What Child is This" took the melody from Greensleeves, almost 300 years later.

    Why couldn't jj Abrams come up with a great ending to lost like he did with fringe? Lost was great but it's ending sucks compared to the ending of fringe. 1 hour and 44 minutes of the last episode of lost can't compare to the last episode of fringe. Fringe had a great ending.

    • @thehummingbird8790
      @thehummingbird8790 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's because JJ Abrams left Fringe. He may have created Fringe, but he left after awhile and J.H. Wyman was the only writer left to run the show. My theory is that if JJ Abrams had stayed on as writer and showrunner, he would've fucked up Fringe just like he did the ending of Lost. We Fringe fans got lucky.

      Lost had a great ending too, even better than Fringe. Lost just went more the mystery way, so it was more complicated to explain things humans can't even imagine. The idea was good, but it was too difficult to visualize it.

      @@lukesvideogameletsplays4416 No, Fringe was explaining everything very fast, only the Observers have been a msytery until season 5 (but everything about them was just pure science too). Everything was explained through science (even when it was fictional science). The main arc of Lost was pure mystery, and you just can't find a explanation, or it wouldn't be mystery anymore. But people wanted answers, so they delivered some in the last season (or better: they tried to). Fringe went the easy way with just staying with science and going step by step. So you just can't compare this two shows.

      +Furkan yenier Walter said that on the day that the invasion happened he would merely disappear. He was not erased from existence. He simply disappeared from that moment in time to exist in the future with Septermber's son, Michael. As for Peter, he's an anomaly of time and space. When he re-materialised in Reiden Lake in the new timeline he shouldn't have existed according to the temporal timeline. So he is not affected in the same way most other people are by changes in time.
